Three years, a US air jet has skidded off the runway at New York's LaGuardia Airport
Nineteen are dead, four people are missing, it was flight 405, US air bound from LaGuardia to Cleveland
It took off just after 9.30 in a snow storm in New York
47 passengers were on board, four crew members
Witnesses say that the plane headed down the runway, took off and then came back down to the ground and fire up it
And when it hit, it then skidded into Flushing Bay, which is at the very end of runway 13 at LaGuardia
And at that point, people started to scramble to get out
There was fire, a number of the injured, 28 total injured, taken to five area hospitals in the New York area
Managed to get out, there are reports that four literally walked to the Grand Central Parkway not far away
Flagged down a van and were taken to get medical treatment
You see some of the rescue efforts going on, divers went into the water
The front half of the plane, the nose of the plane was submerged, making the rescue very, very difficult
Again, 28 people are out of the plane and they are being treated at area hospitals
Some of the injured have suffered burns and we are told some of those burns are quite severe
Again, 19 people are listed as dead, this is now some three and a half, three and three quarter hours since the crash occurred
And there is still some considerable confusion at LaGuardia as the rescue effort goes on
There are four people still missing on the flight
The flight was headed for Cleveland, Ohio from LaGuardia
It was late due to snow, it had been de-iced twice
We cannot say for certain that weather was a factor, but it certainly was snowing, and it's snowing pretty hard here in the New York area
The dramatic rescue efforts continue, and for those of you on the West Coast, there will be more on your late local news
