I gotta say we're all really excited about our upcoming primetime fifth
anniversary show that's gonna be a really fun night and here to tell you
more about it is late night's very own character five hooks the Pirate

you're here to tell everybody about our big fifth anniversary show that's coming
up that it's on Wednesday September 16th at 10 o'clock Eastern Standard Time
that's right you scallywag. Arrgh! Thanks a lot Five Hooks. By the way if your head is a
hook how are you speaking? Arrgh! I'm Five Hooks the Pirate. Yeah you said that but how are you

numerous films including Desperado and Sled now starting tomorrow you can see

How you doing there Salma? I'm doing great. Yeah sorry about all the sailors on
shore leave but that happened. Now you know this must be a fun movie this
actually looks like a fun movie to do. It is it was a lot of fun I had a great
time. Yeah you get to you get to dance a lot everyone knows that. I get to dance a
lot to great music by the way. Disco is back I guess right if you'd made this
movie 15 years ago or even 10 years ago you'd have hated that music now it's
cool again right? You think so? Yeah 10 years ago you couldn't walk around going
I enjoy a good disco record you'd be beaten senseless seriously but now it's
come back around and what surprised me I didn't know this you're also singing in
this movie is that right? Well I sing a little sometimes not not all of it I
sing but I think some and I was very nervous about it. Why were you nervous
about singing? It's nerve-racking I don't know how people do it and then I one
one time I had to get up on this like bridge without any protection really
high in high heels. In the movie like you're walking down a catwalk kind of
right yeah and you know there's like you can just fall and somebody said to me be
careful with the heels because if you fall you die. Always good to have that
safety guy on the set. Exactly. Don't trip or you'll die. Exactly. Good luck. And I
have to perform in front of all these freaks because you know all the people
that went to the studio before looked like freaks and some of them are like naked on
saran wrap paper yeah that's like a costume for this movie because it's like
you know. People used to just be naked and wrap saran wrap around them? Come on that was a lot
of clothes then. Okay uh-huh. And it's just like weird looking people all of
them staring at you like 300 of them and it was very distracting I have to
perform and not fall and not look at them and on top of it I had to you know
and I'm nervous about the dancing and the singing and on top of it there was
one extra that was dressed as a sailor with a boa pink boa on him and he's all
the way in the front and I'm not trying to concentrate and he's screaming at me
hey Senorita. Muy bonita Senorita. Kiss me Senorita. Hey sing to me Senorita.
What the hell? What was that? You know how people think we Mexicans do this.
By the way let me tell you I don't know who made that up. I think Spear Gonzalez because we don't do this.
You see now I'm understanding why I've never done very well with Mexican women
because I always go. They don't like that. I can't imagine I seriously I you don't know what gets
into guys heads when they think that someone's gonna like that. Yeah no it's
like terrible I think some Mexican parrot came up with it and people just
thought that you know that's what we do but no. Right so you just blew him off.
You're not talking to him. Charo had a little influence. Remember that Charo? I remember Charo yeah. Poochie Poochie Poochie. We don't do
that it's just her and. See when I shake my boobs it's not the same effect as when Charo
did it. No. I'm working on it. You had a love scene in this movie is that right?
Well I had a very mild sort of a love scene but it didn't make it to the to
the movie but it was I had it was very fine. That would make me really
self-conscious if I had a love scene with a woman and they cut it out of the
movie. Really? Because they looked at it and like technically and you're not doing it
right. It had nothing to do with it but actually the guy that I had it with
Breckenmire it was his first time forget love scenes kissing someone and although
we were dressed he was supposed to like be. Kissing someone on camera. Yeah yeah yeah yeah I'm sorry I'm sorry. Who is this loser?
Someone on camera and he had to be like on top of me like kissing me and he was
really nervous and for the two months before we got to that scene he's driving
me crazy and how do you know if it's gonna be okay are you supposed to use
your tongue is it like like I'm not supposed to use my tongue and then have
you how many guys have you kissed in a movie are you and he was like so
nervous mm-hmm so I decided to play a joke on him mm-hmm which wasn't really
nice but he was like frantic about it and we're really good friends so I was
wearing jeans that day and we just happened to find an object like the
microphone sort of a shape of an object but not a microphone and it was like
made of wood but gold it's Studio 54 we had all sorts of things and I put it
inside of my jeans and there was this like Tom Jones sort of look. A bulge if
you will yeah yeah that's called the Tom Jones bulge yeah which it was called the
Conan O'Brien bulge but it ain't. So anyway what did he do? So um he didn't see it he was so
nervous and to say action and I'm like standing there and I think he's gonna
laugh and he doesn't and he's like on top of me kissing me and this thing is
like killing me and I'm like he doesn't notice. You know what can I tell you
something just for your own edification in the future that's the kind of thing
that if a guy feels that on the woman he doesn't laugh. He freaks out he goes back
in time he loses his hair. I wouldn't be laughing I wouldn't be I wouldn't feel
that and go silly me. So finally you know we're kissing and I reached out and I took
it out and he's like oh okay good then he's all right yeah that's the right
reaction. Can we take a can you hang out just a little more? Sure. I want to take a
break and then I want to talk with Salma Hayek a little more so stick around

Let's look at what Adam Smith has already done. Smith voted for the
Balanced Budget Act for term limits and gave his pay raise to our local schools.
The big problem in Washington is there is too much partisan bickering amongst
the politicians and not enough working to solve problems. The people of this
country don't care who gets the credit of the blame. They want the problem
solved. As one newspaper wrote, Smith votes his conscience. A former prosecutor,
Smith has been praised as a leader and fighter. Adam Smith, independent and
standing up for what's right.
We're back. I'm sitting here with Toma Hayek and we were just chatting during
the break and and you mentioned that you do a little trick. You do this at parties.
What do you do? Where do you do it? I did it when I was a little kid. I want to
do it. Because it's like a special talent I have. Okay. So you take the needle and
thread and pretend. You have to pretend. Then you go in, take the thread out, then

Now you know what's interesting is that the timing of this movie is kind of cool
because a lot of people now have a renewed interest in in Studio 54. I grew
up in Boston. I was never around Studio 54. I didn't go to that club so I don't
know what it would have been like if I had gone. Oh really? Yeah. Well there was
like tons of people out trying to get in. It was crazy. I mean everybody was
killing to be in that place because like the most important and most beautiful
and most outrageous people would go there. And so people would stand outside
and and if you if you got picked you could go in but if you didn't get picked
you were screwed. You couldn't go. And I'm sorry Conan but I don't know that you
would have gotten in because you kind of look like an accountant. Yeah, that's kind of like. Well she's right. I'm not like the
coolest looking guy. I think if I was could I please enter I would appreciate it.
I could come in. I don't think yeah. But you know what now that it's coming back
in case they open another club like this. Right. I want to give you as a present
