The Washington Apple Commission Board of Directors has now voted not to join in a legal action suit against CBS and the Natural Resources Defense Council.
Several apple growers led by Sunnyside attorney Jay Sandlin have filed a multimillion dollar suit against CBS and the Environmentalist Group for a damaging story on Alar.
The Apple Commission, while not actively joining the suit, did say it would provide help to the growers during the fact-finding process of the lawsuit.
Drug addicts in Tacoma may soon be able to call and have clean needles delivered to them.
Under the plan that may start next month, drug users would call a number and health workers would deliver clean needles to a nearby intersection.
Nearly three years ago, Tacoma was one of the first cities in the nation to start a needle exchange program to fight the spread of AIDS among HIV drug users.
