Richard Marks' new song, Hazard, has people trying to read between the lines. He's creating a stir because it's the first music video to ever create its own murder mystery. Richard Marks came up with the idea for Hazard while on the road in the Midwest. Towards the end of the tour, I wrote, I swear I left her by the river, I swear I left her safe and sound with that melody and then I sat and went, okay, what does that mean? And I sort of created this murder mystery around those lines. In the video, Marks' girlfriend Mary winds up dead and the mystery begins who killed Mary. Marks' character is a prime suspect. Robert Conrad plays the sheriff. Do you recognize this? How did you tie this around this Mary's neck? Conrad is an old family friend. He doesn't need to do this. Let's face it, this guy's got more money than get a lot of it. No, I don't. No, I don't. I have a little though. Since the video came out, radio stations across the country have been swamped with calls. And so we went back and we did another edit of the video to create even more confusion, to point in a lot of other directions. So now with two separate versions of the video, the second one is supposed to give more clues to the identity of the killer. Interest is even higher and it seems almost everyone has an opinion. Yes, I think the sheriff did it also. He looked evil. I think the policeman killed her. You think the sheriff did it? Yeah. The only one who knows for sure is Marks and his lips are sealed. I'm only the writer, man. I ain't telling. I can tell you it wasn't Mike Tyson. That's as far as I'll go. Richard originally planned to make a third ending to the video to reveal who done it. But for right now anyway, those plans are on hold.
