You You You You In this step I want people, you know watch this this tape carefully because Every single information is important and it's valuable and this is a Good test and this one is this is one of the tests. I highly recommend it Hi, my name is Carter diamond And you are about to watch the part two section of my introductory video workshop The material in part two hinges on your understanding the information in the part one series So if you have not personally attended one of my introductory classes, then it would be important for you to watch the part one first In this part two you will learn some of the deeper meanings behind the trigrams and how to perform a beginner's calculation of your house type based on orientation and yearly cycles Then you'll be able to apply your beginner's knowledge of the five elements to remedy some of the imbalances in your personal environment Again, take lots of notes writing is one of the best ways to learn and solidify the information in your mind Okay So what we're going to do now is cover the personal trigram formula so that you can figure out What trigram your friends or family members are when you don't have your chart with you The male formula is that you add up the individual digits of the year somebody is born Such as 1957 for a man comes to the number 22. That's X Then you divide X By 9 so we get 2 as the number we divide it by but the remainder is the number that we're looking at The remainder equals 4 and then 11 minus 4 equals 7 so a man born in 1957 is the 7 or Dewey trigram and Keep in mind. This is somebody born after February 5th if they were born in January or February 1 2 3 then Consider them born the year before and start your formula that way Then for a woman born in 1957 we do something a little different Initially we add up all of the numbers the individual digits and we come to 22 Same thing divided by 9 and we get blank then the remainder which is 4 Here's the different part for a woman you add 4 and then you get 8 so a woman born in 1957 is the Ken trigram There are some books on Japanese astrology, which is sometimes referred to as the key and They don't differentiate between male or female everybody's the male trigram Chauvinistic, but just to let you know if you encounter Forms like that you may be looking up and thinking. Oh, they say I'm something different than what I know I am so this is correct a Reminder if you end up with a remainder of zero just consider it nine So that's Lee if you wind up with a remainder of five You've got Kuhn I shouldn't say remainders, but if the trigram finally resolve to five and you're doing a male Formula it's the Kuhn trigram, and if you finally resolve to five for a woman it is Ken Automatically and there are complicated theories that explain how that works, but we won't get into that right now Okay Now let's explain these trigrams in greater detail You have the chart in your notes actually well. I'm just going to prop this up here you See that okay These trigrams are loaded with meaning and you're going to get a head full of stuff in this part, too We switch back and forth between the variety of meeting of meanings, and you will want to have a comfortable Recollection of this in order to do the remedies properly. Let's talk about the symbology Chien Chien Chien is three solid lines We have solid lines and broken lines one is yang one is yin One is masculine one is feminine, so what do you think three solid lines means? It's all that male yang energy and so the chien trigram actually represents the father figure Also the head of the company someone in a position of power Maybe the military symbolically Self-defense it goes on and on but basically we say that's the father figure the authority People who are the chien trigram is their personal trigram are often leaders they accept that responsibility Well, they like to be in charge. It's comfortable for them The image from the I Ching is of the heavens heavens and the body parts Associated with chien are the head that makes sense right head in charge and the lungs She and people sometimes have head and or lung problems. Maybe it's somebody who gets a lot of headaches Maybe it's somebody who smokes so they have a certain Karma with the lungs These ailments that I'm about to list can be minor to severe And when you're diagnosing somebody's house if the chien energy is out of balance That's the body part or area that's going to be affected So let's say the chien energy in your house is being dominated Anybody living there could have a problem with the head of the lungs Then if you happen to be a chien person on top of it You're more likely than somebody else to have that problem, so we're stacking the variables here Chien is associated with the direction of Northwest It's the number six and It's the element hard metal Then just below is chien chien When we look at these trigrams we read them from the bottom to the top. This is line one and two and three So when we're trying to discover what is different from one trigram from the next we look at the line That's different from the other two In this case, it's the bottom line right You've got two broken lines now. We have a solid line, so that's the one we pay attention to So we're paying attention to a solid gang line. It's masculine and it happens to be in the first position So who in the family do you think it is? Well she and was the father who's next in line It's masculine it's the eldest son Okay Right because we're looking at the line. That's different which is a masculine line So chen represents the eldest son and also famous people or a prince There's a certain regality to it chen people are often extroverts or in the entertainment industry They like to be standing in front of a group of people Jen it's hard wood. It's the direction of east It's the image of thunder chen makes a lot of noise just like the eldest son stomping around and The body parts that are associated with chen are the feet the throat and the nervous system a Chen person might work too hard burn themselves out workaholic Or they might have feet problems Right and it's the number three So fairly soon we'll get into this whole number system, and you just go back to the trigrams Now we have con KAN. What's the different line? The middle line is the different one, and it's yang it's masculine still and it's in the second position so who in the family is It's the middle the middle son or it can represent middle-aged men in general a con Con is water It's the direction inherently north Inherently north The image is of a deep body of water Master Sang's book. I think they call it an abyss deep deep water What body parts do you think are associated with con? Think of water a circulation blood kidneys Circulation and also the ears we have a little bit of water in the inner ear Yeah, so when the con energy is being dominated in somebody's bedroom They might have ear problems, or they might have blood or circulation problems It's the number one and We have ken Top line is the different line. It's yang it's masculine and who in the family is this It's yang it's masculine It's the youngest son represents youth in general young boys now Some things don't take too literally if you're a woman, and you're the ken trigram. It doesn't mean you're a tomboy Okay, because some that you'll just start thinking. Oh, well. She's described. These is all masculine, but I'm a woman does that mean this or that We don't go that far, okay Now ken is the direction of northeast It's the image of a mountain Ken people can be very stubborn Ken people can be very stubborn or have strong convictions. They're solid Ken Mountain And it's it's the element harder and The body parts associated with ken are the bones in general but specifically the hands and fingers so a ken person might Break their bones. They might have deformities. They might have carpal tunnel syndrome things like that the hands Now on this side pardon oh the number eight Con is north ken is northeast Okay Now over here. We have the kun trigram, which is three yen lines three feminine lines So who do you think this is in the family? Oh? Yes the mother figure the mother image Okay, who and it's the direction of Southwest. It's the number two Kun is the earth element soft earth and so the image might be of land shallow soil The body parts associated with kun is the entire abdominal area Kun people might have delicate digestion they might women they might have menstrual problems or reproductive setbacks I Have a friend who has very hearty digestion is kun trigram But he's actually been shot in the stomach so sometimes just either injury or illness to that area Yes, it just reflects some mother energy nurturing question for the kun They don't seem to have quite as defined personality traits as some of the others like I do encounter over and over again the chien person liking to be a leader and the chin person liking to be On stage very you know extroverted the con the water is often a really creative person artistic ken people are Rather stubborn That's you right No, who's ken Jenny? Oh your daughter, okay? I hate to stereotype these though because there's so much more, but there are there are some some truth to this the kun Okay, it couldn't That's the one try them that I couldn't say so much about because I with men and women it plays itself out real differently I Chien is strong. It's hard metal the leader Chen is more of the social and extroverted type person and Ken which is strong and stubborn solid like a mountain Con con is more fluid. It's water Sometimes people ask well what about the compatibility between different trigrams if you have Two chien people you have two hard metal people like clashing swords They might argue as their style of communication If you have two ken people they may not want to budge because they're like two mountains. I don't want to move To con people that's water. Maybe they flow really well together But maybe it's also hard to make a decision come to a conclusion about something everybody's like to Gemini's right all kind of spacey Soon su n what's the different line? The first line is the different one it happens to be broken. It's yen, so it's the eldest daughter It's also the image of a traveler or the wind Soon is associated with the direction of southeast It's the element softwood Mm-hmm number four And the body part the hips low back thighs buttocks legs and Initially the way I remembered that was I thought well the eldest daughter. She's traveling. She's moving. What's moving. It's the legs Soon people sometimes hurt themselves in the low back area or the legs and as well. They're often very athletic They have developed that area. Maybe they're a martial artist or they're just very athletic Candy Lee we have the different line in the center. It's yen So we have the representation of the middle daughter or the middle-aged woman Lee is fire, and it's also just the image of fire It's the number nine. It's the direction of south Soon as southeast And you have your chart also that goes over all the directions for you Lee is associated with the eyes and the heart and the way I remembered that but I thought well fire Passion comes through the eyes and the heart Then lastly we have Dewey sometimes it's pronounced toey or Dewey depending on what part of the world you're from The top line is the yen line So it represents young girls You want to build an all-girls school make it a Dewey building, right? Cater to what's going to be going on there Dewey is the direction of West. It's the number seven It's the image of a lake In Master Sang's book. I think he says happiness marshlands shallow water as opposed to con which is the deep water and The body parts associated with Dewey are the mouth mouth region including the teeth and the chest And we have obviously left a lot of body parts out They don't fall in this a trigram system, but they can still come out and be identified in different different number combinations question question Which trigram am I pointing to Chi in Well in the case of Chi in they're all yang, so it's not the different line. It's seen But it's different from these two Oh Within the trigram itself. It's different and some of you know in the I Ching we take these two trigrams Together they form a hexagram as it's called and people need some inspiring Oracle kind of information when they throw the coins and we double up on the symbology It's very interesting in fact if you take the Kuhn trigram and the con trigram We have basically earth and water Now we learned in part one that earth dominates water. That's not a good set up and Specifically we'll learn even more now is that two and one the cat combination means easy to get a divorce in the each end you put Kuhn and con together and they Speak very loftily about the battlefields and the warring states So the battlefield can be in your house question There are debates about that in fact I have a link on my website Dr.. Stephen field has done research where he thinks feng shui came first and Each and afterwards usually people say we we extracted from teaching the feng shui Some people say this is early Chinese mathematics these symbols I had a actually a student who went to the University of Michigan after studying a little bit in California and she sent me an article that was comparing the trigrams with DNA And I could hardly read the article is very dense These are some of the associations Okay question Do you have any very difficult personalities that would be suitable for some energy? Or Sun? Sun well it can be a very independent person it implies independence movement energy Li people since it is fire they can be very quick mentally sharp fiery And Dewey which is the image of the young girl That one also, I don't see anything really Overwhelmingly concrete about the personality of Dewey. It's soft metal, and it plays itself out differently in men and women It is it is the image of a lake, but it's the element soft metal yeah some of these are very Easy to understand and some of them are not in fact Sun is also associated with rheumatism. I don't know where that comes from, but that's just one of the ailments or disorders that assume soon energy can carry with it Okay So now that you that you have your list of what these trigrams mean we're also going to move on to another list of number symbology when it comes to annual energy and I think let's see you Don't have that exact form Maybe you do yes, you do okay. We'll go over it It's on your handout one Okay So now we have a whole other set of numbers to deal with And once we get through this list, then we're going to start looking at the houses and putting all the information together Every year annual energy moves through your house some people have described that annual energy as a visiting guest It could be something that you like a relative is very pleasant It doesn't take up a lot of your time or it could be a real nasty Person who you're obligated to have with you for however long and this person can really change your whole household The yearly cycle we call it the annual energy and it clicks in every February 5th So in fact here we are in January of 99 We're still operating under 98 energy for a few more weeks We will learn how to move or float as we say at the Institute the numbers from one section of your house to the next But let's define them first When the one number and it is con it is that con trigram that when it comes to your house Whatever position it takes one is associated with money Okay, it's a it's generally a good number one Powerful position and money so if that is the energy that you're going to figure out is the energy in your bedroom this year That could work for you If it's at your front door could be also positive To means pain loneliness We say bleeding or sickness can mean a miscarriage I Had a miscarriage the year that the two energy was in my bedroom back in 1990 I did not know about annual energy back then had I known I would have done a remedy Or I would have moved the bed to another location in the room because our room split was split between two different quadrants This does not mean that a two person a Kuhn person is a lonely person Okay, now we're talking specifically about annual energy Three is associated with arguments Lawsuits kind of like the e in the eight house Theory you had the e quadrant three is like that gossip scandal Really like that gossip scandal I Had a client who I didn't know what he did for a living I went to his house He had the three of energy around his desk And I said ooh, this is gossip and scandal and let's move you over to another area that's better for writing which happens to be the number four and He said well, I work for the National Enquirer So okay, well, let's keep you where you are then that's appropriate the gossip and all that the articles you need to write And he said but I don't want to do that anymore I want to get out of working for that tabloid So we went ahead and moved his office desk and he actually he left about a month later Okay, so the number four which is associated with career advancement promotion scholastic achievement writing reading creativity Generally four is called a good star sometimes these numbers are called stars like constellation Four is also associated with romance So when the four comes to your bedroom you could have a boyfriend that year or a girlfriend or an outside affair Four energy, it's very flirtatious It's creative. It's both people often want to separate the two Right you want to you want to have the creativity, but we don't want to break up our marriage Sometimes both things happen that year Five is associated with setbacks and delays and arguments And remember earlier we were saying that five doesn't have a trigram and My friend Lorraine at the Institute very aptly described that five doesn't have a trigram, so he's mad So wherever the five happens to be there can be problems Six is annual energy can mean money And I think that's a typo six implies power and authority so correct that in your notes Yeah, it's it's power somebody might be promoted, but they don't necessarily make more money when the six comes Seven is normally considered a negative number It happens to be in a positive cycle right now, but as yearly energy it can mean a betrayal bleeding accident Robbery as well slander very heavy number I Had a client who had the seven energy in her bedroom the year I went up to visit her and she had found out that her live-in boyfriend who was in Canada at the time she found out that he was paying his share of the rent for money. He was stealing from her stock portfolio portfolio That's a betrayal Eight we like eight fame name fortune Eight is an inherently good number, and it actually is getting more and more positive as time goes by Now and for the next 25 years eight is going to be an extremely positive number That's why I like to help people design or find Locations where there's this eight energy in the bedroom or at the front door This is why? Some Asian people in the San Gabriel area were upset that they lost the eight one eight area code Became six to six because the symbology of eight is so strong as being powerful I Have some friends who have a function way consulting company that and they call themselves the one six eight advisors Those are the good numbers They were contacted by a function way practitioner on their website. What does one six eight mean? My friend Chris said you don't know Basic this is now we're into our fourth hour Nine remember, it's Lee. It's fire. It will intensify whatever. It's with it lights it up so when Nine joins already positive energies it makes it more so You learned in part one that there's an a quadrant if the nine comes in it would make it more egg If it was an F quadrant it might make it more F But we're building we're learning more to add to the mix now Okay, so this is just a reminder of the element associated with the number And we're about to discuss how you would use the elements to either enhance an already good number or diminish reduce the negative Numbers are always in some combination and the annual number acts as a trigger for something to happen Let's say you have the H Quadrant as your front door which means a potential for robbery when the nine comes in that intensifies it So that might be the year that it happens or when the seven comes in especially that it also means robbery unto itself If you have an e quadrant which can mean the arguments or lawsuits and then the three annual comes in That's the year that you're getting sued The annual energy makes things happen There are also monthly cycles, but that's not really relevant until you know more of the basic material I Had a client call me over the holidays, and she said my mom is finally starting to Believe in feng shui. It's really why she said well We looked at your notes from last February, and you said that in August it would be easy for me to conceive a boy and She did I did now my mom is starting to think well. Maybe there's something to it The cycles make things happen Here are some reminders about orientation the kitchen usually means the back of the house the sitting position The sitting position is the name of the house once you've determined that the living room or views indicate the facing the front and In fact we could say let's say you have like this room. There's no windows. What do you do? You're in an office space. There's no windows then the side where there's the door that'll be the facing side When the kitchen and living room are on the same side of the house and usually the bedrooms are the back and that indicates sitting side Okay, so any questions Pardon When they're together No, when they're together. It's the facing yeah, and then the bed the bedrooms and bathroom or bathrooms will be the sitting side Okay now in part one we had this east-west trigram chart Actually let me add to it numbers you Okay Remember I said the center is neutral in part one well now we already have a number Associated with this house type and from here on out. It will be called the house trigram number Do you see the correlation do you know why I've put the numbers where they are This is where you would need to eventually memorize the number associated with the trigrams that we just listed for instance Lee is the number nine so we put a number nine in the center of a Lee house If we have a con house Con is one so we put one in the center Con is one so we put one in the center So Jim your house is Chen, so it's three you put three in the center Anybody confused about what to do with their house Your house is a Dewey house right it sits west faces east okay So if it sits west and it's the Dewey house Dewey is the number seven I've provided the number for you right here But that's where it comes from No Right this is the house The house is number. I'm glad you mentioned that because I've seen people Try to float their own personal trigram number throughout the house, and you do not do that Okay Okay, now. There's a certain way a certain pattern that we float these numbers Floating means moving actually in the most advanced form of feng shui that I practice we call it flying star Whether it's flying or floating it's moving okay The Pattern is the same for every single house. It's just that you're starting with a different number The pattern is that we start in the center And whatever number we've started with after that we move to the direction of Northwest we ascend our numbers So For instance if we have a Dewey house, and we've started with seven in the center, then we plug in an eight in Northwest If somebody has a con house where one is in the center, and they move to the Northwest That makes sense whatever number you start with you started with six you'd move to seven Okay After Northwest we ascend to West After West we go to Northeast Yep, then we go to South Yeah, it's going to make a kind of a zigzag star pattern After South we go to North Then we go to Southwest and then we go to East and then to Southeast Swing your partner, do-si-do and you're back in the center again actually in the charts that you have The original pattern is here for you in the Roman numerals five Actually since there is no five house since it doesn't have a trigram This is truly just the original formula. You'd never really float it this way. There's no five house five six seven eight nine one two three four You just repeat that pattern Okay, if you can memorize that pattern it's going to come easy to learn all the more advanced number flows In The olden days don't ask me what year, but I've read in Feng Shui books that cover more of the historical aspect It's written that the Feng Shui master would actually start from the center of the house And he might move in this lo-shu pattern sometimes called the magic lo-shu square grid To bless the house walk in that pattern I know nothing about the Kabbalah But I thumbed through a book that had the Hebrew letters written in a certain format that was exactly this flow Numerologically, so there's a certain universal nature to this flow And I don't know if any of you noticed some of the perfection of this Six plus five is 11 plus four is 15 Two plus nine is 11 plus four is 15 Two plus five is seven plus eight is 15 no matter which way you go you wind up with 15 This by the way is also called the later heaven sequence Sometimes you'll see the Feng Shui trigrams in a different pattern and probably 99% of the time It's showing a grid that used to be called the pre heaven sequence This is really advanced Feng Shui, but you'll see you'll see it And I don't want you to be confused that they're in the wrong order They're just describing a different reality pre heaven is the stuff that you Come into the world with your karma if it's your karma or destiny to be a billionaire That's your pre heaven situation then the post heaven the later heaven sequence is what you do with your life Whether you realize your potential or not so this is the this is what we use nowadays for your house So in memorizing this pattern we would go for the Dewey house Seven eight nine one two three four five six Hey, we've just got nine numbers This clear But he knows if you started your house with a two in the center you'd move three to northwest four to west five to northeast Seven eight nine back to one Okay, that's the house trigram number Mm-hmm, I will just return to one Okay now We have to add the annual energy The house trigram is a semi-permanent number because it's based on orientation All right, we came up with four for the Sun house because it's sitting in suan southeast So that's what we put in the center, but now we're going to deal with the annual energy which clicks every 12 months in 1998 the number two was in the center After February in 1999 we're going to have a one in the center In the year 2000 we will have a nine in the center In this case we can say that the numbers descend as the years scroll forward I Don't have a chart for this you can Quickly do this and I recommend doing this as practice For your house you can think oh yeah back in such-and-such year I got that promotion and the four was at my front door Or in this year we had that fire and boy that fire number was right there where the fire started You can see certain things Okay For another few weeks Every house will have one in the center every house No, that's just the energy in the center Yeah, if you enter your house from the center Let's say you live in a condo and you come up to the garage and actually enter through the center of your house and yes If your office is in the center of the house yes In a lot of houses the center ends up being a hallway or not really a room that's used although not all the time So it implies We're just about ready to see what is it paired with it depends on what the house trigram number goes along with it And we're going to learn some definition The annual We compare them This is the annual number And this is the annual number And this is the annual number And this is the annual number We compare them This is why And just to kind of address bonnie and erin's concerns when people say they practice the compass school of feng shui I've discovered that often they don't Even when they show up with a compass They may be discerning that you know, this is east and this is west and then they go. Okay Put water in the north section of the house Oh put fire in the south section wrong Everything moves it moves yearly and plus we have these eight basic house types, so that's not compass school It is true that east is inherently associated with wood And if you studied feng shui further you would glean more and more information from that But that doesn't mean that in the east section of your house. You always put a plant not at all Okay Actually a friend of mine was talking on the phone with a woman who's she's been on oprah She's very famous feng shui person. She has no idea what compass school feng shui is. What numbers? Okay Let's do a house type and we'll see what we come up with Let's say we have a chen house Chen is three in the center. That means it sits in the east faces west Right Okay And we have to float our numbers in that specific pattern So after three we do four And we move to the west five To the northeast six to the south seven north eight southwest nine Yes, one and two Okay, everybody get that Yes Right i'm doing um remember aerial view, here's the street It sits east so it's a chen house and chen is three so we start with three Okay Now put the annual energy for 1999 in The black so in 1999 we start with one in the center right And then we move two over to northwest three to west Four Five six seven eight nine nine I've the black the black numbers are 1999 annual numbers And the red are the house trigram numbers for a chen house Yes Yeah, that for 1998 Eight it was a five in the northeast and it will become a four fairly soon for 99 Okay, everybody get how I got these numbers, okay have to cater to all levels of speed and comprehension Now we have something to work with we could plug in the letters too, but just to look at the numbers now When we have six and four together what elements are six and four? Yeah Well six is metal correct and four is wood Metal is destroying wood Here we have a potential since four is this good number associated with promotion and creative writing But the house trigram number is destroying metals destroying wood So what do we do? How do we fix that? When metals destroying wood you add yeah, you add water to wood water feeds wood And so we have to have all of this at our recollection four is promotion creativity. It's writing It's the sun trigram. So it also means the low back the legs the thighs Is So we want to protect four we don't want someone to have a low back injury this year We also don't want their creativity to be suppressed this year. So however, it's going to affect somebody we want to help the four Right, I mean because you've been clients and I know the advanced numbers I think it's fine. No matter what to have water in your room. Normally don't need it But this year it can enhance things, yes No only in a house where the four comes to their important area And you have to be careful because remember four is very flirtatious Maybe you don't want to add four. I mean add water to feed all that sexual energy basically what it is Okay Yeah Pardon It usually means outside we'll talk about the more Yeah, yeah You're single it's great I I think cycles are Totally Fascinating to me, obviously that's why i'm standing here. I have an inherent four house trigram number in my bedroom It's always there the house trigram number and I had the annual four last year also in my bedroom and in the months of February and november I had monthly four and those happened to be the two months out of the year that some men showed some interest In me just a natural cycle and I put a fountain up there also But just for the monthly cycle, but it's right in sync things happen Yes Because it really doesn't matter whether you have six four or four six metal which is six will always destroy wood And in a while we're going to do a rundown of all the 81 different possible number combinations But it's true that one eight and eight one mean almost the same thing Nine seven seven nine, but you know that one of them is a permanent energy and one of them Passes I wouldn't say oh i'm not going to rent that house because there's a two annual energy there this year If you're planning on living there for 10 years because every house has some negative cycles The key in feng shui is to know when they're coming and neutralize them So that they don't come into full force or happen at all We say cancel it out That's what you do Remember nine intensifies whatever it's with so since two is negative nine makes it more so Is that You Well, that's an odd one because it's a productive cycle fire does feed earth so nothing's out of sync But as a general rule and a master seng's book, I think he emphasizes it wherever you see a two Or a five add metal And you can figure out why because even though So You might have two and five together double earth energy There's no domination cycle going on but we just describe two as being loneliness bleeding accident Five arguments delays pain when the two of them come together This is actually one of the most notorious number combinations. You have to add a lot of metal to neutralize it two five Um Alyssa you remember that house that I got referred to look at in nickels canyon There was a house that a realtor brought me in to look at the previous Occupant had killed himself And so the prospective new buyer wanted to know if the house had anything to do with it And sure enough the front door was two five Extremely accident prone then we found out, you know what year it happened in the month and everything There were more twos more fives it all stacked up Well this this over any house floor plan could you can have a room that's like this In your house that it can come with parts of two and maybe parts of another two trigrams Right like this two rooms Right, that's what happens in a real floor plan. You see that These numbers go over several rooms when a house That part of one room that part of another room Yeah, see where it falls for instance Let's say you were sleeping in the two nine section of your room, which isn't real positive But then you were able to switch your bedroom over to the one eight section of the same room Then you get a different result a better experience Well, it's part it's part of two different rooms Yeah What i've noticed in houses that are or apartments that are under a thousand square feet There's going to be a lot of this overlapping In a house that's roughly around 1200 1500 square feet It almost seems a lot of the time like each room takes on the space of one quadrant Then when you get in really large homes, there might be two or three rooms all inside of one quadrant So it depends on the shape stretching all of this out. We'll do some examples with some real floor plans also Um, maybe I should do one right now Yeah, I mean you having your beginner's handout. Oh, this would be perfect to show Let's see Okay, see a rectangular shaped house why am I not this way that way Okay, so we've divided up the quadrants equally But you see how well this house is an example of somebody walking in Their front door is between two different quadrants that in general is bad news We call that out of trigram like out of sync It's like walking into a room and it might be 80 degrees on one side and 65 on another and you feel uncomfortable So a house should be designed so that the door is specifically in one quadrant not split between the two But you see the breakfast nook Let's say this was southwest. We've got part of the southwest and part of the west for the breakfast nook the real floor plan This bathroom and foyer takes up one quadrant this bedroom five and the stairs are in another quadrant So Does that make it more clear? Right, right Of the house Yeah, try to have as close to accurate a floor plan as possible The more accurate is that you can be exactly accurate within inches No, just the exterior walls don't include decks or patios. Yeah Yeah Let me grab that same example because we were going to do this as well today Okay Let's say that bedroom number Five down here. Let's say this happens to be the east section of the whole house If that were true, let's see. This would be southeast south Southwest west northwest north East Okay Now this room itself Can be divided up into its own quadrants as a mini version of the whole house where we could say this is the east southeast south Southwest west so we can do a littler version on the room But generally what you try to do is put a remedy in the correct section of the house And then within the room try to just at least be in a positive area within the room But you don't put remedies and elements in every single section of every single room They would cancel each other out Yes Yes Yeah, like if I put that in this house, let's say I called that six four And then over here one eight Part of the living room would be in six four and part of the living room and most of the family room would be in one eight Just goes over that way This is why in feng shui when people Move their bed three feet knowingly or unknowingly Dabbling in feng shui something might happen because they may have shifted themselves out of a certain quadrant. They're still in the same room But it's a different energy field. Maybe it's got maybe it's a all in one fell swoop It might be a better quadrant of the house better annual energy better sleeping position for the person and then something dramatic happens So that works Okay, let's see. Let me draw another example Oh Yeah Yeah, that's why it's called the flying star. It's it's The house as it's being built And once the roof goes on it's captured some time in space So it's both earthly energies coming from below and the stars the constellations from above people and buildings are sandwiched in between and We are affected by the movement of the stars. Maybe women more than men. I don't know but People have historically planted crops according to the cycles of the moon and As much as we try to alienate ourselves or detach ourselves from nature We are still a part of it So it is it's a natural natural physical laws And I call it a magnetic field. It's not the same as electromagnetic fields, but is a type of magnetic field Right and Just as a little Footnote in case anybody gets this video and they're in the southern hemisphere. We don't change a thing there's a whole controversy going on right now about whether you Move everything around because it's hot in the winter and cold in the summer in the southern hemisphere. No, no This is this is a blueprint for the whole world Let's see, let's do another house example Let's say we have A house that sits northeast and faces southwest What's the name of the house Right because we look to the sitting position Northeast equals can can equals eight Nine Okay, where do we move nine Remember that pattern you got to memorize it nine goes to northwest and then where do we put one two Three North four jumping ahead five goes to Six seven Okay And you want to add this year's annual energy or last year somebody's house 1999 energy we'll say Okay. Remember everybody's got a one in the center for 1999 So then we move two to northwest Oh, it's interesting. Yeah, the number combinations in different locations, but similar number combination So let's do another year just to see if I can get some other examples of other number combinations You want to go back to 1995? Put a five in the center Let's try that Okay, so we go five six seven Eight nine one two. Uh-oh three four What if that's their front door? What's the letter by the way for a ken house for southwest it's pretty pretty good. It's probably a I think We'll add that on I think it's a it's good But we've got two lousy numbers here Five and two accident prone White is metal so you can absolutely have complementary colors. No problem with that But what's more effective than the color is the object made out of copper bronze steel iron That'll help although we've asked this question a lot of times if you have a metal gate or Metal bars Is it going to influence what's inside? Yes, but it's not enough. So add more inside If you park your car, you know right up Right up near the area where you need metal. Yeah, it would flow into that space but still go inside the house What's a red car A red car hot quiz if the overwhelming color catches you. Yeah Okay Yeah, you can find a way to inconspicuously That being the key word underline it to the interiors Have a wrought iron entry table have some Silver picture frames hang a clock that has metal moving parts back and forth Okay, don't hang a wind chime though In the five to master sang explains in his book and we know it through dance studies that the wind chime represents the number six And when you throw a six towards five and two you can make the house haunted I've had validation from clients. This is what they did unknowingly hanging a nice wind chime Something about that. It creates that atmosphere The number six And when you put those together six with five and two It attracts yin type energy which can be a ghost Oh, it was come Oh the eight eight yeah That's an advanced case study class at the american feng shui institute We call it the moneymaker year When it's nine nine, yeah or the north four four make a baby Yeah, oh there's so this goes so deep It's frustrating for me to only have a couple hours with me because You get more and more information out of this when you really study the trigrams and all their intricate Combinations because right now you have a house trigram number And an annual number there's three more important numbers and when you have them all And you add the letter on top and then you add The personal trigrams of the people who live there. That's how we can say. Oh Your husband cruises bars next year. He's going to get a sex-related disease. Oh, how can you be so specific? It's because over and over again These patterns have established a predictable outcome When we have two and five and seven nine all come together means a fire You know so So when you see a negative number coming up you try to cancel it out so that it isn't going to act like the trigger of the gun Waiting for something to happen Okay Now in this case we have one four It's likely that that might be a back bedroom in a house, right? One is water four is wood water nurtures wood The office Do what to the office Occasionally I might recommend somebody use one room over another in a particular year if it's really going to make a huge difference Or use a different door One year over the other maybe maybe one year you've got A side door that's four and a front door. That's two so maybe for the year you should go with the positive door This is what people do historically also Changing doorways completely to allow for good chi to enter the house The energy once you open up the front door it activates the dormant energy Here we have a mixed message To eight two is earth eight is earth. There's no domination cycle going on right double earth But we know two has these negative attributes Eight has the positive What are you going to do if you add metal to reduce the two you've also reduced the eight If you add fire you have increased the negative as well as the positive So you have to ask people we know what's more important to you your health or money? Not everybody not everybody Everybody Usually we try to take care of the health if you don't have your health the money is eventually going to fall apart, too Doorway bedroom if this if your two eight quadrant is two closets between two rooms, you're not going to experience it It's just where it falls in the house Okay For two eight Usually we would leave it alone because if you add metal you reduce the loneliness and the accident from nature of two You've also reduced the money potential because earth wants to go towards metal If you add fire then you increase the money, but maybe now you've got stomach problems So it's a mixed message sometimes we're stuck sometimes we can't do certain things So To use your back door That's a tough one, too Because I know the advance numbers for your house and can't say the front door is better than the back patio door anyway You have good annual energy coming to the bedroom though We'll see what else we can do with that No, what i'm teaching now is the house trigram number along with the annual because Well your your case is classic and we don't know for sure when the house was built. We're reduced to using these Numbers that aren't reliant on when the house was built When master sang travels around and maybe he goes to some places In asia where there's no record of when the structure was built Then we go back to this beginner's formula so that at least on a yearly cycle You can enhance the good and diminish the bad, but this isn't the whole picture I would say well people have been calling me now in january asking me whether they should change anything Starting in february and some people i've said no keep everything the same other people it's some little shift One or two changes So you're not reinventing your house every year The really critical numbers don't come to those spaces every single year Okay, sometimes you leave it alone I use all the numbers now Hmm A break. Yeah, what time do we have here? Okay, what we'll do is we'll take a little bath and break and then when we come back We're going to practice doing a compass reading outside this conference center So you can get real experience holding a compass We'll do that. So let's take a little break Thanks We're going to do a practice compass reading in front of this is a restaurant a bar, okay You would use the same principles if you were standing in front of a house Now if I was actually hired to do a feng shui reading for this cafe I wouldn't be standing this close Or I may do one compass reading from where we are But i'd also go out to the street because you may have noticed that we are hanging out around a lot of metal These kind of things can throw off the compass and the very building itself has a lot of metal But theoretically we're going to pretend that we're not standing near any metal and we don't have any metal jewelry on our wrists And we're going to hold our compass level Don't tilt it forward or back because that will throw your reading off And whether you're using a low pan the chinese compass or whether you're reading From a regular western compass You want to hold it so that it's parallel? To the whole front facade of the building Now I have my back to the building right now and some people feel comfortable Facing the same direction that they think the building is facing I personally Like to face the building I feel like i'm going to position myself so that my hip and my body is better in alignment Some people like to walk away from the building and make sure that they're really great The chinese compass will point to south Okay, some of you are wondering 180 degrees south. That's where the arrow is going with a western compass It's going to automatically point to north North is north zero degrees south is south 180 degrees Okay now with the low pan you have this dial that you can turn What you're trying to do once once the compass has settled down and it has established where is south Then you move the dial so that the red line in the center is directly under the arrow You want the arrow to cover? The line and you see those two little red dots you want the feathers of the arrow To be touching those dots ideally okay So you have to move your dial around Have it point towards 180 degrees south And then you know where you are in relation to south These cross wires will cut across one of the sectors So for instance i'm looking at my compass now and this red wire is cutting Through northeast so that direction is northeast What's behind me over here is southwest that away? So we could say this cafe is sitting southwest. It's a kun building. It's a kun store If I turn around and face it I just have to move my dial Again lining up the feathers with the dots The arrow still points to south. So what's over there that away is southwest and what's over here is northeast So it doesn't matter whether you face the building or face away from it so long as you're not confused when you look at your compass The facing is the front and since that's northeast yes it faces northeast Southwest is Right right the sitting position And just to show the the regular western compass is going to give you the same information It's going to point to south 180 degrees north that away zero degrees And then what's actually in front at about 40 degrees. That's northeast And this shows how critical it is to make sure that you're using a compass Because it's very easy for people to think oh that's south that's east it's not northeast If you hold your compass you see That you have to rotate That so the feathers of the air And you line up that arrow with south and then you see what's over there northeast is that away towards your tummy is southwest that's behind you So it's Yeah facing northeast Okay So one thing that some of you are not doing is you're not moving the dial around Make sure that the dial is turned So that you're if you're using a chinese compass that the arrow is pointing towards 180 degrees south And then what's in front of you? Is the true direction for facing the opposite will be the sitting? Right Because on this western compass we have north southeast and west but we don't have the division it doesn't show you clearly That northeast ends at 37 and a half degrees this is showing 40 degrees Could be between north northeast and dead on northeast so Okay Well in some ways they're easier they're bigger to read bigger print And for the future when you get into advanced feng shui, it makes a huge difference whether the building's facing Northeast or north northeast or east northeast Every 15 degree increment matters for now. We just have eight basic house cuts Well, the facing will be the opposite of the sitting You know either one you want Well, what's behind her is the front side of the building that's northeast what's ahead of her is southwest that away That's the back of the building Either way Right Right, we would say this is o to c as opposed to p to d And there are chinese names maintained, you know, it's very complicated in chinese But these 15 degrees sectors are called mountains and there's 24 of them so the sitting the mountain side is critical Okay So what else? Yeah, disregard the name part you just want to turn this compass so that those feathers are touching the little red dots And the tip of the arrow is pointing to south And then you know where you are that's northwest that away that's southeast that away So the store on olympic the stores on olympic for this whole complex face southeast they sit northwest So they're tn stores this whole row of stores are cohen because they sit southwest Up here. We've got Um, we also have the tn building You are right right that's the name, okay It does happen but it's not so much the case with this neighborhood Again, you have to turn this all around again holding it level making sure one side is level or parallel to the building Right that would be the case if let's say the building faced northeast At exactly 37 and a half degrees then we have a problem Yeah Right. Yeah, you don't want to do that Okay, so we could do we could even do a close-up if a building faced between one of the major House types right on one of these major lines It's called out of trigram, which is not a good way to start a building That doesn't happen very often But once we move this around We'll have a more clear picture of the alignment And again, don't stand near metal if you were actually looking at a big complex like this You may even want to go to a neighborhood on a parallel street to get away from all this metal And with cars and cell phones and everything whizzing by it can throw the compass off But we're doing this theoretically and if you were looking at a house You get your reading from the front and then also go to the back And if there was any discrepancy between the front and back go with the back the spine that's the sitting It's more important Okay So I think this is good enough unless anybody has any other questions about how they're supposed to stand Remember parallel to the whole front facade Look down don't put your compass in your car for three years. That'll ruin it Okay Okay, so we can talk more inside Okay, so now we've done our outside compass reading I just want to say before I forget so I don't forget What you've learned in the part one class and what you're learning now in the part two Is based on master sang's book. This is a text So if you want to have a backup review If you don't want to watch this video umpteen times and want to flip through a book We're basically using master sang's beginners number system teaching now The principles of feng shui now. It's a self-published book. So unfortunately as of today, it's not Found easily let's say at barnes and noble, but you can order it. You can order it through the institute You can get it from me We have plenty of copies. Okay, it's one of the best books out there And i've created for those of you just coming in a little cheat sheet of the house trigram number Planted in every single of the eight house types I want you to learn it but Just so you're not doing things haphazardly from the beginning. That's the proper flow Has everybody written this in Yes, no Okay, because I want to remove it fairly soon and get to all these number combinations and go down the list and And Okay, does anybody have a question generally about how to do the compass reading anything that was still confusing No You don't have to but you just want to make sure you're parallel like as I was doing outside If let's say this is a house if i'm standing like this, i'm pretty much parallel But if i'm standing like this, do you see how sloppy that is? Yeah, just so your back is parallel with the with the facade or if I turn around I'm parallel with one wall. Once you know what one wall is then you can Assume that it was built correctly With parallel and perpendicular walls For instance if somebody is trying to do a compass reading of their apartment Within a building let's say this is the lobby and this is a big building And you've established let's say that this is 90 degrees east You're doing your reading outside, but then your apartment is over here in the back of the building Maybe your door is over here If this is 90 degrees east and the back of the building is west Then we have this is a north wall and this is a south wall So you've done your reading outside and then you can assume That it was built properly. Well, this is a little west wall north East and south inside your own unit You don't have to and should not stand in the hallway inside your building trying to do a compass reading Or for that matter even out on the balcony because you're too close to the building The metal of the building is going to throw your compass off okay so I have been to apartments that had Things were not Parallel or perpendicular they're kind of crazy that happens too Okay, so now does everybody have this written in I guess I should say if you don't then we'll look at it later Okay So these number combinations come up if there's nine numbers and they're paired we have 81 Nine times nine 81 different possibilities of translating these numbers These are all printed in master sang's book But I just want to use this as a reference because I like to add to some things that aren't written here Okay When one and one are joined together One is an inherently good number. So it says you're good for academic achievement artistic creativity good for money But because one is con the contrigram and it's associated with the ears and the kidneys and blood We have to know what else is going on because maybe it could have a negative influence on the health We need to have a part three and part four workshop in order to understand those ramifications Whether it's one two or two one. We have earth destroying water two is earth Water is the one so we want to add metal Because we want to reduce the power of the two earth and feed the one water with the metal So if somebody's bedroom, let's say was one two or two one If they have a brass bed frame, that's a lot of metal. So they have more than enough metal Okay If they have a red bedspread in the room, what's happening? Fire feeds earth they've made it worse They're feeding the very element that's doing the dominating so you yank it out of there So it says with the one two or the two one combination easy to get sick miscarriages involved in car accidents One three Now one is water and three is wood water feeds wood. So it is a productive cycle Although look at the the meaning troubled by gossip lawsuits imprisonment and disasters Because water's feeding the three it's activating the negative aspects of three Maybe we would want to add fire to this room maybe why Because three wood is reduced by fire. So we're Siphoning off its negative energy Maybe we'll just leave it alone. Got to know more One four or four one good for writing fame also good for male new male relationships or companionship Or one affair if we already kind of talked about that flirtatious energy If you wanted to increase it you add water If you're in trouble in your marriage and you've got a one four bedroom and you want to decrease that We want to stop that water from flowing over to the wood So we block it with earth Put a big stone under the bed around that area You're trying to stop the water from feeding the wood One five or five one, it's still earth destroying water So we can have problems associated with con one here. It says trouble by sickness food poisoning That's a pretty specific definition for one five Injuries caused by accidents because wherever the five is just remember that five Called the evil emperor. He does damage wreaks havoc One six One and six is metal and water Good for career advancements also good for money. But remember six is the head For some people when they have a lot of six energy in the bedroom, they get a headache So we would soften it with water because metal naturally wants to go towards water So If those happen to be the permanent numbers, which I haven't seen in a long time But if that's the permanent numbers then the nature of the house might be that Some of the six and the one energy comes out and influences people One seven is also metal nurturing water Good for money competitions at work hurt by knives easy to get a bleeding because number seven is metal metal objects And seven is that energy of of bleeding and scandal Betrayal it's a dangerous kind of energy One eight good for money one and eight are those two money numbers that we like career advancements misunderstanding among siblings or business partners That's another specific definition of one eight or eight one That's not real obvious because it doesn't have anything to do with the elements Influencing each other. It's just more meaning of the trigrams One nine is water destroying fire fire is the eyes or heart so we could have eye problems or heart problems Two two Double that negative energy and yet master sang has written that it's good for the military and the police Machine related type work easy to get sick though, especially the digestive system Because two is the kun trigram the stomach area These definitions by the way are slightly different than what we call the advanced number system There's more in other words Two three troubled by gossip lawsuits accents easy to get sick, especially for a female Why a female because two kun represents the woman and three wood is dominating the two the earth Oh Where we left up to four four is good for writing academic achievements But a malicious sexual encounter with a young girl or women diseases in the abdominal area Four and two together can mean the man will control the woman the two So it might be good for a man but not for a woman Two five the infamous combination of critical stay dormant serious disease and accidents sometimes people have Equipment in a two five area of their house. It's always breaking down Ghosts in the machine kind of thing. It's it's an accident prone area. It's better if it's your dining room or An area that you're not using nearly as much as the bedroom Some of you during the break have come up and said well look at all these domination cycles around my house You don't have to fix every single area Just focus in on where you're spending most of your time and the entrance that you're actually using It's also pretty difficult to have a room That's completely absent of any of the offending elements and only the good elements just in the natural way that we Design and decorate our spaces look at what's the dominating feature of the room I had lots of metal Because it's earth two and five are both a negative type of earth and earth wants to go towards metal They put big metal pieces around I have And metal colors as a compliment gold white gray Uh, I have a client who recently went out and she bought some some weights, you know Like barbell weights and she put them under furniture in an area of her house Where she needed a lot of metal because she didn't really want to buy another piece of furniture that anyone would have to Step around or see but she wanted to anchor those areas You
