Oh, well here we are again at some ungodly hour after the soccer yet again. I mean what is wrong with this country? If this program was called something different like the Book Burning Program, I'm sure the world would be different. If it was called the Book Burning Program, we'd probably be on Channel 9 at 7 o'clock at night. Still enough of that, we'll move on to our first two books. Yacca by Candida Baker and Rooms of Their Own by Jennifer Allison. Now these two books are about, oh I'd say they're about nine and a half inches by six and a quarter. Only joking, just trying to make the program comprehensible to the TV critic from the Sydney Morning Herald. These two books are fascinating collections of interviews with prominent Australian writers. And two of the writers who appear in both books, Blanche Delperget and Helen Garner, are over in the corner of the lounge room with Julie Copeland to talk about what it means to be a successful writer in Australia.
