In the dynamic and demanding world of the night, it means many things to many people. But how do you define success? Is it the car or home of your dreams? Is it the job you really enjoy? Is it measured by levels of income? Or is it freedom? Freedom to enjoy good health. Freedom to be financially and professionally independent. Freedom to pursue the lifestyle of your choice, rather than putting your fate in the control of others. At Sunrider, we don't attempt to define success. Rather, our purpose is to pave the way where thousands can decide for themselves the paths they choose to follow in pursuit of their own definition of success. This is the decade of the nineties, and people now more than ever want to be in control of their purposes and directions. It is a time for people to pursue their dreams. It is a time for Sunrider. These are the stories of a few of those individuals who define for themselves their own goals for success, and then achieve them through Sunrider. Kelly Gaysford lives in the New York area. She's single, independent, and motivated. Kelly started working with Sunrider directly out of college. She wanted to implement her own style, rather than working for someone else. Right from college, I went into Sunrider full-time, and the reason that I decided to do that was because I had worked for IBM as a co-op student through my college career, and decided that a 9-to-5 job, or rather an 8-30-to-6 job, wasn't the one that I wanted to pursue. And my role model was my father, and he worked for IBM for almost 40 years as an executive. And when I was growing up, he was always in a blue suit, running in and out the door, a very handsome, distinguished man, and we had some skiing trips, and one major backpacking trip that I'll never forget as long as I live. It was just a milestone in my childhood, but it happened once, and the rest of the time he was working. So when he retired, and he was extremely bored and not in Sunrider, all of a sudden we started to do all these things together, and he was home a lot, and yet still fulfilled. So I thought, if I could do that, and start at a young age, because he said, you know, it's the young people that should see this opportunity, just take the ball and run with it, and they can be so successful, and they can travel the world, influence the lives of so many people, and have fulfillment. Many Sunrider distributors are driven by the desire not to just make a living, but to make a life. John Harrington is such a person. Before Sunrider, I was a chimney sweeper working in the Boston area. I was also a security guard. I was always looking for a business that would allow me to achieve what I believe was financial freedom, having just enough money to enjoy my time, and having enough time to enjoy my money. I never wanted to get rich. I never had that desire. I just wanted to have every day to be mine, to do what I wanted. I didn't want to make a living. I wanted to make a life. I spent about five years researching every kind of business opportunity, and then I came into Sunrider, and I was convinced, and I still am, that it's the best opportunity in the world for anybody. I think it's a better opportunity for people with modest goals. Sometimes people put their expectations too high and they're disappointed, so I try to let people know that they can achieve whatever it is they want within reason. Steve and Amy Sugai were both elementary school teachers when they discovered Sunrider. They ate the foods for five years before finally deciding to build a Sunrider business. Bringing homework home, correcting papers, weekends, planning, it just took the time away from the kids. That was basically it. After about eight years of doing the same thing, I decided that I think I had enough of doing this, and I decided I needed... It was something that... It was a change in me. I wanted to do something more than just working the same type of situation. What's different today is we're not tied down to a nine-to-five type of job, and we have more time with the kids. And with Steve, he can start coaching baseball and soccer, which our kids are involved with. Basically now I have a lot of freedom and flexibility in my schedule, where I don't have to put in for leave or specific vacations or ask permission to do anything that I needed. Something that comes up, I can do it at the spur of the moment. I'm in control of my schedule. I enjoy having that freedom. While many people define success according to the amount of one's paycheck, Ken and Allison Hamchin feel a need to serve others to help change lives. We were living in Peru, and we were doing volunteer work and getting $42 a month plus room and board, which we absolutely loved. But we were ready for change, and we were wanting to do something that would be of service, but we wanted to get paid for it. We found that it wasn't effective to do service work and not get paid for it because it wasn't sustainable. We really find that with Sunrider now we can do really significant service work, and we're getting paid for it now. We were interested in helping people make transitions in their life. We were discovering that the challenge of Sunrider was changing our relationship, helping us to grow up and grow together. That was a big and quick factor for us. We saw that that was needed in many other families. Now, after three years, we've seen some wonderful transformations in families. Bob and Gwen Sutton look forward to retirement as a time they could enjoy life at a more leisurely pace. Working part-time as Sunrider distributors, the Sutton's have developed a small business. They are supplementing their retirement income, and they have the opportunity to travel Sunrider-style. We've been to the O'Rier before, but never first class. And with Sunrider, we do first class. Actually, I'm retired, but I do have some administration work left over from my old business. But we enjoy Sunrider because it's done so much for my health and for both of us and our friends and our families that we just enjoy talking about it. And if you talk, you're going to get results. It's just that simple. Kim Luke realized the fundamental difference between having a profession and building a career. Kim left her fast-paced, stressful job as a computer specialist to join the Sunrider family of distributors. I would say to other professional women, to work is not the only thing in your life. The family is as important as your career. So you should consider having both family and career. Sunrider can do that for you. This is a wonderful conference. You see everybody have a smile face. Everybody, you know, have a passion, and everybody is just like a big family. It's a big family. You cannot find this kind of family anywhere else. Carol Stewart is a nurse who loves her job. She became acquainted with Sunrider because of her interest in health and nutrition. Both she and her husband, Dan, now maintain their own Sunrider business as a part-time supplement to their income. Part-time income with Sunrider allows us to travel. It allows us, we have a beautiful car. We're on our second Sunrider car. And it just allows us more freedom. And I can still work part-time nursing, and I can book off time whenever I like to go traveling with Sunrider into our Sunrider business. Well, what I really appreciate is that we have got, we're working on it, we have our second Sunrider car now, beautiful car. And we don't have to worry about mortgage payments because our Sunrider income amply takes care of that. And we have wonderful travel, some of the nicest travel that anybody could imagine. And we're very thankful for that, as well as all of the friends that we've made all over the world now with Sunrider. It's tremendous. And now, listen to the experiences and valuable secrets of success from some of Sunrider's very highest achieving distributors. Obviously, their high levels of income are reflective of the very most successful Sunrider distributors. They do, however, demonstrate the earnings potential to which every person can aspire. And for many people, Sunrider offers the single best opportunity to retrieve the natural income of others. Commitment, perseverance, and enthusiasm are the only four parts. While struggling with the ups and downs of the construction business, Robert Lovell became convinced that network marketing could be the single best opportunity to work for yourself, to be rewarded for performance, and to have stable and consistent income. Robert and his wife, Carol, then spent two and a half years seeking out the right network marketing opportunity. Frustrating, Carol finally took a job to pay the bills. Robert, on the other hand, helped create the Sunrider business plan. Their perseverance has paid off. Today, the Lovells are among the most successful Sunrider distributors in the world. I believe, really, the first step is to get your dreams in line, get your dreams going there, establish your priorities in your life, make sure they're together, and then really visualize those dreams. The one thing that makes a difference in your success at Sunrider is caring about other people, caring about their success, their futures, and their relationship with you. Whenever anyone sponsors someone else in the business, they take on a responsibility for that person. I believe, as a sponsor, it's our responsibility to give them the very best chance of succeeding that they can have. That comes with training, that comes with follow-through. A former university professor, small businessman, and corporate executive, Will Godfrey has been with Sunrider since its beginning. He met Ruth at a Sunrider convention in 1984, where they decided to become business partners. With Sunrider as their single business focus, they have enjoyed extraordinary success, and their partnership has blossomed even further. Will and Ruth are now husband and wife. I would say the way we can help a brand-new distributor reach their dreams and achieve the highest levels of success in Sunrider is by, number one, teaching them to always eat the product, and, number two, share the product and the business experience with anyone who comes within three feet of you. Consistency is the name of the game. Success in anything is the focus and consistency that you have. And knowing where you're going. You know people like Sharon and John Farnsworth? They're the salt of the earth. John has cultivated a 50-acre apple orchard in Utah for much of his life. Sharon has been a beautician, sold apples from a roadside stand, and loves working with people. That's why Sunrider has had such an appeal to her. That's why the Farnsworths have experienced phenomenal international success with Sunrider. I think that patience is a real key, because people get impatient. They see us. We've been in it for eight years. We're making a good income. We have a big downline, and they want that instantly. Well, it didn't come to us instantly. It took a lot of work, a lot of development. I've traveled all over the United States. I've been very committed. When somebody wants me to come in the early years, when somebody calls and says, Come to New York, I go to New York. I go to Florida. I've traveled. I've met the people. The only way you can make this business go is through duplication, and if your downline will duplicate what you do and you're successful at doing it, then, or normally then, your business will be full. So if you don't work with your downline, you just do not have any business. Spencer and Shivani Pak are another couple who found marital bliss and career success through Sunrider. Spencer was a guitar instructor who decided that he simply wanted to do more. Shivani's ambition as a small business owner had her managing a Baskin-Robbins ice cream franchise. Both were drawn to Sunrider for the career opportunities and their desire to share success with others. Aether predicted how great their success would be. The reason I feel that I have had the degree of success that I've had in this company is that I caught the vision and the dream early on, and I was persistent, even when the going got tough. I believed in the dream, and I kept going for it, 100%. The people who have been the most successful are those who love people, have a sense of mission and destiny, and also people who can really dream big, people who want to grow and explore and develop themselves to their full potential. These are the kind of people we see really stretching into the upper rank levels and the payout for Sunrider as people who want to grow. Caring and sharing from the heart, frankly, is everything. It is the most vital thing that we have that we can use as our own personal tool to be able to develop our business. When people get that you care about their success, that ensures your own success. The vision and dedication of Sunrider's founder, Dr. Taifu Chin, has helped make Sunrider one of the very most successful companies in the world today. But Dr. Chin emphasizes that company success is built upon individual success. And Dr. Chin is committed to the success of each and every individual distributor. Sunrider is a true free enterprise system. This is a system that gives opportunity to anybody regardless male or female, regardless the age, regardless the background education or not. All you need to do is decide to be successful. And you can succeed. The key element to success in Sunrider is three. Number one, either product. Number two, recruit. Number three, duplicate. Sunrider will provide you the best product in the world, the best support system in the world, and also the fairest, the best marketing program that you can ever enjoy. This is my mission. This is my passion. To bring the opportunity for health and financial freedom to the world. There you have it. A variety of people who've written their own success stories and achieved them through Sunrider. They are fulfilling their dreams and are willing to help you achieve yours. It makes little difference whether your interest is simply a modest part-time income, a second income, or a new career. Now is the time for your story to be written. You've already taken the first steps. Use the products. Attend the opportunity meetings and bring two or three others. Learn as you use the Sunrider marketing tools and training programs. Commit yourself to success as you help others succeed. The Sunrider dream is being fulfilled by thousands of people around the world every day. Let today be your day. There's a place in the sun Where there's hope for everyone And the Sunrider dreams Just begun There's a place in the sun And before my life is done Gotta find me a place In the sun
