Hello, friend. I'm so glad to see you today. Before we start, I just want to show you this neat old postcard our friend sent us. It's from the land called Hawaii, home of hula dancers and pineapples. Stay right there, girl. I'll be right back. I just gotta say I wanna spend my day with you. You are my best friend, I wanna share the things you do. Oh, baby, you make me smile, be boppity little, hoo hoo wow. I just wanna spend my day with you. I just wanna spend my day with you. Bop, boop, ba-dop. Boy, what a neat art easel. It's just like the kind a real artist uses. A real artist. It's just like the kind a real artist uses. Gerbert, Gerbert. Earth to Gerbert, are you in? This, I like them smiling. This will be my most famous work of art. Say what, Gerbert? Oh, hi, Tyler. You're here to help the art easel again? Yeah. Why don't you ask your dad to make you one just like it? I bet he could. Not just like it, this one is incredible. Well, how much does it cost? Twenty dollars? Whoa, does it come with paintings too? No, just the easel. I told you, it's incredible. You know better than I would, Gerbert. You're the artist. Well, I gotta go. I'm gonna go to the store today. He said he might teach me how to work this cash register. See you later, Gerbert. Bye, Tyler. Maybe someday. Gerbert will be right back after these messages. What do we track to the grocery when we want to go? In her seat's a steering wheel and a radio. What has an engine and uses gas to make it run? When those lights and four big tires all make the ride more fun. Cars, cars, cars, cars, we are riding cars. If we didn't have them, everything would be so far. Cars, cars, cars, cars, there are many kinds. But the one that I love most of all is the one that I call mine. What has seat belts and doors to lock when we take a ride? Traveling down the interstate on the right-hand side. Signal lights that blink day or night, let drivers know. When it's time to slow us down and when it's time to go. Cars, cars, cars, cars, we are riding cars. If we didn't have them, everything would be so far. Cars, cars, cars, cars, there are many kinds. But the one that I love most of all is the one that I call mine. What can be a station wagon, taxi, minivan, a convertible, a pickup truck, a car? Cars, cars, cars, cars, we are riding cars. If we didn't have them, everything would be so far. Cars, cars, cars, cars, there are many kinds. But the one that I love most of all is the one that I call mine. It's Art Time with Benny Brush. Hello kids, welcome once again to Art Time with your favorite host and paintbrush, me, Benny Brush. Hey, I remember when I was a little bitty, little bitty brush, kinda like you, I used to like to play like I was driving a car, cause I wanted to be able to drive. But I couldn't cause I was too little. You ever feel like that? Well here's what you can do. You can make a toy traffic light like here and use a flashlight and you can make it really work. Red, yellow, green, it's great fun and it's easy if you just try it. All you do is you go to your mom and you say, hey mom, I need a shoe box. And she'll say, well if your dad would buy me some new shoes, I'd have a shoe box. And you say, well what about that shoe box in the closet with the rubber bands in it and the paper clips? And she'll say, okay. And then you take that shoe box, look down here what I've got. I've got a shoe box, I've got some glue, I've got a cup, I've got scissors and crayolas and paper and that's all you need. And it's really easy. You just do this. You use the cup as a stencil to draw circles on the box. And after you draw circles, you cut them out. See how I've cut these out? And then after you do that, you've got to make paper to put in the holes. So you use the cup to draw your circle on the paper. And then you color them in like I have these done. And then you cut them out with your scissors and then you paste them into the box. And you see I've got the finished one here. You can see the way I've done it. And they're all in order and then you can play with it with your friends on their tricycle, on their bicycle, on the sidewalk or anywhere. And what do you do? What does green mean? What does yellow mean? What does red mean? It's great fun. You can go anywhere with it. You can do it if you'll just try it. Hey, gotta go. This is your favorite paintbrush signing out. PINNING! I think you've got the hang of it, Tyler. Now remember, always put the one dollar bills in the same slot, the five dollar bills in their slot, and the tens and twenties in their proper slot. And always count the change when you take it out of the cash register and again when you give the customers their change. That way we won't make any mistakes. Yes sir, always count the money twice. Good idea. Nope, Tyler, here comes your first customer. Hi, did you find everything you need? Yes, thank you. That would be $4.46, please. $4.46, $4.47, $4.48, $4.49, $4.50, $4.50 is five, the five is ten. Thank you. Thank you. Yeah, I'm back and see you. I will. How'd I do? Wonderful. Now all you have to do is put the ten dollar bill in the right slot. Oops, hi. Oh no, no Tyler, I'll get it. You're watching the shop. Hello Tyler. Hi Gerbert. Hey, check out the new cashier. Wow, no kidding Tyler? No kidding Gerbert. Hey, do you want to buy something? Oh yeah, oh yeah. I want to buy a large roll of Kite String, please. That will be $1.29 with tax. Alright, here you go. You're going to spend your five dollars? I don't think I'll ever be able to save up enough money for the art easel. It's going to take a miracle. Well, maybe you can get something like it for your birthday next year or something. Yeah. Do you want me to put that in a sack? Oh no thanks, just put it in my backpack please. Thank you Mr. Cashier. I'll see you later. See you later Gerbert. Well Mr. Eisel, it's been fun dreaming about you. Ten dollars? Oh why did I spend my five dollars? Now I only have one till ten dollars. Tyler must have given me too much change. I should take him back. Then again, I didn't steal it. It's a miracle. It's a miracle, unbelievable. Who would have ever thought it? Never would have guessed. Wow, this is the best. And I never even saw it. It's a miracle, a miracle, a miracle. I can't believe it's true. Who would have thought a miracle would have been just for you? I certainly didn't. In my heart of hearts, the very deepest part. I've waited for this moment. Now the time is here, and my full of cheer, over this bestowment. It's a miracle, a miracle, a miracle. I can't believe it's true. Nope, who would have thought a miracle would have been just for you? I know I certainly did, but I'm kinda glad he didn't happen, that's for sure. Hold it, hold it. Yes, that is beautiful, my little furry feline. Or should I say feline? Good morning, madam. Oh excuse me, sir, have you seen Gerbert today? The little orange fellow. Yes, that's the one. Mrs. Kaiser, it's really me. Really? Oh, Gerbernardo, would you consider doing my portrait? Wow, really Mrs. Kaiser? I mean, certainly, madam. How's this, Gerbernardo? Magnolia, I mean magnificent. Nice arties, is it new? Yes, ma'am. Well, what we got here, Gerbert? Earl, that isn't Gerbert, that's Gerbernardo. The real Gerbernardo? Pleased to meet you, Mr. Kaiser. Earl, how did Tyler do today at the shop? Well, he made a little mistake. And you know how Tyler is, he gets pretty discouraged with himself. What kind of mistake? I taught him how to use the register today. And he must have given somebody too much change or misplaced it somehow. Because we ended up ten dollars short. Oh, well, that could happen to anybody. That's what I told him. But he still feels awful about it. I'm finished. Oh, that's beautiful, Gerbernardo. Thank you. Well, goodbye, Gerbernardo. Bye. Bye, Gerbernardo. Bye. Poor Tyler. Oh, Rory, I shouldn't have spent that money. It wasn't mine. It wasn't a miracle at all. But now look, I've used all the stuff. Oh, what am I going to do? Stay tuned. Gerbert will be right back. When we walk with the Lord in the light of his word, What a glory he sends on our way. While we do his good will, he abides with us still. And with all who will trust and obey. Trust and obey, for there's no other way to be happy in Jesus. But to trust and obey. And each problem we face, he will guide us in ways, Which he freely gives us every day. Not a time will there be when his love can change me. All I need is to trust and obey. Trust and obey, for there's no other way to be happy in Jesus. But to trust and obey. For God's word tells and shows, he will help us to grow. By his light we will know the right way. If we call on God's name, and his word only claim, We'll have peace while we trust and obey. Trust and obey, for there's no other way to be happy in Jesus. But to trust and obey. What am I going to say? Dear God, please help me know what to say. Thank you. In Jesus' name, Amen. Oh, boy. Good afternoon. Are you trying to decide what else to buy to go with your art easel? No, ma'am. I need to give the art easel back. Is it broken? Are there pieces missing? I'd be happy to replace it. No, ma'am. It's great. I love it. But the money I bought it with wasn't really my money. I didn't really steal it, but I guess I kind of did. Yesterday I was walking back from Mr. Kaiser's store, and I looked in my hand, and I had a ten dollar bill. I knew that I was giving too much change back, but instead of taking it back, I spent it on the easel. I need to take the ten dollars back to Mr. Kaiser and tell him what I did. And tell Tyler I'm sorry, too. But you've already used up most of the paper. I have three dollars of my own money. I can pay it for the paper I used. You keep your three dollars. I'll take care of the paper. Thank you for being honest. You wait here. I'll get you ten dollars. Yes, ma'am. That was quite a temptation, Gerbert. I wanted that silly art easel so much. But deep down, I knew that money wasn't mine. That's happened to me, too, before, Gerbert. Next time someone gives me too much change, I'm going to give it right back to them. I'm sorry I wasn't more careful, Mr. Kaiser. Well, that could happen to any of us. You two boys deserve a pat on the back for being honest and brave. Hey, Tyler, if you're through working today, why don't you come over to my house? I'd like to. You go right ahead, Tyler. You've earned it. Thanks, Mr. Kaiser. Mr. Kaiser, see you later. Let's go. Bye, boys. Hello. Miss Taylor, Earl Kaiser. Hi, Mr. Kaiser. What can I do for you today? Do you still have that fancy art easel? Yes, I certainly do. Oh, wonderful. The roller coaster ride. I don't mind when I stand in line, no matter how long it takes. And though the ride is not too long, it's always worth the wait. It goes up and it races down, the roller coaster ride. There's a quarter at the speed of sound, the roller coaster ride. I hold on tight to the handlebars and scream along with self. I love to be riding my very own scarf, so I can watch everyone. It goes up and it races down, the roller coaster ride. It turns the corner at the speed of sound, the roller coaster ride. I hear the clicks when the ride begins, climbing to the top. I hear the clicks when it's at the end, coming to a stop. The roller coaster ride. You know, that fancy art easel was nice and everything, but this desk works fine. Come in. Hi, Mr. Kaiser. Is Gerbenardo here? I don't see that fancy art easel. Well, I took the art easel back, remember? Oh, that's right. I knew I'd seen that art easel someplace before when I was buying it today. When you were buying it? Surprise! When Mr. Kaiser told me who he was buying this for, I said I want to make that delivery myself. Oh, thank you so much. Would a pint of American would have been just for you? Oh, thank you so much. See you later, alligator. Bye! Bye! Bye! Bye! Bye! Thank you, Mr. Kaiser. You're welcome, girl. Thank you, Mrs. Kaiser. You like me and I like you. That's what real friends do. Wow, what a neat letter. I just love it when people write me letters. You can, too. Here's how. Box 544444.
