able to stand up and testify three things, that there is vibrant men's ministry in their
church, they are connected across the community in prayer networks, and thirdly that they
can testify that there is no racial bias, and then secondly that there is no denominational
bias. And then what we envision doing as Promise Keepers is we really believe that our work
effective, as we were called, is done in this nation and we are going to move on.
Move on to other things?
We are going to go global as God would use us.
You are going global?
Well, there is no nation in the world where men are standing strong for the Gospel of
Jesus Christ, not one. And so there are a lot of great organizations that are being
used globally of God, and we want to tie in with them and see how we can be used to advance
the Gospel and get men to stand up and be counted around the world.
Well also, Bill, wives have failed. What would you think if there was a Promise Keeper for
women and women promise things in response to what men are promising?
We would be very much in favor of any type of gathering of ladies. It's just we don't
feel like it's incumbent upon us to engineer it.
But they are a part of the equation and they also have to keep promises, correct?
Absolutely.
Promises can't be one way.
No, absolutely.
And none of all of this surprises you. The attention it's gotten on everyone. That amazes
one.
Well, we've seen it grow and others are just kind of discovering what God is doing. We've
been doing this now and a year ago we had over a million men come into these stadiums
and we've seen how it's impacted men's lives so dramatically. So now that because of the
exposure in D.C. it seems to be hitting on a grander scale, that doesn't surprise me.

Hello Larry.
Hi.
Yes. I have two questions for your guest.
Sure.
Question one. Does he believe in women clergy, in women in the pulpit? And two, what denomination
is he affiliated with?
Bill?
Okay, I certainly support women in clergy and women in leadership. I attend the Vineyard
Fellowship. It's a non-denominational church in Boulder, Colorado. And I've been going
there since 1988.
Non-denominational means it's not Baptist, it's not Methodist, it's Unitarian? What?
That subscribes to the tenets of Jesus Christ but is not affiliated with a denomination.
Bill, don't you miss Saturday afternoons? You had an interesting Saturday afternoon
this past Saturday, but are there Saturday afternoons in the fall when the leaves turn
and you lead young men to the field of battle?
Well you know, I played eight years and I coached 32, so I got 40 years of those falls
behind me and I thoroughly enjoyed them. It was intoxicating. It was very challenging.
But what I'm doing now, it's more my passion, quite frankly, and I enjoy what I'm doing
now even though I thrilled as a coach.
In other words, you're getting more enjoyment now than winning a big game.
That could mean, that's a game and it's exciting but it's just a game. This is the game of
life. I mean, these are supernatural stakes that have everlasting ramifications. It's
so much more important.
Someone quoted you as saying, is right now you're not political. Did you mean then you
might be someday? Get into the, you will never get into the fray of politics?
No, I have no interest in politics and I have no interest in promise keepers developing a
political agenda.
Does promise keepers have disagreements? Do you ever get together with your board and
they want to do something and you want to do something else?
Oh sure. Yeah, we're forever before the throne of grace asking the Lord to help us sort things
out.
How do you resolve it when men disagree?
Well, there's a way in which you can mutually agree to disagree and yet if it's done in
a spirit of love and camaraderie, it can be, everybody can leave out of there on the same
page.
A man and wife could too, couldn't they?
That's right.
So, it doesn't have to be necessarily a final decision by the man in the marriage if he
doesn't have to make it with other men.
Well, somebody's got to make the decision. When promise keepers get together and disagree
and you've got to break the tie, somebody's got to break the tie Larry.
Yeah, but then you need an odd number of people in the discussion. How do you break a 6-6 tie?
No, the way you break it is somebody ultimately has the authority and they have to step up
to the plate and make the decision.
Bill, I thank you very much for sharing this hour with us and giving us a lot more insight

have a very powerful storm system moving in across the west, but the soggy weather continues
across Texas. Right around Medina County, they've already collected about five inches
of rainfall. They're seeing some of the roadways there, very treacherous. Also just to the
south of San Antonio along Interstate 35. We've seen a couple of inches of rainfall
there and a portion of that interstate is affected by the water as well. But look out
west from Santa Fe, then just to the west of Denver, all the way up into Kalispell,
into Astoria in Seattle. We've got the rainfall and guess what? Snow levels dropping. We'll
show you some pictures coming up on the world today of just how bad the weather was right
