The Lost Saucer is an ABC network television series produced by Sid and Marty Krofft, starring Ruth Buzzi and Jim Nabors as hapless aliens who take a boy and his babysitter with them on their flying saucer. It aired new episodes from September to December 1975, with reruns continuing until December 1976, first under its own banner, then as part of The Krofft Supershow. It ran in daily syndication from 1978 to 1985 as part of the "Krofft Superstars" package with six other Krofft series. Of the 16 epsiodes of the Lost Saucer produced, there have been only 8 epsiodes officially released (episodes 1-7 on VHS and episode 10 on DVD). Presented here for the first time are all 16 complete episodes. The 8 out-of-print commercially released episodes are included here as well as the remaining 8 rare episodes that were recorded off of WLVI Boston in the the 80s. 01 - "894x - I Love You" - Sourced from OOP Columbia House World of Sid & Marty Krofft VHS set, volume 2 02 - "The Tiny Years" - Sourced from OOP Columbia House World of Sid & Marty Krofft VHS set, volume 4 03 - "My Fair Robot" - Sourced from OOP Columbia House World of Sid & Marty Krofft VHS set, volume 6 04 - "Transylvania 2300" - Sourced from OOP Columbia House World of Sid & Marty Krofft VHS set, volume 8 05 - "Beautiful Downtown Atlantis" - Sourced from OOP Columbia House World of Sid & Marty Krofft VHS set, volume 10 06 - "Where Did Everybody Go?" - Sourced from OOP Rhino Kid's VHS, The Lost Saucer - Volume 1 07 - "Get A Dorse" - Sourced from OOP Rhino Kid's VHS, The Lost Saucer - Volume 1 08 - "Androids Come Home" - Recorded from WLVI, quality 4/10 09 - "Valley Of The Chickaphant" - Recorded from WLVI, quality 6/10 10 - "Return To The Valley Of The Chickaphant" - Sourced from OOP The World of Sid & Marty Krofft DVD set 11 - "The Laughing Years" - Recorded from WLVI, quality 6/10 12 - "Fat Is Beautiful" - Recorded from WLVI, quality 5/10 13 - "Planet of the Look Alikes" - Recorded from WLVI, quality 7/10 14 - "Fi Am Woman" - Recorded from WLVI, quality 7/10 15 - "Polka Dot Years" - Recorded from WLVI, quality 7/10 16 - "Land of the Talking Plants" - Recorded from WLVI, quality 7/10 The 8 rare episodes were obtained in a VHS trade over 25 years ago. The original recorder tried to edit out the commercials, which unfortuantely did not make for clean breaks between segments. Also, the end credits were not always complete. This required some restoration work, cleaning up and adding transitions, fixing sound, and repairing the end credits. I also used NEAT video to help clean up VHS artifacts, reduce grain and added some sharpening. Overall I'm very pleased with how it came out. Unfortunately there is only so much you can do... episodes #8 (Androids Come Home) is in the worst shape, but looks a lot better than when I started. VHS recordings captured using a Samsung SV5000W and Hauppauge PVR device.
