Police are wondering just how close they came to nabbing one of the two remaining Yakima County jail escapees tonight.
KIMA's Cherise Yu joins us with the latest on what appeared to be a solid lead just outside of Yakima.
Earlier this evening, sheriff deputies served a search warrant at a home in Terrace Heights.
They received a tip that escaped inmate Giano Alimo was at the residence on Commonwealth Drive.
It was a quiet operation as sheriff's deputies closed off a perimeter to enable SWAT teams to get as close as possible.
They thought they had escapee Giano Alimo within their grasp.
KIMA photographer agreed to keep his camera light off so no officers would be directly illuminated.
The main interest was this house.
Information was developed that one of the suspects, Alimo, could possibly be at an address, 3500 block of Commonwealth here in Terrace Heights.
Officers looked for the inmate in the outbuildings and grounds.
Even Alimo's mother showed up, but he was nowhere to be found.
Those living in the home did not know.
