hospital despite a last minute appeal from the local community. The government says the
closure will save about 1.2 million dollars and allow hospitals at Mount Barker and Gamaraka
to be upgraded. Black townships in South Africa have been hit with violence as the country
goes to the polls on whether to dismantle apartheid. Meanwhile in Adelaide the South
