Yes, John Lennon is dead and yes, the world has lost a great man. And all I can say is to have known and worked for him was a great experience. To learn of his senseless killing was a great shock and deep grief for myself. There's really nothing more I can say. To sum up his music, I just simply couldn't. And to sum up the grief that I've gotten, probably the world has got, I just couldn't do that either. I'd just like to respect the wishes of his wife, Yoko Ono, that she's asked for herself and for Sean, his son, and for John himself. That on Monday, our time, but Sunday in New York time on 2 p.m., that the world gives John Lennon a 10-minute silence and just pray for him and pray for the world and pray for all the love that he asked for. And so in Melbourne, we're having a memorial service for John at 6 a.m. in the Melbourne city square and I hope that around Australia, around about that time, we all think of what a great man that man was and how great his music was. Anyway, as John would always say too, that the show must go on, so here's the last show for 1980.
