This video was shot at Cowboy in Minneapolis, the heartland's hottest country dance club. Right. Country music has always been America's music, and today it's sweeping into cities and suburbs like a Texas dust storm. Hi, I'm John Hines, and welcome to more Country Line Dancing. One of the most popular parts of country music is line dancing, and in this video you'll learn all the most popular dances. Country line dancing is easy. It's some of the most fun dancing you'll ever do, and you don't even need a partner. While it's country dancing, you can wear anything from shorts to boots to skirts to jeans, of course you can go real cowboy with collar tips, big shiny belt buckles, bolo ties for men and women, boots in any style, color or material, bandanas, and of course cowboy hats. Meet Diane Horner. Diane's been teaching people to dance for years, and she makes it really easy. The first thing you should know is that almost any country line dance can be done to almost any country song. Once you learn a few basic steps and dances, you're ready to go. We start with the easiest dances first. This way, you can build on the steps you know. For each dance, we start with the steps or patterns you need to know. We cover each one separately, and then go through the practice with you. Next, we put them together and practice the whole dance. This is done with the music at a slower 96 beats per minute. We show you the individual steps or patterns from behind the instructor, just like in a dance class. This way, you and Diane are on the same foot, moving in the same direction all the time. It makes the transition to watching the full line like nothing happened. Next, we bring out a line of dancers and show you the whole dance at a more real pace. Don't worry, we'll show you everything many times over, including lots of close-ups so you can follow along. So let's all learn some more great country line dances. In our first video, country line dancing, we focused on the basics. In this video, more country line dancing, we'll focus on the complete dance and the style of country line dancing. You'll notice the dancers in the line adding personal touches of their own. Add your personal touches. Now let's start the first line dance. TC Electric Slide. Let's start with a TC slide. You already know the electric slide from our first video, country line dancing, so you only need to learn a few new steps. You'll be adding a part together, step, step, slow slide and touch, slow slide and touch, and a few bumps to make the electric slide the TC slide. Let's start by reviewing the electric slide. One time, vine, to the back, vining, now step and touch, rock forward and back, and step and kick. That's the electric slide. Now we'll add the new steps so that we have the TC electric slide, and we'll do it twice. TC vine, three steps and touch, bring it back, moving backwards, three steps and touch, feet out together, two steps, slow slide and touch, slow slide and touch, a double hip bump and a single bump, step and kick, go again, it's vine, to the back, a vine, now apart together, two steps, slow and touch, drag the leg, double hips, front, back, single hips, and step and kick. That's the TC slide, a hotter version of the electric slide. I think you're ready to try the dance in the line. Here's the TC slide, vine, take the vine back, apart together, two steps, slow and touch, slow, drag that foot and touch, double hips, single hips, and step, turn, vine, back, here's that new step, apart together, step, step, slow, touch, double hips, single hips, step and kick, moving back, three steps and touch, apart together, step, step, slow, double hips, single hips, step, kick, vine, back, apart together, step, step, nice and easy, bump, single step and kick. Now we're going to get fancy, add a little bit to this, apart together, step, step, slide, double hips, enter, back it up, apart together, double hips, single hips, turn it, vine back, apart together, slow, double, single, kick it, vine, back, apart together, slow, touch, slide, double hips, single step kick, and that's the TC slide, a hot version of the TC slide. Country strut. Now it's time for the country strut, which is also known as the cowboy strut and the cowboy reggae. There are only three new steps, the Montana kick, the strut, and the reggae, which is a cross over walk. We'll practice each of the steps so that you can learn each step before we put the dance together. We're going to start with the Montana kick, step left, kick right, step and touch the left back, step, kick, step, touch, two more times, and you follow the Montana kick with a vine, which you already know, and on that vine we're going to turn 180 and we'll be ready to do the strut, strut, and that cross over walk, on the second one we'll turn back a quarter turn to the right, and that's the country strut. We'll try to hold hands together, the first step is a heel toe step, repeated three times, each leg, the second leg is going to touch, you'll see what I mean. Here we go, three heel toes, step and change the weight, three heel toes, this time touch the weight and you can Montana kick, and vine, here's that big turn, 180, four struts, and then the cross over walk, quarter turn back to the right, and start again. We'll try again, facing again from the back, country strut, six beats, three heel toes, switch, touch, step kick, vine, turn 180, four struts, heel toe, good, now reggae, walk, two steps, turn back, and the dance starts again, here's the last time, on the country strut, ready, heel toe, two more times, last time, three, two, remember you're going to touch here so you can step left, Montana kick, vine, turn all the way, 180, four struts, and cross it over the reggae, two times, and that's the country strut, let's try it in a line, it's time for the country slide, heel toe, three, step on it, the other side, heel toe, but this time touch, step kick, Montana kick, vine, turn, 180, four struts, cross it over, this is the reggae, start again, heel, three times, step, three times, touch, Montana kick, vine, 180, turn and strut, reggae, quarter turn back, again, three, two, one, three, two, touch, step kick, step touch and vine, turn, four struts and reggae, heel toe, three times, step on it, touch it, Montana kick, vine, 180, turn, cross it, good, now play with it a bit, Montana kick, vine, reggae or jazz box, again, three, touch it, step, Montana kick, vine, 180 and strut, reggae or jazz box, again, three toe hits, oh, getting fancy, strut, reggae, six beats, six more beats, finish with a touch, step kick, step touch, vine, turn, reggae, good, this is the country strut.
