Critics charge that our students achieve only a superficial grasp of essential subject matter, and that the results of our math and science tests against international competition are atrocious. Nobody, says one writer, seems to understand just what it is that's broken with the system. We're pleased that a school reform movement is underway. It must move rapidly for this country's future. In a nation of over 40 million students, rapid school reform must involve us all.
