I'm happy to bring you at this hour the meditation.
It caused to mind a story that I read of a young theological student who was in training and had the opportunity to carry out one of the ordinances of the church and got his ceremony mixed up.
At this time he was baptizing and he confused his baptismal ceremony with the
communion ceremony.
So as he took the candidate down in the water he said, I indeed baptize you in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost with water.
Now drink ye all of it.
Kind of humorous, but that line should have gone with the communion cup.
But Jesus never leaves his disciples and his ministers without adequate information as to how to carry his gospel.
And in the Bible we find that Jesus in the book of John is depicted in many references and in many ways.
Go through it if you please. We may not have time to get you through it all.
But chapter one he's the son of God. Chapter two he's the son of man. Chapter three he's the divine teacher.
Chapter four he's the soul winner. Chapter five he's the great physician. Chapter six he's the bread of life.
Chapter seven he's the water of life. Chapter eight he's the defender of the weak. Chapter nine he is the light of the world.
Chapter ten he is the good shepherd. Chapter eleven he's the resurrection and the life.
Chapter twelve he is the king. Chapter thirteen he assumes the place of a servant.
Chapter fourteen he's the consoler. Chapter fifteen he is the true vine. Chapter sixteen he's the giver of the spirit.
Chapter seventeen he's the great intercessor. Chapter eighteen he's the mild sufferer.
Chapter nineteen he's the uplifted savior. Chapter twenty he's the victory over death.
Chapter twenty one he is the restore of the penitent.
