In response today, Senator Melchers said he may be talking with other members of the Montana
Congressional delegation about amending his bill to make more timber available.
He said one option would be to adjust proposed wilderness on the east side of the Nevada
Mountain to replace the nine million board feet in a timber sale that was lost to fire
near Ovando.
