In the meantime, I need to worry about tomorrow with gust between 50 and 60 mph if you have some of those inflatable Christmas ornaments out in your front yard decorations, you may want to deflate him and pack him for a day because they may end up in Western Oklahoma tomorrow. Those strong winds, light snow and Saturday is not going to be a big deal. I'll talk about that coming up. What is the big deal is down to one degree Sunday morning, so we'll go from 75 tomorrow to one on Sunday if you get ready to head out the door and take a look at this gorgeous sunset 42 degrees at 9 o'clock 40 at midnight. More about that will be coming up in about 10 minutes. More news with Larry right now. Alright, thanks even as the just mentioned those temps about to make a dramatic dive, but tonight we're finding out if it affects your health. ABC 7's Tatiana tumor is here in the studio with what you need to know. Tatiana. Larry, the winter months are all about how you prepare for the cold and maintaining a healthy immune system. Tonight we're taking a look at what you need to do to protect yourself. I drink a lot of emergency in the winter just to prepare just bundling up like crazy trying to get, you know, as many layers as possible on when there's those great swings and temperature that tends to kind of kind of get folks sick for a while. We just kind of push through. You know, it's just kind of the weather temperatures are expected to take a deep dive this weekend. So will the drastic dip cause people to get sick? When you have weather changes like this and we will be more susceptible to the cold and feel like you're getting sick when their body will be stressed to it because they may not dress properly to protect themselves from the elements. James Russell, a nurse practitioner at BSA Care Express, says the cold weather is not a direct link to illness. Being cold does not necessarily make you sick going outside. You know, without a hat on, you know years on cover makes him more susceptible to a frost bite on your ear than it does. You getting sick from it, Russell says freezing temperatures can bring some health dangers if you are not prepared. You can definitely become hypothermic where your temperature drops too low. And if you're exposed and just, you know, you'd be outside several minutes and your fingers be exposed. It can be susceptible to a frost bite. During the winter months, Russell recommends taking the necessary precautions to maintain a strong immune system such as washing hands, eating healthy and getting the appropriate shots. Flu vaccine for everybody just to stay. It's just an extra preventative caution to staying healthy. BSA also noted that during this time of year, the pressure from the cold can lead to migraines as well as a lot of arthritis problems reporting from the County Department of ABC 7 News. But on Wednesday, Tracy Villami reports airport officials took that program one step further. Pig. Santa Claus. Pig. It is a pig. I think he's ready to go to Disney. To Disney. Meet Bacon Bits, the therapy pig. The purpose is to relax people and calm them and de-stress them. It breaks their train of thought when they're trying to get through the checkpoint or once they get through. She's referring to the canine ambassadors program at the airport. But today, Bacon Bits became the first poor sign to join the program. Bacon Bits is a perfect match for the public. He loves people. He wags his tail. He's friendly. Bacon Bits was gifted to Terry Hutchinson when she was recovering from being ill. She likes to say they obviously ran out of flowers, cards, and boxes of candy. But her recovery gift has become a gift for others. Together, the two visit 65 different facilities and nursing homes each year, delivering smiles. When Terry met one of the canine ambassadors at a Halloween parade, she reached out to the airport right away. I thought it was a little, you know, I was like, oh, okay, you know, but let's look at it. But it only took one interview with the 101-pound charmer, and he was in. I couldn't believe how lovable and friendly he was. He was in my office and wagging his tail. And I thought, oh my God, this is great. Terry was wonderful. Bacon Bits was wonderful. And so here we are today. And at just 20 months old, this little guy has years to continue to wag that tail, spread that love, and prove once and for all that everything is better with bacon. 101 pounds. No way.
