Gilmister closes it. Walters picks it up but it went forward. Once again good defense there from Wayne Collins and Wally Fulton Smith. We have a look here. Gilmister trying to turn to make the ball available just cost that ball up. It was a good hit from Collins that jolted Gilmister. Warren Piddle, Piddle number 36 Tony Piddle he's on for Osmond. This scrum packing just 10 meters out from the St George line but it's a dragon feed. New hazard, new playing half back for that scrum as he was chosen Potter at 5'8". There has been a little bit of swapping around of their roles in this match. Fulton Smith hits it up the center. He's met by Allen. Piddle, Piddle the replacement player on. Mackay with the boot and it's away from Shearer. Shearer has some room to move. He has plenty of space but he won't get away from Ricky Walford. He manages to duck in one direction to escape. He was hoping that Plowman would have stayed on the back line, on the outside there but Plowman came inside. Shearer there. Kessman good hands to Gilmister. Good constructive work by the forwards working together. They're up inside the 5 there by the look of it. A free playing advantage, waited some time to blow the penalty up. Langer quickly looks for touch. The tap will be taken, just 24 meters out. Broncos running into the wind, they're down by 6 points. Kessman straight and hard. A lot of straight running from the forwards on both sides today. Allen. Terry Madison on the touch line. Fulton Smith doing a lot of work now for St George camp. Gilmister across field. Only 10 meters out, Langer calls for it. Jones has plenty of runners, Miles for a line and Miles is just short. And he has lost the ball in the tackle, it just slipped out, carried it with him. There's a playing move here if you have a look at the run around. Gene Miles not just getting the ball, trying to reach out to get it. But just knocking on here. We have the run around here from Cured Walters, on to Chris Jones and a short ball here to Gene Miles running into a little bit of traffic there. But a good tackle there by Cameron Wade. Gulley steps through the tackle and he's off. Looking for support but he couldn't get away from, he ran off. The runners entitled to be a tackle there, a penalty there. Coins, shrugs off one. This is a penalty to St George. Holding down the tackle man. Have a look here, Peter Markoin just being held down a little bit too long there by Cured Walters. But the penalty could have come on the previous tackle when Gavin Allen. There's no doubt he was entitled to give the penalty on that occasion though. Cured Walters was all over him. Peter Gill, he is ready to come on. He's going to be used plenty of times in this second half because it has been a fast, tough game. Fullerton Smith, puts his head down. Good old style front row play there from the second rower. Spring on the blind side, South can't hang on to the pass. It was wide of him and the Broncos have it through Jones. It was very reminiscent of Villa Juarez days. Brian Smith now, who was the coach of Villa Juarez, but they like to work the short blind from tap place. Well, there's those drop balls from Brisbane there, nine to three. They can't afford to squander position like that. They're going to get back into this game. Up the center they go, Gilmour to Langer. Miles, one off the ruck. Langer calls for it. He's got his back set. Chris Jones had three men on one, got the pass out there, but in came Coyne off his wing to cut them down. Hand over on the last tackle. Peter Spring gets it to Coyne. Coyne is having a whale of a game. South, down South. What a game Mark Coyne is having. He is everywhere in defense and attack. He's made a number of busts. The pass is wide of Mackay. Beatty. Good tackle from Miles. On the Broncos, 22, Priddle. Collins. George had plenty of forwards on the blind side. The backs are spread wide on the open. Back it comes. They cut to the blind side with Potter. Potter cuts through. The kick for Gil. Gil was held back by Dowling. Gil may have got there anyway. No. Referee Ward says no try. Could have only been a penalty try here if we have a look. Touch judge is in. Here's the replay with Potter. Putting the little kick through. And Gil held back. A hand was held back by Dowling as Shearer came across. We have a look here. The little grubber put through by Potter. Gene Miles missed him initially, but Greg Dowling just trying to hold him back. I don't think he affected his momentum at all. Hello. He's got a penalty. He's got a penalty and it had to be a penalty. Good work from the touch judge there to alert the referee. But that slight holding back of the hand from Peter Gil may just have prevented him scoring a try. We have a look at replay here and we see Greg Dowling just holding his right arm back there. Well, that was just enough. Could have only been a penalty try. Could have been justified in giving a penalty try. The referee has to be certain a try would have been scored to award a penalty try, but he certainly was entitled to think about it on that occasion. And again, Warren, the St. George side getting good value of that switch behind the ruck. Yeah, they moved it to the open and cut back to the blind with Potter. Johnny Pid, what did you think of this? Yeah, well, he's well and truly held there. Quite a hit for everyone to see, but a little stiff. Could have well been, although he didn't get his hands to the ball. That extra second could be very valuable. Dale Shearer didn't really get down to the ball as it was bouncing into the in goal area either. He seemed intent on getting a boot to it, but gave Gil a chance. Vicki Walford, 132 points, 17 games last season. This one has pushed wide. It was straight, but it was always wide. That's the first one he's missed today. Still 14 points to 8 in favor of the Dragons. Very nearly adding a try there. The crowd on the hill has built up throughout this match. There'd be even more here if they'd realized a little earlier that the Dragons were going to perform so well. Right in the box seat to win this match with the win. They're leading by six. Priddle. John Howard, you like to be making a living tipping football. Quick shortcut to going broke, Arthur. Good run from Collins. McKay. Spring. If you lay down for a couple of minutes, you're dead in this game. Potter works it wide. That's a poor pass from McPotter. Goulet standing wide. As Gene Miles has been out in the Broncos centers, there's Goulet standing in the St. George back line. Priddle makes a few meters. Potter calls for it on the open side. Up it goes. Through goes Gill. Plenty of pressure coming through on Shearer, but he takes it well. And Gill nails him. I thought Potter might have taken a risk there. They had plenty of numbers out wide. They could have run it in the last. The crowd getting right behind the Dragons here. Kerrod Walters. Stops. Gill missed up. Ducks under the tackle. Brad McKay hurt his arm in that tackle. Madison. St. George last won a Premiership in 1979. I wonder if they can continue on from this good effort right through the season this year. Wade knocks it on. Cameron Wade unable to gather it in. Playing on the wing now, Wade. It was really there. He just rushed it a little. We have a look here. The ball along the ground here. He had plenty of time. Should have trapped with his legs. And it could be a critical error. Bad mistake from Cameron Wade. He's moved to the wing with Mark Coyne in the centers. 7-2 the scrums. Still none against the feed though. Kevin Walters trying to get away from Potter. What a tremendous battle these two are having. Shearer. Taken by Priddle. Langer. Miles. Almost took it out of the hands of Willie Kahn. Broncos into St. George territory for a few times this half. Dowling. Gilmister. Knocked by Wade. It's six more tackles. Wade manages to get hold of it. Kahn on top of him. Broncos going down the short line there but that pass was never on. Gilmister should have locked up. Priddle. He's done plenty of work since coming on. Spring. Peter Spring suspended last season when he had a run in with Newcastle's Scott Carter. He's making the most of being on the field today. Gulley. It's the fifth tackle. Potter decides he'll kick. He's forced to throw it away as he's under pressure from Madison. Wade has it. He'll need to kick. It's the last. It's a useful kick from Wade. Had no angle to work with. He's picked up 15 meters. We have a look here. Just a short kick there. They had enough pressure on Peter Gill there. It was on the last tackle. He did his best. He gained probably about 15 to 20 meters there. Potter's the leading tackler of the game with 22. Tremendous defense from the 5'8". Brad McKay is getting some attention on his wrist. And Gavin Allen leaving the field for Brisbane. Andrew Tessman on. Johns. Johns determined running but Potter gets him again. Potter has now made 22 tackles and he is equal top with Collins for St. George. Kerrard Walters confused. He wasn't too sure which way to go. Renoff has it. Langer. Miles. Walters nowhere to go. He throws it back to Dowling. Dowling held by Gill. Chris Johns receiving some attention on a hand injury. Madison goes up the center. When he spun. Wayne Collins all side in that run. Madison spun. He was looking for support. No one was with him. It's the fifth tackle now. Langer puts it up. Once more it's gone too high and not deep enough. And flying high. Magnificent work there from Michael Beatty. He committed himself to the ball. Tremendous take here. We also see Darren South coming in. But Michael Beatty virtue pinching the ball out of Darren South. Watch Darren South there going up. Great take. George inside their own quarter. They can't afford to make a mistake down in this area. To give the Broncos a sniff of hitting back. Six point lead to the Dragons 14 to 8. That kick off the side of the food of New York lost by Kahn. I think you'll find that Willie Kahn probably was a good play even though it wasn't intended to go there. Because I think he had to contend with the sun there John. He probably did there. He got a bad one but those sort of mistakes you can't afford. You'll be behind by six points and you need to try desperately. Another change and Gene Miles is leaving the field. The skipper's off. I'd say we'll see Miles again before the game is out as Potter takes off. He's been more than a handful for Michael Potter for Kevin Walters. Gill. Gulley down the touch line. A cross comes run off. Testman chases as well. And Gulley throwing it back inside. It's taken by Gillemus. Gulley realised he was going to be pushed into touch. He decided he might as well hope. He's tried inside. Well he stood up there for a long time. He had the opportunity. The trial was on. Had some George support. Been a little bit more quicker. Penalty goes to the Broncos. Potter one of the players entangled in the play of the ball. We have a look here. Kevin Walters. David Newy coming over the top but holding Kevin Walters down. And being leg-wrapped there by Potter. Just didn't release his ankles. Testman. 20 minutes to go. With St George leading by six. The Broncos won't be panicking yet but you can see the look on their faces. They're getting a little worried. I think that I've noticed one is they seem to be bunching a bit. The skipper and the coach alongside each other. A couple of words directly from Wayne Bennett to Gene Miles. Suppose that's another advantage of the interchange. The coach can actually come and have a word directly to more of his players than he could before. Tremendous defense there by Cameron Wade on Rinov. That's the last tackle. Langer with the kick. And it's a good looking kick. It forces South back towards his goal line. South decides to weave back towards the touch line but he couldn't link up with Cameron Wade. Will he calm there? Brad McKay we saw being treated for an ankle and arm injury a little while ago. Possible fracture for Brad McKay. We'll check on that in a moment as Kevin Walters. Testman. They're only eight meters out. Great defense once again there by Michael Potter. There's a good one on Walters. Dowling. Karen Walters. They go to the open side. Long balls to get it clear. Back inside is Gilmister. It's a Jewish defense. Red at well. Spring there with Collins. Kevin Walters down the blind. Rinov on the burst. Rinov halfway through. Kahn is there. Kahn takes him and scores. By Willie Kahn. Picked it up low and on his fingertips. Rinov really hit that half a gap with full pace. Full ball. Managed to shove his way through enough to get his hands free. Good ball from Walters to give Rinov something to run onto. Rinov pushing halfway through. Fights to get his hands free and great work from Willie Kahn. Quickly gets it down as Priddle arrives. This is a great ball here by Walters. Kevin Walters. But this is tremendous running here. Just getting on the outside of Coyne. Coyne does well here. But way just a little bit out of position and a great pass there right as he's going down to Willie Kahn. A tremendous try. It's a great try. Certainly was good work here by Rinov who's a rising star in this Brisbane side. And Kahn quickly gets it down. Willie Kahn has scored, or scored 15 tries last year to be the leading, co-leading try-scorer in the competition with Ashley Gordon and Malmininger. 15 tries. And on the board again in this season. Kerrod Walters having a break. Terry Madison has a very important but a very difficult kick. Only half a metre in from touch and he comes back and checks it once more. 14 points to 12 in favour of St George. This kick can level the scores. St George will be watching this one. Madison, half a metre in from the touch line. Needs to put this through to get the scores on level pegging. Moves in. It's a shocker. Terrible kick from Terry Madison who's usually so consistent with the bird. It's 14 points to 12. Well if you give the Broncos four or five rucks in your court, you're in trouble. Here they show again good passing, good skill by Rinov and some strength. Flips a small ball out to Willie Kahn and he makes sure of it. You're right John, that was the result of sustained pressure. Yeah well let's see how good the Broncos are. They're going to call on all their talents now and commitment. And Ken Sainz hold them out. We've got 16 minutes of exciting action coming up as Alan Langer makes a dreadful mistake. He must have been watching Greg Alexander last night. Dreadful mistake from Langer. Spilling the kick off. He wasn't facing into the sun. Alfie just missed time this. He was trying to turn his back to give the ball to Dale Shearer there coming through. So George Scrumwind south on the blind side. St George, can they take advantage of that mistake now? Just what they wanted. South stumbling. Held by Miles who wasn't off the field very long. Only 11 meters out. Collins, Priddle. Priddle still going. Priddle pulling through the tackle of G. Collins decides to have a go. Gilmurster grabs him. The backs are very deep for St George. Right back to the half way is the wing away. They go to the blind side. Gil hits it. Gets the pass away but it went forward. Coyne on his back was almost there. The defense was pretty good from the Broncos. Once again St George tried to work the short blind but not a very good pass there from Spring. But the overhead pass from Gil down to Coyne just going forward. And a winner gets the head for St George. So another bonus for the Dragons. Bullock and Smith bullocking his way. The Broncos are short on the far side. Collins comes this way. Goes to Spring. Collins again. St George may have done better to have moved it wide. They had the opportunity now the defense has said. New. Has South running off him. Desperate tackle from Miles. He couldn't get him. Shearer does. Does he get it down now? South has scored a try. He says yes. That's a fair try. Great run from South. He really came on the burst. It looked as if they pinned him. St George 18. Brisbane 12. Have a look at the determination. He comes off the short ball here from New. And South. Only a very small play. Walters going too high there and Shearer who is a strong player himself. But if you have a look here he twists. Shows a lot of determination as a testman comes in over the top. And a try to St George. Great determination there from South as Kevin Walters slipped off the top. And Shearer simply didn't have the strength. Did he get the ball down? Well I would say so in that collapse of players. And referee Ward was well positioned. He had an in goal judge as well. If you have a look there on this situation here. It looks as though Andrew G might have. Not Andrew G. Andrew Testman might have forced. I reckon Shearer might have been able to hold him up there. But the weight of Testman coming in over the top created the try. Could well have been so. And South. Well wasn't he happy. Darren South. Great try from the full back. New fed him the lovely ball. Kerrard Walters coming back out. No doubt with instruction from the coach. So George have established this six point lead once more. Don't the crowd love that? Can Ricky Walford make it an eight point lead? Yes. Right on target once again. From in front. Twenty points to twelve. Well the scrum win to Saints against the Feet sets up this goal line attack. Here's South chiming in just on the fringe of the ruck with a little bit skinny the Broncos. He pushes forward over the goal line. Twist to the body. I would say he's got that ball down. At a good point you mentioned John that scrum win against the Feet. That really did give St George the opportunity to mount that pressure. Of course Kerrard Walters off during that period. But I suppose they would have used that. Trevor Gilmire stood there but. That's interesting too isn't it. Yeah. No wonder Kerrard Walters is back out there again. Shouldn't make any difference Artie if your feet's alright. Not the way they're being caged these days. This kick bouncing into the in goal area. Sheerah hoping it'll go dead and it obliges. Gilmister and Gavin Allen. Plenty of tension on their faces. They realise the Broncos have got an uphill struggle. There's eleven minutes to go. George creeping up inside that ten metre line. Dowling. Tries to bust his way through. There he is. Brisbane leading 26 to 20 in the missed tackles. Too many missed tackles by the Broncos. Miles. Miles gets his arm free. Madison backs up. Langer. Once again great work there by Michael Potter there. He shut that movement out. Sheerah. Walters. Johns. Renoff. The ball is loose. Back goes Kahn. It looks as if New may have been impeded a little by Kevin Walters. Kahn brings it back around. Six more tackles. It's a George hand that knocked it down. Gee. Alan Langer's been fairly well contained apart from that first ten minutes of the match. Paul Osborne ready to come on. Dowling. Great play by Greg Dowling. A penalty. This is a great power. A bit of work here by Greg Dowling here. He gets up, plays the ball quickly, wins the penalty here as he's tripped by Priddle. Quick tap from Langer. Miles as into the open space. He comes to South. Takes him on. Has support in Madison. Only five metres short. Quick tap. Gaining results there for the Broncos. They're right on the attack. St George have only got a few players on the far side. The Broncos come this side. Dowling. Yeah they went the wrong way in that. Dowling's pass intercepted by Collins and the Broncos have blown it. They should have passed to the left. They had the numbers on the left. The Broncos there. St George was scrambling to cover the far side of the field in defence. They were well short and the pass came to the grandstand side. We've seen both teams fail to really take advantage of the numbers when they get close to the line a number of times. South. 20 points to 12 in favour of St George. An upset on the way here. Osborne. It's the fifth tackle. New is deep. Dowling was heading in his direction but realised he wasn't going to get close to him without a lot of effort and decided to give up the chase. Calm. Just short of the halfway. Walters. Plowman. Walters heads across field. He goes back to find Chris Johns. Kangaroo tourists linking up on the halfway. Dowling. Looking for Walters. That pass went forward. Shearer's racing away for a try but the pass clearly went forward. Yeah touch and go decision here. Have a look. Greg Dowling forcing his way through and trying to slip the ball over the top. I think it's a touch and go. I couldn't see anything wrong with that pass. Well yeah I suppose actually looking at the replay it looked flatter than I thought with the naked eye. It's a good piece of work. Didn't quite come off. And Shearer was on his way to the trial line. Ten metres short of the halfway with the Dragons now. They just have to control this game. Seven and a half minutes remaining. Fuller to Smith bustles his way up the centre. Osborne at full steam. So we could have slipped that pass to Peter Gill there. We've seen a lot of good Osborne passes behind their mark. Goulet. So George Dunn seemed to have missed Jason Alchin. He was one of their best players last week. Out possibly for the rest of the season with a knee injury but they seem to have worked quite well around the rucks. Newt puts it up. And Shearer backing into his in goal area. Needs to take this on the ball. He lets it go. And so well it will come back to the 22 anyway because the bounce luckily for Shearer went over the dead ball line. There's a lack of confidence here. Shearer should have taken this ball because it's still the same result. It's a 22 tap so. If that ball bounces and comes back into Ricky Walford's arms. Well a rugby league football can do that count it. It's a rugby league. Michael Potter has left the field. Tremendous game from him. See the Broncos. If they're going to get back in this game they're going to have to. 20 points to 12 in favour of St George. And Mick Potter has made 31 tackles from the 5'8 position. Leading tackler for the home side here. The Broncos are persisting and going up the middle. They've got to move this ball wide. And Langer finally has a run. Tries to slip the ball out to the supporter. It was knocked down. Intercepted by St George and they come up with it. David New. Getting in behind the line there. Selling a few dummies. But David New. That ball would have been forward. He could have been in his right if he had just ordered a hand over. As I say St George managed to keep Alan Langer pretty quiet apart from the first 10 minutes where he was looking very dangerous. Alan Langer this season says he's much more hungry after being dropped from his test spot. Though I feel that part of it was playing with the B side, the emus on the kangaroo tour that gave him a big opportunity to rediscover all those attacking skills that he had because the opposition was so poor. Son of one of your old playing mates John Bobby Landers. Kurt Landers has come on. Overlap for Wade here. Kicks over the top of his opposite number, Khan. But across there reading the play well was Kevin Walters. Great cover defence. Still at St George they're able to find a simple overlap on the wing. Plowman. Karen Walters. Brett Plowman again. Plowman trying to find this elusive hole that his team needs and they need it very soon. And that one's wide of Khan into touch. Renoff trying to link up with his winger. Under pressure it's catch up football time for the Broncos. They created a three on two here. They drew Renoff just drawing his winger and bad pass there to Willie Khan. Inside the five minute mark St George leading by eight points. Almost insurmountable lead. Broncos need a converted try and there's still two behind. Langeman is running strongly now. Good pass to Landers. That pass has been knocked down and Eddie Ward having a close look. It's a Bronco ball. Lange. The Broncos have got to spin it now. They have no choice but to move it around willy nilly. Good tackle from Beatty. Johns. Dragons full of confidence their defence is rugged. Out it goes to Miles. The Broncos throwing it around but not really opening up any breaks at the moment. Eddison George defence has all the answers at the moment. They're motivated. The Broncos are just off the top of their head now. Hail Mary Parsons the lot. Once again Wayne Collins there doing a great job on Elf Langer. Shearer with the boot. Bouncing away from south. Kevin Walters down there. This has been a very solid performance from the Dragons but still after 10 minutes. If you're a betting man it would have been quite a reasonable outlay to think that Brisbane were going to win by a good 30 or 40 points. They looked that much superior. They were running wild. What a turnaround midway through that first half. Brisbane ball. I should say Johns. Inside that St George 22 now as Walters looking for the try. It's touched by Gill. You can see the determination on Peter Gill there. He tried, gave it everything to get that ball back. He succeeded at least in forcing the knock on. Initial knock on by Gill. Langer puts the ball in before the two front rows have come together. Time ticking down and Langer knows it. Comes off Langer's foot. New diving on it but he hadn't really retired. The referee decides he'll have it again. Have a look at Ricky Walford there. He's ready to fly up here on the short side. Miles. In fact all the St George backs were well up inside that five metres from the scrum base. The ball's been lost. Walters throws it on the ground. And Gene Miles is going to be cautious for having said a few words here I think. We'll have a look here in replay. Gill a over the top. I think you'll find that Osborne was at fault there. Ripping the ball out. Miles has been given five minutes in the bin apparently for arguing with the referee. I suppose referee Ward will look closer to whatever Gene Miles had to say than we did. It didn't appear to be anything. I don't think Gene Miles would be all that complimentary. All that noisy said by Miles. He wouldn't have been all that complimentary to Eddie. It's one of those situations of course Gene Miles is guilty of many, many cases of ripping the ball out of players. Well this game has gone for the Broncos now. Only well it looks like just one or two minutes left now on the clock if that. Of course there's plenty of Queenslanders there on the St George side that'll be happy. St George have won. Wally Fulton-Smith has had a great game also. And footy fans in New South Wales, Queensland, the ACT join us on ABC radio tomorrow afternoon. Arthur Beetson and myself on ABC radio. We'll be doing the Cronulla-Ball main game in the Sydney and Sydney area. Highlights on ABC TV of this match tomorrow morning. The full time siren has sounded. Very jubilant for George. They are elated. That was a very important win for the Dragons. That'll give them a lot of confidence. Not simply because they won on the scoreboard but because of the way they did it. That was a comprehensive, very determined effort. And they had to get off the mat in that first, after that first ten minutes. So strong performance from the Dragons. And they have defeated Brisbane. 20 points to 12. What a great win for St George at their home ground, Cogra Oval. The win takes the Premiership tally to four points for this team. Who many expect will finish far stronger than last year's Poth position. Three tries to two in favour of St George. Potter Mackay in South scoring for the Dragons. Johnson Kahn for Brisbane. Walford four from five. He really was on target today. And one goal each to Madison and Shearer. Let's go down to the touchlines with Johnny Peer. A bit noisy here Mick, but congratulations. Well Johnny, the old home ground plays a big advantage. And the Broncos have lived on that for a while. And we've got our own back today. Real committed effort. Yeah, we went out there. Everyone wrote us off after the other game. But we went out in the lotto challenge, not to use up any moves. We showed it against Parramatta last week. And we knew if we could do it today we'd be a force this year. You might have to write the crowd off too Mick. Thanks a lot. Thanks mate. So Mick Beatty there, a very happy man. The St George skipper. He's been with the Dragons for quite a few years. And he'll enjoy that win just as much as some of the great St George wins he's experienced. And it's very interesting the way St George overcame the loss of Jason Alton today. They had a very organised attack. Played a very strong game of football. Mick Beatty played well. Michael Potter played well. Let's find out who was Arthur Beatson's best. And Michael Potter has got Arthur Beatson's not. In a St George side which did play very well and a lot of good performers Arthur. Certainly a lot of good performers. Brian Smith knew what he was doing when he put Michael Potter as the 580. He's never played there before but it was a tremendous effort by him. Tremendous effort by all the St George players. Where do you think that they really got on top of Brisbane? Well I think Brisbane dug their own grave because in the first 15 minutes they thought it was going to be so easy. They became a little bit complacent as the game progressed. I think it just got away with them. That section about 15 minutes into the first half where there was a sudden turnaround in possession for St George. And the game suddenly swung like a pendulum. Well in the turnaround as you said it was the defence of Brisbane that really got them down. They just stuck to the guns. St George and they played well. Well let's have a look at the last try scored by St George which really did seal the match. Wide. They had the opportunity now the defence has said. New. Has South running off him. Desperate tackle from Miles. He couldn't get him. Shearer does. Does he get it down now? South has scored a try. South scoring the try which really sealed it for St George. And you can see the power of South here as he burst onto that ball. As Arthur said Dale Shearer was battling to hang on. Then Testman came in with a driving tackle and that really finished it. That allowed South to plant that ball. The referee in good position. The in goal touch judge said yes that's it boys. Certainly a good try there by down South. Emphasised you know it really showed. House and George played all day. They played with plenty of determination today. Congratulations to Brian Smith. And they bustled Brisbane all the time because Brisbane loved to move that ball around which they were trying to do. But the holes just weren't opening up for them. Well that surprised me. A lot of times there you could have thrown a blanket over the Brisbane and that's not them. They like to spread the ball and in the second half they became bustlers you said. Alright let's have a look at the games coming up in the rest of the round tomorrow. Plenty of tight clashes. Wests versus Norths is certainly one of those. Manly to play the Gold Coast down at Brookvale. Canberra take on Parramatta at Canberra. Cronulla versus Balmain. And that's our ABC radio match in Queensland and New South Wales with the exception of Canberra where of course they'll be listening to the Raiders Parramatta game with Tim Gable. But Arthur Beetson and I and Peter Wilkins will be at Cronulla and Balmain. A very important game for those two teams who lost last week. Two losses in a row would certainly be a bad start for them this year. And a very interesting game too with Brian Smith on the bench for Balmain. The rugby union international from Ireland. About to play what will be his first game of rugby league I believe. And a very important game for both teams. Cronulla trying to get up off the mat after last week's loss at Newcastle. Canterbury versus Easts. South versus Illawarra. And the tips. West to beat Norths. The home ground advantage to just help Wests get home with Farrah and Gillespie in the side. Manly to beat Gold Coast. Canberra with Gary Belcher out. Should be too strong for Parramatta who've lost Peter Stirling again. Cronulla to pick themselves up and reverse their fortunes against Balmain. Canterbury to beat Easts in a very tight clash. And the last match there Souths to take on Illawarra. Well that should be a pretty close one too but Illawarra to win. Arthur I know you disagree with me on a couple of those. Well there's a couple there I don't agree on but I think that Balmain can get up against Cronulla tomorrow. Although I don't think Cronulla will be as bad as they were against Newcastle. And you're tipping Norths to beat Wests? Well I think Norths here. How could you go?
