The slow, premeditated manner in which the defendant took the life of her husband,
subjecting him to a painful and lingering death sentence,
constitutes in my opinion sufficient justification to agree with the jury
in invoking the rule of special circumstances in determining sentence.
The monstrous inhumanity of these acts leaves me no alternative
but to impose the supreme penalty upon the defendant.

and remanded over to the warden of the state penal institution,
where on the 10th day of November of this year,
you will be executed in a manner provided by the law.
And the president is due to arrive at the White House this evening.
Convicted murderess Samantha Delorca has been scheduled to die in the gas chamber

Good evening. The BLF has promised more demonstrations like today's violent scenes outside the Nauru House offices of Labor Minister Steve Crabb.
13 police were injured as more than a thousand BLF members and supporters protested over yesterday's police raid on union officers. More from Paul Murphy.
The BLF is back, and with a vengeance. It's a fact that the Victorian police force today learned to its cost.
Their target, the Nauru House Office of their number one enemy, Labor Minister Steve Crabb.
But the police line stood firm, repelling assault after assault from waves of enraged BLFs.
Eventually, four arrests and 13 injured police officers later, the mob withdrew. Senior police were shocked at the ferocity of the rampage.
From the time the BLFs gathered outside the union's Carlton headquarters this morning, it was obvious there'd be trouble.
One person who could have reason to be worried is Premier John Cain. Today he had an escort of plainclothes police accompanying him to his engagements.
And it's believed Labor Minister Steve Crabb also has police watching his home. But the BLF's objective was Parliament House.
After leaving Carlton, they marched on Spring Street. With only a handful of police in front of them, they broke into a charge.
Police reinforcements were rushed in at the last minute to block their path. And more trouble is on the way.
The BLF has several demonstrations planned and, ominously, their allies in the trade union movement are prepared to join them.

The Melbourne Diocese of the Anglican Church has become the first in Australia to announce it will ordain women priests. More from Susie Goodman.
In his historic announcement, Archbishop Penman says the first ordination of women will take place in February 1990.
You may say that's a long way off, and it is really, but it takes a while to get legislation into place.
And I intend to see that legislation is introduced to the Melbourne Diocesan Synod next year.
There was not sufficient legal support within the church to ordain women immediately, he said, and the delay would promote unity in the Australian Anglican Church.
