Over the past month, we've been giving Linda Kalaki the Total View Makeover, and so far she has had her teeth transformed, Botox and laser skin treatment, an entire new wardrobe, and today she's getting the finishing touches. A total hair and makeup transformation. If you missed any of the previous steps of Linda's Total View Makeover, we have a quick recap. Take a look. This is the first time you are just taking care of you. This is all about Linda. You ready for that? Amazing. Linda had a lot of different dental issues. They weren't terrible, Hatice, but the color was not great. So let's see the movie star look that you've been waiting for. You can see from the stretch she's broken out into cystic acne. How do you feel? This is really an emotional moment. It has been something I've dealt with for years. Let's see the new Linda in our brand new look. You are also receiving all of the clothes that you see before you. With the models included. I feel so blessed. I just feel so blessed. I don't know any other way to just say my spirit has really come out. That was so great. So here to take us through the very final steps of her Total View Makeover is beauty expert Jackie Stafford. Welcome back to the View, Jackie. Thanks, Dana. Okay, we said this is the final part of Linda's Total View Makeover. Let's take a look at Linda when she walked into the salon yesterday. Okay, so as you can tell here, she hasn't had a cut for a while. At the moment her hair is in a bit of that growing out in between stage. So we wanted to give her a really glamorous, really wonderful overhaul. Something she could easily create at home as well. So what you did, you took her to the Oscar Blandy salon where she got her finishing touches and new haircuts and new color. Take us through the steps. Well, what we did here with Kyle White, at the moment she's growing out some of the previous highlights. So Kyle started off by evening out her hair tone and lightening up the base from a dark ash to a very dark gold. He's then adding some very bold baby blonde pieces just around the hairline for extra definition. And then some finer buttery blonde highlights all the way through the nakes which really do emphasize Oscar's cut. Now here we have Oscar's cut here. He's going to leave the top long. He's going to take the back shorter to balance out the style and then curve the cut into the nape of the neck. And as you can see the cut here really emphasizes Linda's beautiful bone structure. Wow. Okay, so after Oscar cut her hair, she got her makeup done by celebrity makeup artist Sam Fine. Walk us through that process. Okay, so what Sam did was start off by charging up her eyebrows. He was then bleaching them to complement her new lighter hair color and then applying a cream foundation to even out redness in her skin tone, a taupe eyeshadow and going darker on the lash line, lots and lots of mascara here, and then a nude lip liner as well to add definition to her lips and finishing it with a very sheer bronze gloss. Very nice. Okay, you guys ready to see the new Linda? Alright, let's bring her out, Linda. Now let's bring in Linda. Woohoo! Thank you. Thank you. You look awesome. That is dramatic. Oh my gosh, you look, well, I mean, I always thought you were a pretty girl, but my goodness, you look like a queen now. Don't cry and ruin the eyeliner. Okay, so let's see how the whole transformation from day one took place. Let's see how Linda looked four weeks ago as compared to today. Look at your picture. When you do the exterior makeup, I mean, you had three children under here. You never really thought about yourself your whole life with the children, and you were feeling very insecure. So we've done everything that makes you look as lovely as you are on the exterior. Has it done anything to you inside? It really has. I feel so much more confident in myself. Four children, I should say. Four children. Okay. But I started off saying that I looked at myself as the canvas, as this recreation of myself was coming out, and the creation of the artist in me, along with all the artists that have participated in this transformation, it just has done so much for me inside. You're going to stay like this? I see the beauty inside as well as outside. It's really helped boost my confidence in everything that I need to take the steps now to go on and just carry it. If you have to choose which is more important, the inner beauty or the outer beauty? That's a hard question now. It's been really beautiful. Well, three of your four children were in the audience, and they've been so supportive of you. You brought them when you first came, and they've seen the whole transformation. Erica, what do you think of what happened with mom? Well, I think that she has definitely gained more confidence in herself, and she has more self-esteem, and I'm just really happy for her. Yeah. We are lucky enough to have our great stylists here, Sam Fine, Oscar Blondie, and Kyle White. You guys did a great, great job. Thank you. Thank you. Jackie, she looks great. Now, we also want to give you as a gift some numbers for career counseling in your area and some people who will help you go with that inner beauty that you have to have. Thank you. Thank you so much. All right. Thanks to Jackie Stafford, to the Oscar Blondie, to the great Sam Fine, and to Linda for letting us have some fun here. We'll be back to check on Linda a few months from now to see how she's doing. We'll be right back. Thank you. I don't know about you, but the third section that I flip to in the Ladies Home Journal magazine is called, Can This Marriage Be Saved? I want the bachelor and Helena to watch this. But in reality, it focuses on a different couple each month who are on the verge of separation or divorce to see what can be done to mend their relationship and then what everybody can learn from this. So we have teamed up with the Ladies Home Journal to meet some of these couples whose marriage is in trouble, like 34-year-old Reed and 33-year-old Yvonne Hendricks. They met one night at a bar that Reed's band plays and Reed plays the guitar. And then they dated for five years before they were married, but soon they seemed to lose it all. And they appeared to be two different people. Before they knew it, they had their doubts about whether their marriage would stand the test of time. Take a look. I think the problem started sometime beginning of last year. I know Reed's job is very difficult at times, and he would just come home and be zoned out on the couch. And then I would ask him questions, and I felt like it was bothering him. And I just felt like it wasn't there. And in turn, I was getting more distant from him. She would want to know if there was something that she could do to help, or if I could explain the problems or the pressures that I had at work that I would bring home with me in order to help me. And when she couldn't get the answer that she wanted, she would get angry. It just wasn't leading to a happy marriage. He wouldn't make time for me. He would just go and do his own thing, go out with his friends or go out to the music store, spend hours there or not come home after work immediately or make dinner plans or go on a date with me. I felt like he didn't want to be part of this marriage or didn't want to be part of this household. I felt sad inside and lonely. At times it was difficult to be with our friends because we had these problems that our friends didn't know about. And they seemed very happy, and things were going great for them. And inside I knew that Yvonne and I were having problems. So I would feel jealous. Like, why can't we be like them? Why can't we get along? What are we missing in our relationship? I just couldn't get anywhere. And I just felt like we were so far apart. Even when we went to bed, I just felt like we were so distant. It was difficult for myself to want to be intimate with somebody that I felt didn't understand my problems. And I couldn't explain my problems to, so it just, we weren't clicking. So intimacy did become a problem. I just didn't know what was going on with him. I don't know what they were growing pains or him trying to figure himself out or I did something wrong or he was just not into Yvonne anymore. It was kind of scary. I always felt like I could handle the problems or the situations on my own. It got to the point where I knew I couldn't anymore. I was hurting Yvonne, I was hurting myself. I knew that we couldn't get to the next level without help. Okay, so now they have help and Yvonne and Rita here. I don't know, you're both smiling. It looks like this marriage got saved. But I won't give the happy ending away yet. Pretend I didn't say that. So, what was it? Lovely, wasn't it? And Flo Rossoff, who was the therapist and the counselor who helped you. Let's start with Reed. What was his problem and what did you tell him? Well, just overall, the basic problem was that Reed was in conflict occupationally. And he dealt with his conflict by withdrawing and being silent. You mean he wanted to be something he wasn't? The fundamental problem that Reed had was that he had a deep inner conflict between wanting to be a traditional husband and also trying to fulfill his artistic vision of being a musician. And he felt that that was a problem he had to deal with himself. So you told him that he could... So you didn't want to burden Yvonne by telling her this, right? No, I didn't. I felt that it was my problem. It would be very difficult to explain it. And in doing that, I shut Yvonne out. So what did you learn from Flo? I learned that in order to actually communicate and have a healthy relationship, I had to accept my own situation at first. Your own conflict. Exactly. And then only then, after I did that, could I open up to Yvonne, who was on my side the entire time. But you never knew. I didn't really know it. I felt that I would be burdening her if I did. And what was the situation with Yvonne? Well, Yvonne was a romantic. She had an idea of a marriage, candlelight dinners and moonlight walks and lots of love-making. Sounds good to me. And when she really looked at Reed, Reed was sort of walking around the house morose and withdrawn. And she just had no idea how to actualize her dream. There were three things that I basically worked on with Yvonne. Number one is to have her see that just because Reed was feeling a certain way, it didn't mean that it was a reflection of her. But that was a conclusion that she came to with her own interpretation and not a description of reality. When she was able to see that, I encouraged her to speak to Reed and express her feelings. And when she did that, she was really surprised to find out that it really was not anything. It didn't have much to do with her. That's one of the three things that I worked on with Yvonne. We always keep talking about communication until it becomes a cliché, but in your situation, how did it make a difference? What did you work on, Yvonne? I just think that I internalized a lot of what was going on with Reed and I thought I was the one to blame. And I think once he broke down and realized that I was on his team, he can really talk to me. And through effective communication, I think we kind of had meeting of the mind. So now do you talk all the time? All the time. Yes. I think that's the best person I think we ever were. We've known each other for over ten years and it's kind of great. And how long ago was this therapy that you had? Now five months ago. And this marriage is saved? Absolutely. Yes? You feel good about things? I feel great. What do you think that other people can learn? Because many people do have this thing, you know, the wife feels he doesn't care, the husband feels she doesn't listen. What did you learn that you can tell other people? Well, I think the main thing people should realize is that you're going to get into arguments. That's a fact. But, you know, it's nice to have an outside look. If you go to friends and family, they may form opinions. They love you, but they may steer in the wrong direction. Going to see Flo was going to see somebody who didn't know us, but she knew our problem. So you think counseling is a very good thing? Absolutely. Dr. Ross has really helped us. Tremendously. And what would you tell other women who don't have this relationship with their husband? You know, you say to your husband, what's wrong? And he says nothing. Right. You know, tell me about it. No. How did you break through that? Well, I just kind of kept a lot of it to myself. I tried not to speak with my girlfriend about it because women have the ability to talk amongst themselves. But I kind of sat down with myself and really thought, like, was it me? And through learning to communicate with Reed, I was able to realize that I understand the opposite sex. When the relationship got better emotionally, did it affect the physical part of the relationship too? Mm-hmm. Yeah. Did I put that correctly? Yes, you did put it correctly. It's difficult to try to maintain intimacy when you're fighting all the time. But when you finally open up to the other person, we knew we were in love. That wasn't the problem. We were just off track. And once we got back on track, things got a lot better. Well, you did feel very good. You did feel very good. And the main thing is that it's the real thing now. It's not a standard to live up to. And that made all the difference in the world. Be yourselves. Be yourselves. Easier said than done. To strive, and not to be yourself, but strive to accept each other for the way that they really are. And I think they're trying to do that. Thank you very much. Thank you for being with us. I love happy endings. Thanks for having us. I really do. I hope it continues to be that way. Reed and Yvonne Hendricks and Flo Rosser, thank you. Obviously, this marriage could be saved. Not all can, not all can, but this was. We'll be right back. Thank you.
