Tonight on Comedy Central is Battle Box continuing quarterfinal action. In the middleweight class, spin orbiting force tries to strong arm the ballistic Blade Runner. Then Hazard attempts to roll over slippery Turtle Roadkill. Finally, Super Heavyweight's rocked the Battle Box as terrifying Gintzu attempts to slice Ronin to ribbons. The road to the Battle Box Championships goes right through Fort Mason tonight. Hello everyone and welcome to Comedy Central's Battle Box where we have three quarterfinal matches tonight. I'm Sean Salisbury and always I'm here with the Battle Box fight doctor Bill Dwyer. Tonight Sean we got two middleweight elimination matches so the parts are going to fly and we got a long awaited Super Heavyweight bout between Gintzu and Ronin. Well the first quarterfinal fight tonight coming up is spin orbiting force and it's taken on Blade Runner and word in the pit is that Blade Runner right now is the favorite. Oh yeah and for good reason too. Blade Runner laid a serious beating on bad attitude to get here. She's a knockout artist with that spinning technique. Beautiful. The spin orbiting force was built by Michael Winter from Madison, Wisconsin. It's main weapon is a spinning blade attached to an actuating arm. Well Michael Winter is the father of Lisa Winter, Tantamushi's builder. What is it like living in a two robot house? Well to find out we spent some time with wife and mother Becky Winter. I'm Becky Winter and my husband is Mike Winter and he has a robot spinning orbiting. So what's his name? Soful. So what is his name? Mike. The robot is spin orbiting force. I cannot build a robot but I do collect robot toys and Godzilla and other things like that. Lisa would love to make a robot that does something around the house so she can get out of the chores I think. Mike is more into the destruction end of it. Mike's idea of a romantic evening is going to a salvage yard just west of here, a little town and they have junk all over the place. It's heaven. Well we're going to the battle box floor to get the introduction from our Mark Beale for this middleweight quarter final action. Introducing first in the red square to my left, packing a pulverizing punch. Bring yourselves to applaud for super orbiting force. And its opponent in the blue square, he's a sci-fi guy who makes the metal fur fly. He's a stalker, he's a stunner, they call him Blade Runner. Red drivers are you ready? We are ready. Alright red drivers are ready. Blade Runner's builder Ilya Pulyakov is a mechanical engineering student at SUNY Buffalo. Ilya initially was going to call Blade Runner Pinky. The lights are on, it's robot fighting time. Yeah. Spin orbiting force and Blade Runner. Alright battle of drivers here, middleweights, you know they're going to be quicker. No contact as of yet, Blade Runner off the quick. Spin orbiting force, 2000 RPM's a minute. Those big old arms, he wants to get inside, push Blade Runner around and come down with that blade. Take a look at the spin there. Giving us a little taste. Yeah they are. Not doing anything, just putting on a nice show. Feeling each other out right now, take a look at this. A little bit of a taunt going on for Blade Runner. Remember on the battle box floor you'll see those Hell Razors, but don't get too close to the ground. There will be the kill saws. You just mentioned kill saws, boom. Blade Runner goes flying, but he comes back strong. Spin orbiting force around. He's underneath him. I'll tell you what. That boy is doing nothing. Blade Runner is definitely the aggressor. Take a look at this now. Ram Rocks, not to my suspect, the post bolties are made of metal. Got a little taste of tire there. Oh nice spinning move. Look at Blade Runner. There he goes. He's going to get him some points. You know what I like about Blade Runner's slots, he's getting in so tight that that actuating arm cannot do the cutting. Exactly. Oh but now look, he's giving him a little flossing. We got ourselves one hell of a fight going on here. Blade Runner doing some great driving. He's staying inside the arm. Oh now he's getting, look at that, the Hell Razor brings him right up. And a little bit of separate, almost like an official separate the two boxes. We're under a minute here in this middle way quarter final bout. We got a great one going on. There he goes. Oh a little taste of bolt, robot and tire. I thought the spinning RPMs would slow down for a minute. Neither one of these robots is backing down, coming at one another. There we go. Bill it looks like spin limiting force is keeping Blade Runner from spinning fast enough for a spike to use the damage. Yeah we haven't seen any spinning from Blade Runner. He's just been coming at him with the wedge. No damage there. There we go, there's more flossing going on. Oh nice coverage by Blade Runner. No flat there in between tire and Blade Runner. You know I love low man and low man usually wins in these bouts. There it is, the buster. They back off. Killsaws are coming at Blade Runner. You're going to see it right here. There's a pop, doesn't do anything. There he goes flying. You see a little smoke. Stunned him for a minute and he backs up. Now you see the pushing and the shoving and the grappling. Two big sumo wrestlers here. The judges at ArenaSide have scored a 5-4 decision for the winner and advancing to the semi-finals. Super orbiting force. Blade Runner the favorite going into it. Let's get to the battle stats Bill and see how this one was won. Spin orbiting force letting both slam 7-4 and hazard damage 5-1. Blade Runner taking the jabs category 4-2. What an opening bout. Don't you get off that soap but stay tuned. There's more middleweight quarterfinal action ahead as hazard looks to squash Turtle Roadkill. Yeah, baseball has its field of dreams and we have the battle box of destruction. Well, our next match is also a middleweight quarterfinal bout and the winner will go on to face the winner of the first fight, Spin Orbiting Force. Hazard's builders are Tony Bucciani and Dan Danick. Its weapon is a big spinning lawnmower blade on top of a robot. Turtle Roadkill was built by 12-year-old Sam Steyer from San Mateo, California. Well, Bill Nye tells us why Hazard's a favorite in this one. Built like an upside down lawnmower, Hazard rises only 15 centimeters off the ground. It has four individual drive motors and two weapons motors to power its chrome moly hardened blade that spins at 1500 RPM. Hazard also has a titanium ramp to give opponents that extra little BattleBot love shot. Well, we're going to give you fans some love. It's quarterfinal middleweight action. We need to get to the introduction so the mayhem can begin. He's a helicopter from hell who will make your brains dwell. Lock up the young ones. It's Hazard! And his opponent in the blue square, it's a robot jock who loves to shell shot. He's a snapper and a yapper. So turn in your clapper for Turtle Roadkill. Dan builds and supplies electrical components for most of the other builders in the tournament. Sam Steyer has a brother, Gus, who has a lightweight robot, the Crusher. They got started building robots with their grandfather and have been competing since 1996. Shout it out loud, people. The box is locked. The lights are on. It's robot fighting time. We got Hazard. We got Turtle Roadkill. Turtle Roadkill, he's quick, but he's backing up. Oh, nice pop. Who gets points on that? Both aggressors. Turtle Roadkill coming right at him. That blade not doing anything. There are. The Chillsaws come out periodically throughout the bout, deployed at any time. Oh, Turtle Roadkill goes flying. If he keeps ramming Hazard, that blade will never get up to speed, Sean. You see the Ramrods come out too ineffective. A lot of ramming going on here. Blade's not very effective. We got ourselves a good middleweight foul here. Oh, nice job. Nice job. By Hazard running Turtle Roadkill in there into the spike strip. We need to see some spinning. Both these guys with spinning capabilities are not doing it. We're about halfway through this bout, and I believe Turtle Roadkill is going to have to knock Hazard into some Chillsaws and hope that it does some of the damage to win because he's not doing it himself. Right up on the Ramrod. Nice job. Oh, funny. They're double whammy. Both the Hell Razors and the Chillsaws. Nice job again. Hazard's in the ring, the Battle Box ring, doing more damage right now than either of these Battle Box fighters. Getting right underneath them. There's that beautiful wedge, levered right into the spike strip. We got ourselves a great battle. Turtle Roadkill's got to start scoring some points. He sure does, and you know what? If you're waiting for this decision, Turtle Roadkill, bad idea. Am I wrong or does Turtle Roadkill look like Darth Vader's helmet? It looks exactly like Darth Vader's helmet, and it looks to be incompressible. Oh, he's shrugged his shoulders. The 12-year-old's giving it, oh, look at this now. Moving and dancing around the ring. He's counting out, I hear some counting. He's got to give it up for the kid. Didn't even get to the standing eight count either because there wasn't enough time left in this bout. It goes a distance, handshakes all around. There you see the drivers of Hazard. This is a big blow. Boom, this knocks out Hazard's blade. Right here, oh, up and over the kill saw. Hazard was able to stay alive. Look at that mark. That arena side has scored a 9-0 decision. Advancing to the middleweight semifinals, the Red Square Hazard. There it is, 9-0. Hazard's moving on to the middleweight semifinals. Still, we need to look at the battle stats of this dominating bout by Hazard. All right, battle stats are close in the jabs. Hazard had 4, TRK 3. Turtle Roadkill had 3 Hazard damages, but Hazard had 4. But in slams, Hazard all over Turtle Roadkill, 4-zip. Let's get down to the battle box floor to find out more about this fight. Okay, well, can you tell me what happened out there? I got killed. He was much lower and he just kept smacking me into the wall. Okay, better luck next time. The battle box floor will begin to quake as Gintzu and Ronin pound on each other in the super heavyweights semifinal next. This season in South Park, there's no going back. Hello, dude. The young titans of the brave new cyber world are pretty darn smart. So when some guys from Ask G have gotten the relical quadra actions from their girlfriends, we expected a smart response. This thing's gonna chew up my face. Will I get a close shave? No. But the girls insisted. Slots for longer hair and holes for stubble were definitely the way to go. It's only been a few days, but I'm liking it. They loved how easy it was to clean. And needed a quick bath. And no one could escape their enthusiasm. I love this thing. I just shave on the go, nice and smooth. Here, give it a feel. The Noroco quadra action has satisfied 99% of the guys who tried it. For more info, Ask G's. I think he likes it. Noroco, put it to the test. Comedy Central's BattleBots is back. The last match of the night hits super heavyweights in a quarterfinal battle. The deadly Gintzu will be trying to cut out the mechanical heart of Ronin. Oh, it's gonna be a great one. Take a look at Ronin dispatching Odin in an earlier match. He's a treaded robot. He's got great maneuverability. You know what's interesting about this build is that Gintzu's very, very confident coming into this super heavyweight bout. We need to find out more why. Champion caliber super heavyweight robots come along very rarely. One of the biggest, baddest, and best is Gintzu. Creators Trey Roske and Greg Munson size up their competition for the super heavyweight title. Minion's a very tough robot. I mean, that big giant saw of his in the front is something to be reckoned with for sure. But he only got one saw. We got six, right? Yeah, we got a lot of saws. And the claws are tough, he talks tough. Any robot with a French name doesn't deserve to be in this sport. We fought Mekaton one time and did pretty good against him, broke a few legs. We were way ahead in the points and then he ended up winning, so we'll have to have a rematch some day. Ronin, he's always been an easy kill. Peter Averinsons, who built Ronin, is notorious for having his robot fall apart when he goes up against somebody else. Gintzu might look like a fancy showy jewelry case, but it's not. We got the saws behind us and we're ready to do some chopping. As soon as you close those doors and that green light comes on and your robots are on, it's a whole other story. There's no mercy. There's no friends when you're in that arena. Ladies and gentlemen, before the destruction, let's get to the introduction. The Super Heavyweight Division introducing in the red square to my left from Lama Motors. It will slice, it will dice, it will never be nice. There's nowhere to hide from the six-foot-wide Gintzu. And in the blue square, it's the Samurai Slammer, who should be in the slammer. Roll out your white flag of surrender. You've got a blind date with Ronin. Yeah! Gintzu is so complicated, Trey Grosky has to use three remote controls and drivers to maneuver in the battle box. Peter's seven-year-old daughter, Cassidy, also wants to grow up to build killer robots. Her hero is Tenomushi builder, Lisa Winter. It's robot fight time. It's Gintzu and Ronin. Gintzu, the confident one, coming into this battle. You can see him right out of the chute, going to initiate contact. Nice pop and he comes up right over the top. That can be dangerous. Did you see the bend in the axle there? See look how bent it is now. They initiated the contact, but it's a little bit bent in the center there. Can't hold up a Super Heavyweight. Look at the chain hanging from him. That's a drive train hanging from him, Sean. That is not good early on for the aggressor. Ronin just kind of hunting and pecking around, picking his spot. And you see the damage in the drive train, the chain's flopping. Over there for Gintzu, who came into this, very, very confident. He's still driving. He doesn't have the same kind of speed as he has. Look at that thing. It's just hanging. Wasn't he relying on speed? Oh yeah. Gintzu. He may have broken an axle. Not moving very fast. He was relying on speed early on. Take a look at this now. He's still coming at him, but he's got nothing. Coming at him with not much. It's amazing how quickly a fight can turn around from the beginning. He's going right at that saw blade of Ronin. Those plunging sticks aren't doing much. He's coming right over the top of those. Gintzu kind of reminds me of something right after, like a Stephen King novel, doesn't he? I'm more of an old Henry guy myself. I love those surprise endings. Super heavyweight quarterfinals. Winner moving on, loser going home. And right now it looks as if Gintzu is inoperable. If he isn't, he's not moving much. It's just three minutes. Yeah, Ronin. He's still in capacitation, only dominating this. Got him on the board. Yeah, the plunging stick's working against him. He's taking in tight end. Yeah, but why would he lose his stand? If you've got somebody in your path to get down the board, why would you continue to drive and knock them off and allow them back and about? He wants to cut them off. He wants to kill them. Well, what under a minute? He wants to be a man. Yeah, but you know what? You don't always have to go for the knockout. Sometimes being methodical and getting the winner on points. And I think Ronin's opened up the pan of worms. He continues to battle this. Hit the move and get out of there. Take no attention to the girl beside me. Go for the knockout, please. What's the matter with you? He's got a little bit of a countdown by the referee. It looks like Gintzu's trying to convince him that he's still operating. He is. But you're winning on points. Save your body. Everything is final. Ah! Oh, look at that. Take a look at Ronin and see if he's still alive and well despite his winding down. Oh, look at that. He's scared nothing. The axle's coming out. He's lost his shield. Super heavyweight. That's a play. This one's pretty clear. That super heavyweight went to bantamweight. Fight is over. He's lost so much hardware, Sean. He's a lightweight now. Yes, he is. Gintzu started as the aggressor. Fight changed quickly. Let's get to the replay. Oh, nice hug. That's sweet. Let's see that exciting move. And now let's go down and check it out, Bill. Yeah, Gintzu came out strong, but he started losing. Sawblade's right here. All right, look. He lost one of the kill saws there. And when he climbed up on top of Ronin, it cost him another sawblade. Ladies and gentlemen, three judges on arena side have scored a 7-2 decision advancing to the semifinals in the Blue Square. How about it? Ronin with the 7-2 decision over Gintzu. Ronin's moving on to the semifinals. After Gintzu lost the sawblade, party was over. We'll be right back with the battle stats and the hit of the week on Comedy Central's Battle Box. He had a couple of saws. You had a saw. I saw a slow moving robot with a good strategy elaborate. Thank you very much. The whole point was to put on a good show and we just went for it. There wasn't much strategy other than I just wanted to keep pounding on him as much as I can to keep the audience happy. Congratulations Peter. Thank you very much. It's been a great slugfest we've had here tonight. So let's recap the action. Remember the first quarterfinal match out was Blade Runner. He was sliced and diced by spin orbiting force. The next quarterfinal bout saw hazard advance by running over Turtle Roadkill. It'll be moving on to the middleweight semifinals to face spin orbiting force. Yeah and then the last quarterfinal event of the evening was in the super heavyweight class. And Ronan gave a good butt kick into Gintzu. Well what a great night it's been. So for Randy and Jason Squar, Donna Dierko, Bill Nye, I'm Sean Salisbury. It's been great for me too. I'm Bill Dwyer. It wouldn't be to complete BattleBots without showing you the hit of the week.
