Here's what's happening tonight. Well, scientists fully expect Mount St. Helens to erupt again. They say it'll probably happen sooner rather than later. Today, they raised the volcano alert level to its highest point. They ordered an evacuation of the Johnston Ridge Visitor Center just in case the upcoming eruption is bigger than they originally expected. Teresa Reardon has the latest tonight from the mountain. This is what Mount St. Helens looked like before it erupted. Hundreds of people flocked to Mount St. Helens Saturday morning, hoping to see the volcano in action. There it goes. Look at it. Look at it go. They got to see a quick pump of steam. Then, quite unexpectedly, those visitors were told to get out. They said it's time to evacuate. Seismic activity is getting high, so we're heading out. Those evacuations were ordered after scientists recorded harmonic tremors. That's a very special kind of earthquake. It's a sign that magma is moving. Moving to the surface, signaling the possibility of a bigger eruption. But that's not scaring visitors away. I've always loved volcanoes. You know, I'm a volcano hunter. Who just moved farther down the road. Many visitors stopped wherever they could, willing to wait for Mount St. Helens to make its next move.
