Now, Eric Menendez breaks his silence. He is one of the most notorious killers in America,
convicted along with his brother Lyle of murdering his mother and father.
You've not heard his voice for years, but today you will.

I miss my mom terribly. I would give virtually anything to be able to hug her.

Speaking out in a rare interview from behind bars.
Eric is serving a life sentence at Pleasant Valley State Prison in California.
A face-to-face interview was not allowed, so he spoke to the insider's Pat O'Brien,
Eric's every word monitored and recorded.

It was the most awful night of my life, you know, me doing the worst imaginable thing.
Eric recalled in vivid and emotional detail the night he and his brother Lyle brutally gunned down their mother
and their entertainment executive father as they watched television in the family room of their Beverly Hills mansion.
I collapsed on the stairs in a kind of shaking, crying, and Lyle was holding me saying that it was going to be okay.
In a panic, brother Lyle calls 911.
I was trying to kill my parents.
Who shot who?
I don't know. I was looking for him all over.
He came home and found who shot?
My mom and dad.
Eric was ultimately convicted of first-degree murder.
He wanted to talk about this night. It's part of his therapy, I think. It's part of his rehabilitation.
The nightmares are of me reliving that night, of me waking up, you know, not so much screaming,
but me waking up in cold sweats, and I have the nightmare of being chased.
Eric's defense claimed he suffered years of sexual abuse at the hands of his father.
That was of no help at his trial.
Eric Menendez will never see the light of day. He will never get out of prison.
But in prison, he married wife Tammy, who wrote to him during his first trial.
I never expected her to fall in love with me, and I never expected us to have a prison marriage.
Tammy tells their story in her book, They Said We'd Never Make It.

Tonight, Vanessa takes off her fat suit, and Vanessa, I understand the responses to the real you were quite different.
Well, Mark, I gotta be honest. I feel pretty lucky because strangers have always been pretty nice to me, especially in New York,
but I never really appreciated how kind they were until I put on the fat suit and saw how cruel people could really be.
So, does size really matter?
Walking around New York's Fifth Avenue and Central Park, would I be treated differently at 125 pounds than I was in this 350-pound fat suit?
Excuse me. I know you're working, and I'm sorry. How do I get to Third Avenue from here?
How do you even get across the park?
I can walk there, though. I don't need to take like a cab or a bus.
It's a little bit of a walk, but, you know, I would just go right through here.
Okay.
No, it's not that far.
Okay. Thank you.
He was like, oh, it's walkable. To Third Avenue, and the other day, he was like, you need to take a bus.
That's right. Wearing the fat suit, it was as if the walk was too much for me to handle.
I'm gonna wait on that.
I don't want to get in the bus.
But hey, at least this guy stopped to help me out. I got plenty of gocks and dares, but some people wouldn't even give me the time of day.
It's really amazing how obvious people are about it.
In terms of I'm the same person on the inside, I was asking for directions and asking for help the same way in the suit as I would right now.
And people were completely treating me like night and day. I said, hey, how do you get to Saks Fifth Avenue? I don't know. Today.
Excuse me, you know how to get to Saks Fifth Avenue?
You gotta go around here.
Okay.
Heck, I even got an offer for a lunch date.
I'll go in there.

When I was in the suit on the subway, not only was I looked at with disgust, but pushed completely out of the way.
I was stared at on the subway. Today, a guy wanted me to listen to his music. I almost fell over. He helped me up.
I still remember every single hurtful thing that was said to me, even though I took the suit off.
I have to admit the experience was tough, but I agreed to don the suit crafted by Robert Hall of the special effects company, Almost Human, for one very important reason.
I've been discriminated against. Growing up in Charleston, South Carolina, I was the dark haired, dark skinned girl.
It's amazing to me that me being ethnic and somebody being overweight, we have the same prejudices.
