Bad News Allen against Kazushi Sakuraba My opponent, he's young, but he's big, he's strong, he's fast But I know that I've been in the business many years And I know one thing, that I'm going to beat him, and beat him real quick, real fast I hope you don't go home crying My opponent, he's young, but he's big, he's strong, he's fast But I know one thing, that I'm going to beat him, and beat him real quick, real quick And I know one thing, that I'm going to beat him, and beat him real quick, real quick And I know one thing, that I'm going to beat him, and beat him real quick, real quick I can't wait for the good news Bad News Allen against Kazushi Sakuraba Bad News Allen of the USA He's 46 years old, he's come over a hero of Madison Square Garden He lost his last fight to Yamazaki The charismatic American now has won four of his eight fights And he's out to improve that record tonight Bad News Allen of the USA Kazushi Sakuraba Kazushi Sakuraba, only 24, one of the new young faces in UWFI Comes into tonight's match with two defeats to his name Both against Americans Stamina seems to be the problem He starts strong, but tires early That could be fatal Taking us through the fight, Ted Pelk and Jeff Thompson So his referee water brings both fighters to the center of the ring Bad News Allen stated in his pre-fight interview That although Sakuraba was real quick, he would beat him fast Yeah, I liked his t-shirt Did you notice his t-shirt he was wearing for the pre-fight interview? He said the legend is black Well, I'm sure that's just a color thing But at the end of the day, Bad News Allen I didn't expect to see that out of Kazushi Sakuraba Bad News Allen says, what do you mean yeah? Well, I think we could well see a very exciting, if not fast, bout Bad News Allen fighting out of the blue corner Sakuraba out of the red corner Sakuraba opening up And you notice Sakuraba's kicks look much quicker than in the last fight They're much sharper and they're really finding their mark However, Bad News Allen with his ring savvy was able to catch one of those kicks And take him down pretty quickly Bad News Allen's judo technique, as I stated earlier Would put him in good stead Although it's about throws, there's good defense there But Sakuraba doesn't seem to be messing about Well, he's obviously been training That training seems to be really paying off I don't know if he's trained enough to be able to put Bad News Allen away It's a pretty big adversary he's going up against tonight But he looks fired up and I think he wants to prove something And we saw that even before the opening bell actually started when he refused the handshake And he slapped Bad News Allen in the face Well, I considered that very cheeky It certainly annoyed Bad News Allen It's his Sakuraba's second fight with here Maybe a touch of Sampson As his hair grows he gets better Very powerful kicks and he's really throwing his weight behind it And you notice he's really, when he's standing on his leg His heel is pointing towards his opponent And that's what makes the extra weight in it He's really putting his hip into those kicks Yes, the sign of any good kicker is to make sure the hips are fully extended And the supporting leg And heel faces the opponent Bad News Allen tackling those legs Getting him down where he can do his most effective work One thing, those kicks are really, he's really improved on his kicking techniques The only trouble is he's throwing too many of the same kicking techniques And that's why Bad News Allen is picking up after two or three kicks He's going to have to set up some more combinations Probably like a few jabs, a few straights and then try to go for a low kick He can't keep on throwing those same middle kicks over and over I'm not sure what happened there, but Referee Wada steps in Not sure why No submission hold, but Kazushi Sakuraba was in fear And he was in anticipation for a submission hold Bad News Allen almost shoving Referee Wada out of the way As he dumped Sakuraba onto the canvas Sakuraba down, trying to engage in wrestling technique with Bad News Allen Which I feel is a very bad mistake I think he should stick to what he was doing good at He should stay away from Bad News Allen in the standing up position Right now he looks like he's trying to apply a face lock or a sleeper hold But Bad News Allen, he doesn't look alarmed at all We see a shoot sign by Referee Wada Yeah, pretty close to the ropes Bad News Allen pinning him down He's trying to wear Sakuraba out And that's a strategy that has proved to work for Bad News Allen Many times he's beaten Yoshihiro Takayama And he's had a pretty successful experience with the UWFI Once again he takes him down to the ground He's trying to set up for that arm lock Yes, as you can see there, Sakuraba He used good hip leverage there to get himself out of that situation Sakuraba once again on top trying to desperately get a submission hold Possibly a hammer lock or a cross lock on the knee if he can break that But you notice Bad News Allen really anticipates it He's kind of telegraphing those submissions He's holding his left leg Plus he's crossing his legs to prevent Sakuraba from picking up that leg And applying the cross lock on the knee It's a double shoot sign on offer there Neither fighter taking up the option Sakuraba should kick him right there He's a little bit too close to the ropes I guess Bad News Allen trying to work his way in He's using a few strikes of his own Shouldn't be kicking to that big midsection He should attack the legs And stay away, he should move in, kick and then move out and continue that Even if Bad News Allen takes control of the ring he should be circling him Sakuraba trying And trying And trying No, he's trying to break that grip with strength which he'll never do against Bad News Allen He has to use leverage to break that grip I think Sakuraba could well end up burning himself out if he's not careful Bad News Allen looking for the quick victory I'm not sure what he classes as a quick victory Ted But I think if he maintains his strategy he could well come out on top Oh definitely Yes Sakuraba looking tired Possibly he burned out too much energy before the match Being nervous and in the earlier stages of the bout He looks like he's slowed down a little bit Yes his ambition could well have gone ahead of his confidence But it's a lot more power in those kicks though Yes but look at the technique of Bad News Allen Here we go Sakuraba could be in trouble right now Bad News Allen looks like he's just setting up one of those arm bars And you notice Bad News Allen's smart, he's not muscling him into that He's just patiently awaiting that opening And he's got the double wrist lock This could be it That has to be it, there's no way he's going to get out of that one Break it Bad News Allen says I'll break it Yes Bad News Allen knew that was it He told the referee to stop it, he said I'm going to break it, stop it right now Sakuraba stomping in pain, look at this Worked it around his back Look at that angle, Bad News Allen had it perfect There was no way he was going to get to the ropes And there was some serious intent on Bad News Allen's face And I think Sakuraba sensibly submitted Sakuraba probably was trying to give up but his left hand was trapped And Bad News Allen luckily told the referee I'm going to break it And referee Wada stops it Your winner, Bad News Allen Well he said his pre-fight interview would have been quick It may not have been quick but it was effective And look at Sakuraba, he's in pain Well I'm sure Sakuraba's not going to go home crying But he's going to be feeling some pain in that shoulder and arm tomorrow And he's really improved and I'm looking forward to seeing Sakuraba in the near future He's a great up and coming fighter Very cool Bad News Allen, leave the ring
