Troops loyal to ousted Philippine ruler Marcos have staged an attempted coup,
but it has apparently been suppressed by government soldiers.
The rebels seized a television station and two airmen were killed.
The head of the army says his troops remain loyal to President Aquino.
The new AFP is fully in support of the government of President Aquino.
But there is late word that the rebel soldiers occupying the television station
have begun firing their weapons into the air.
And about 3,000 supporters of both Marcos and Aquino are surrounding the station
where the scene is described as very tense.
