The probe by Special Counsel Lawrence Walsh into the Iran weapons deal will go on even
if his position is declared unconstitutional.
Attorney General Edwin Meese appointed Walsh to a new office within the Justice Department
to protect the probe from legal challenges.
President Reagan told a gathering of newspaper editors Thursday that there is a great moment
of hope for an agreement to reduce nuclear missiles in Europe.
