Music Music Music If the Redskins' eighth victory of the year, where they defeated the New York Giants, was the best half a football game anyone's seen in a long time, how would you possibly describe this game with the Houston Oilers? Someone said, well, that was sloppy. Folks, it may have been sloppy, but these were two hard-hitting teams who staged an awesome football display that would go 64 minutes. For heroes of the game, if you go back to the defense, Andre Collins early on. Andre might have played his best game as a member of the Washington Redskins on defense. Darryl Green, clutch interception. Warren Moon threw only two interceptions, but the last one would kill him. And, of course, how about Ernest Beiner, who rushed for almost 100 yards in that first half alone? Ernest Beiner got one of the game's touchdowns, and then the Bigfoot. The man to watch is Warren Moon, and from the right of your screen will come Andre Collins. Collins comes in, appears to make a sack, but the play goes on. Well, as the play goes on, the Oilers have got themselves a big game, and they appear to be on a drive. But when you look at it again from another angle, you can see that Andre Collins with him in. Now, the Redskins were forced to call a timeout. His knee clearly is down. Warren Moon's knee is down. Andre Collins gets credit for the sack. Collins had a great game. Ernest Beiner had a big first half here, picking up 13 yards. Ernest Beiner would set up the only points of the Redskins in the first half. This 13-yard rush help would get along the way. He had a total of 105 yards rushing for the game. Chip Lowmiller would end up giving the Redskins a 3-0 lead. This 21-yard field goal, when that long, long drive of 82 yards would stall, the Redskins take a 3-0 lead. Then in the second quarter, with the game tied 3-3, Mark Rippon is under pressure. He throws his passes intercepted by Lamar Lason at the 38-yard line. There would be four turnovers in the game by the Redskins. That would enable the Oilers to set up late in the half with seven seconds to go. Ian Howfield hits the 24-yard field goal. The Oilers would take a 6-3 lead at the half.
