The N. C. A. A. says the
college will be signing
multi-million dollar contracts
with pro teams as early as the
nineteen ninety two ninety
three season. Now these young
men they range in age from
about eighteen to twenty two
and a full time students at
these colleges and universities
where they maintain an academic
level set down by the N. C. A.
A. or they are not allowed to
participate. The N. C. A. A.
says you've got to be a student
first now N. C. A. A. stands
for the best student in the
world. The N. C. A. A. is a
national team and watchdog over
all college sports and student
athletes the schools well they
play about thirty games in a
season that goes from November
through to March then for the
teams who have been the most
successful it's tournament time
over the next eight weeks we're
going to present to you the
best of the excitement and
action of this prestigious
postseason tournament that each
year produces the national
championship. The N. C. A. A.
school is a national tournament
composed of highly reputable and
knowledgeable sports
administrators choose what is
called the final sixty four
that is the best sixty four
college teams in the country
according to their winning
records and the level of
competition that selection is
made out of hundreds of
participating N. C. A. A.
schools these teams are then
assigned to regions where they
enter the tournament on a
knockout basis I mean that is
the final sixty four and the
national championship they
divide the U. S. into four
regions here the west the
Midwest the southeast and the
east and then they send sixteen
teams to each region where they
are seated and split into two
groups of eight between two
cities in the region now let's
look for example at the east
region because that's where our
first game is coming from here
we have eight teams playing in
Worcester Massachusetts and
then we have the final
championship when it gets down
to one winner left in each city
they then play in Philadelphia
in a final that will produce a
regional champion the four
regional champs then become the
final four who this year had to
Minneapolis Minnesota and the
Metro dome to see who becomes
the national champion so now
let's go to Worcester
Massachusetts where the highly

Massachusetts Minutemen UMass
as they are known have a season

quality teams as Syracuse would

while UMass had a huge win over
an average Fordham University
team and they're going to be
the Kentucky Wildcats who as you
can see have already made their
way through to the third round
