Macarena. Hey, Macarena. Macarena. There is one that is called Victorino. At the flag ceremony, the boy was my best friend. Macarena. There is one that is called Victorino. At the flag ceremony, the boy was my best friend. Give him joy, Macarena. Your body will give you joy and flavors. Give him joy, Macarena. Hey, Macarena, Macarena. Hola. My name is Will Velos. And you probably recognize me from my hit song, Macarena. Now I'm here to show you how to actually do the Macarena, along with my new song, Amobe La Colita, and two traditional Latin, a salsa and a merengue. Now I have here my girls, Dima, Vivian, Sonia, and Luba, to show you how to do the Macarena. Let's go. Are we ready? Yeah. Yeah. Let's go. While touring, I've just several variations of the Macarena. So what I've done is I've taken those and I've incorporated it into my choreography. Now I'm going to show you four of the basic ones that we have in our performances. What I'm going to do now is I'm going to go run through it with the music, without the instructions, so this way you have an idea of the basic one. And we'll progress from there to a more advanced Macarena, with more movements. OK? Here we go. Two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight. ["MACARENA"] So the first thing you want to do is spread your feet apart shoulder width, approximately. Now you want a slight bend of the knees, slightly. And you want to get this motion, like a sway, like a shift of the weight in the hip, in the hip area. Now once you've got that, you want to start with your right foot by a little kick, the left foot, another little kick, and you incorporate those together by shifting the weight from left to right, left to right. It's like a little pumping motion, a little sway of the hips, like this. So the next thing we're going to do is the arm movements in the Macarena. So you extend your right arm first, out, then the left arm, then the right arm goes to the back of your head, on the neck area, and the left. Then it goes down to the hip on the side, and then the left. Now that we've got that, let's go through the weight of the legs again. Right, left, right, left. Now extend your right arm out, left arm out, back, back, hip, hip. We've got that. So now let's incorporate a kick, and there's also a roll. After we do the hip, there's a roll of an eight, a figure eight in here, like this. You've got that. Right, left. It's figure eight. So left hip comes out, right hip comes out, left out, right out. Now there's a brush kick. You lift your right, left again, right. Now incorporate the arms. We're going to start with the right arm. Right, left, right, left, hip. Don't forget the legs and the knees. Left. Now the figure eight, roll, a jump. Now that you've got the basics, let me show you a different variation of the Macarena, which is a little faster. It's not that much faster, but we'll get there. Now you've got the bottom. Remember, this has to become your own. It really has to become your own. I can teach you, but you have to make it your own flavor. Right arm out, same as the other one. Left, right back, left back. Now it's to the front of the hip. Right hip, left hip. Now to the side, side. And the same thing, roll and jump. Now let's go to a more advanced Macarena. This is a little more complicated, because there's a lot of hand movements. It starts like this, same way as the other one, with the right arm always. Right, left, right palm up, left palm up, right hand over your left arm. Same thing with the left. Now you go underneath to the back of the head with your right arm. And the same thing with the left arm, to the back of the neck. Now you cross over with your hand to your left hip, the front. And the same thing with the left, to the right. Now you bring your right hand back, and the left hand back. And you do your figure eight, and the jump. Now that we've gotten that advanced, we're going to go ahead and show you our version of the Macarena, which we call the Cuban version. OK? It's a little spicy, OK? Now you bring your right arm out the same way, with the palm flat, the left arm. Now you bring the right hand over the left arm simultaneously. Then you grab your hands together. You give it to the right of your head, like a little chop, two times to one side, and then two times to the other side. Now you go to your hips, both hands. You give it a roll, roll, roll, and then a hump. Now that we've incorporated all the four versions of the Macarena I just taught you, let's put them to use. Now we're going to go ahead and do it so you can follow along. Ready? Five, six, seven, eight. Right, left, right, left. Bend the knees, bend the knees. Figure eight, jump. OK. Don't forget the kick. OK, now figure eight, and then we're going to jump. Are you getting it? Probably got it by now. Figure eight, and then another jump. Kick. Don't forget the legs. So it's basically the same leg with the same arm. OK. Now this one just entitles positioning the front of the hip. One more jump. Now. I'm fine already? Now this is double time. OK. Now if you've gotten this far, you've got it. OK. Hip, hip. Jump. Kick, kick. Great. Jump. Now this is the Cuban. OK. Now we're going to do the jump. OK. As exciting as my Macarena song is, you're going to find this song just as exciting, but a little quicker. This is called Amover la Colita, and we're going to show you how to do the dance. Ready, girls? OK, let's hit it. Five, six, seven, eight. Now let's simplify things. Let's break it down. Now it starts with a V-step out with your right foot and then the left foot out. OK. Now it's right foot back, left foot back. OK. Now there's a hip movement here. Let's do it again. Right foot out and your hip forward. Now back, back, back. OK. Now let's go from the waist up. OK. I'm going to show you the movement forward and back. The leg movement. Right, left, right, left. Now when you place your left foot down, you do a clap. And from the hip, in the hip area, it's a circular motion. OK. So you're going like this. Left hip forward, right hip forward, hip back, back. So you're doing this circular. OK. And you do that three times. On the fourth, it's a jump. And you start all over again. Right, left, right back, left back. Roll, roll, roll, jump. Now that we've got our leg movements and our arm movements, let's combine them and put it together so we can create the dance. Now follow along with us. We're going to do step by step, a full turn, and then we'll show you with the music. Now follow along with us, please. Ready? Five, six, seven, eight. One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight. One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight. One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight. Now that we've got the dance, let's put it together and put it into use in a dance. OK. Now my girls and myself are going to show you, and I hope you follow along. Ready, girls? OK. Five, six, seven, eight. OK. Now have a good time, right? Roll, roll, roll, jump, come on. Uh-huh, like that, yeah. OK. OK. Jump. Yeah, that's what I want to see. Come on. How do you do on the club? Let me see. OK. Now that you've mastered this, you can have some fun and try your own variations, like my girls are going to demonstrate for you now. OK, girls? Let's go. Now that we've got that down, let me teach you some traditional Latin steps. I'm going to start off with a salsa, basic salsa, very simple, consists of three steps. OK? Ready, girls? So we're going to start with our left foot. Six, seven, eight, back, back, step, back, step, back, step, back, step, back, step. See? It's that simple. It's not that difficult. OK, now let's break it down. OK? Very simple again. We start with our left foot. Men start with their left foot and women start with their right foot. OK? So it's back, step, together. Back, step, together. Back, step, together. Back, step, together. One more time. Back, step, together. Back, step, together. Now we're going to do an opening. It's called an opening. It's the same step, but we open up this way. The shoulders back and the foot goes back too. OK? So men again start with their left, women with their right. So it's left foot back, step, together. Back, step, together. Back, step, together. Back, step, together. OK? Now let's combine together. Ready, girls? OK, back, step, together. Back, step, together. Back, step, together. Back, step, together, opening. Back, step together. Back, step together. Back, step together. Back, step together. Okay, now we're going to show you how to do it in partnering. Well, now that we've got those two steps, I'm going to incorporate them with a partner. Okay, I'm going to demonstrate with Vivian here how it's done. Okay, ready? We start with the left foot, with the right. Ready? Five, six, seven, eight. See? One, two. ... ... ... ... ... ... Now, here's the other step. ... ... ... Very simple. Just have fun. Let loose, and enjoy this. ... ... ... ... ... ... ... Ahora merengue, a traditional Latin step. It's very simple. We're going to dance it first, and then I'll go explain to you how it's done. Ready girls? Five, six, seven, eight. Okay, let's have a turn. Okay, now that I've shown you the dance, let me simplify it for you. Okay? Women start with the right, men start with their left. We are going to start with our left. Okay? So it's a shift of the weight, starting with the left, right. Left, right. The feet stay in place. The women's feet should be a little closer together. The men should be more spread apart. Right, left, right. It's like pushing into the ground. Pretend you're holding a wall and you're pushing it. Okay? You lean over a little bit and you push, push, push, push. You got that already? Okay. Now let's add a turn. Ready girls? Left, right, turn. Left, right. Left, right. Left, right. Left, right. The right foot stays in place. The left foot is the one that moves around. And now if you're going to turn the other way around, it's vice versa. Okay? Left, right. You push. Left, right. And the feet are still in place. Now let's see how you can incorporate that in a dance. Now that you've seen both steps, let's put them together in a dance. Okay? Ready? Follow with me. We're going to do the basic and then we're going to do the turn. Ready? Seven, eight. Left. Turn. See? In place. Turn.
