Coming through the gate and coming up the curved road through the trees up the mountain was like coming to God's country. I was very impressed. I had no idea what it was going to be like and it blew away anything that I had imagined. I was in awe and my next reaction was I said, gosh, this must be sort of what heaven must be like. The warmth and the friendliness of the people, it's just a different environment than what I'm used to and I love it. To me, I foster it to God. Depending on which of the many Cove seminars you choose to attend, your spiritual growth will be enhanced in a number of unique ways. The first is what we call knowing God. As you seek a quiet place to spend these moments of reflection, it becomes virtually impossible to ignore the humbling presence of God as you see His fingerprints etched on every inch of your surroundings. It was just such a great feeling of I'm leaving that busy world behind and now I can focus and I can talk to God a lot more clearly up here. It's such a peaceful place. It's cut into the mountain. Very beautiful. It gives you a chance to just kind of get everything else off of your attention and just so that you can focus strictly on God. If we are not manifesting fruitfulness, if we are not abiding in Christ and His life is not lived out through us, then the world gets a distorted picture of Jesus Christ. You can do nothing more important than listen to God speaking to you through His word. You are either in the word and the word is conforming you to the image of Jesus Christ or you are in the world and the world is squeezing you into its mold. When you start with the word and try to apply it by being righteous, God's peace will confirm that that's the way to go. God's plans for you are better than your plans for yourself. And so we never have to be afraid to commit an unknown future to a known God. Second Timothy 3, 16 and 17 tells us, All scripture is God-free and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work. In your main sessions you'll receive solid Bible-based teaching by some of the best nationally recognized speakers. You'll be equipped to practically apply the word of God to your life, ministry, and witness. Many of our seminars offer interactive sessions. This is a unique time to share and gain insights from others in a more personal setting. In Hebrews 10, 24 and 25, we are commanded to encourage one another to love and good deeds, to assemble together and uplift each other. In workshop sessions you will get hands-on instruction on how to create a more personal and effective Bible study. You'll also have the option to receive training in how to share your faith naturally. James 1, 22 tells us that we should not only hear the word, but we are to be doers of what it says. As our participants leave the cove and return home, they begin to build a desire in their heart to study God's word for themselves, and it begins to build a desire in their heart to conform their life and their spirit more to the likeness of the Lord Jesus Christ. I would encourage people because just the getting away from home, getting out of your routine and having that time alone with God. My Bible study skills have not been desirable at all, and I'm sure I will improve that. My prayer life left a lot to be desired, and I'm sure I will improve that. People do not understand what a moving experience it really is to spend the weekend here. I feel like God has given me what it takes to take a step of faith and to take that message to others who may be hurting, who may not realize that His grace is sufficient. The natural result of studying the Bible here at the cove is a renewed relationship with God and a transformation of your own life toward greater godliness.
