This is KXLY-TV, ABC4, Spokane, Coeur d'Alene. Now, from the Larkin broadcast news team in the Inland Northwest, this is News 4 Daytime. Welcome to News 4 Daytime, topping our news this morning. Investigators are trying to figure out what caused a plane to crash into a mountainside near Royal City. A single engine plane went down yesterday morning in heavy fog. Three people from British Columbia died in the crash. Total News 4's Deborah Armstrong is live at the scene with the latest. Deborah, what can you tell us about this plane crash? Well Jason, we just had a photographer fly over the crash site. FAA officials are now investigating, and the Grant County Coroner is also at the crash site to remove the bodies. Again, they were identified as Jordi Howell, Jerry Mail, and Joe Frangial from Canada. They apparently stopped in Moses Lake to go through customs and were on their way to Oregon when they crashed into Saddle Mountain. There were two cowboys herding cattle. They saw it happen, but it took them some time to ride down the mountain and tell authorities. We still have no word on the cause of the crash, but we'll be talking with FAA officials really soon today, and we'll have you an update later at 5 and 6 on News 4. Okay, Deborah, was there any word from ground control, whether or not there was any contact with the pilot before the plane went down? We have not heard that yet. Okay, thanks a lot. Total News 4's Deborah Armstrong live on the scene of that plane crash. Once again, the latest tonight on Total News 4 at 5 and 6. In other news this morning, the federal government has taken fast action on the River Park Square loan. Washington Senator Patty Murray claims a $23 million loan for the project has been taken.
