Rest assured, little man, it was not I alone that was disgruntled over the fact that the great Rick Flair was denied his opportunity to regain the World Wrestling Federation Championship right here at SummerSlam. After all, when you're talking about the bright lights and the big cities, you gotta be talking London, England, and when you're talking SummerSlam, and when you're talking the World Wrestling Federation, you gotta be talking Rick Flair. Whoo! Rick Flair, I couldn't help but notice you're wearing your robe and your wrestling attire. What's going on here? That's because anyone that knows anything about Rick Flair knows that he stays ready for any kind of action. And speaking of action, Rick Flair, one man we know who's gonna be seeing action tonight is your executive consultant, Mr. Perfect. For his public knowledge, he's gonna be in the corner of either the Macho Man, Randy Savage, or the Ultimate Warrior. As a matter of fact, I saw you and Mr. Perfect show up outside of Wembley Stadium earlier today in a long limousine, Rick Flair. You two have been embroiled in this controversy of the main event since the day it was announced. As a matter of fact, this match may end up going down in history as the most controversial match in World Wrestling Federation history. Now then, Rick Flair, I'm gonna put you on the spot. In whose corner will Mr. Perfect be tonight? Oh, come on. Is it gonna be the Macho Man? Don't do this to me. Is it gonna be the Ultimate Warrior? Rick Flair, enough is enough. Like the great Winston Churchill once said, now is the time. And now is the time we demand to know the whereabouts of Mr. Perfect for Summer Slam. Why, he's in the dressing room. I have been investigating the whereabouts of Mr. Perfect since he arrived on the scene with Rick Flair. I cannot confirm the rumors that he is actually inside the Macho Man's dressing room. I can confirm, however, that this door has been locked for some time and nobody is answering. However, undaunted, I shall continue this investigation for the whereabouts of Mr. Perfect. In the meantime, over to you, Mean Gene. My exhaustive search to locate the whereabouts of Mr. Perfect has come to an end. I have reason to believe that Mr. Perfect is inside the Ultimate Warrior's dressing room. Now, I'm going to breach my own code of ethics. I'm not going to knock on the door. I'm just going to open it and surprise them. Well, I must say, now, that doesn't necessarily mean that Mr. Perfect is inside that dressing room, but it certainly was a shocking and vulgar act of rudeness. And now, back to the ringside. We are just moments away from the World Wrestling Federation Championship match between the Macho Man Randy Savage and the Ultimate Warrior. And after a lot of waiting, we are just moments away from finding out just exactly whose corner Mr. Perfect will be in. There is a lot of history, ladies and gentlemen, leading up to this championship match. As you recall, from the moment the match was signed, controversy abounded. And I'm the World Wrestling Federation champion, and you're not. Oh, my goodness. Well, he's not right now, that's for sure, but he might be at Wembley Stadium. What a matchup we're going to have between these two. Wait a minute, Ultimate Warrior grabbing Dean Gene, leading him down. We may have a match right here. Wait a minute, what's this? Rick Flair and Mr. Perfect going in the ring. You know why? Because I'm the macho chicken. Oh, yeah. Randy Savage is heading right in. Yes, there he goes. He almost ran over the cameraman. Randy Savage going after Rick Flair. Covering Rick Flair. Mr. Perfect pulled off this belt. What's he doing? Oh, no. Ultimate Warrior coming in to help out. Rick Flair takes a right hand. Perfect takes off. And then there was the interruption of the Ultimate Warrior's interview by Rick Flair. The macho man was trying to cut a deal with the Perfect one to walk the aisle as his manager at SummerSlam against you. I'm going to be at SummerSlam. And then macho man Randy Savage interview interrupted by Mr. Perfect. The Ultimate Warrior's corner. I will be there. Therefore, the ante for Mr. Perfect's services at SummerSlam has just gone sky high. And then the very controversial tag team matchup with the Ultimate Warrior and macho man Randy Savage as partners. Oh, nice tag. Very friendly tag. Yes. Oh, look at that tag. Look. The Warrior now. This isn't going to work out. Well, thus far it is working. No question. It is working big time. Wait a minute. Oh, no. Randy Savage had his back turned on the Ultimate Warrior. And now the Ultimate Warrior. And now Savage looks up. And all he sees is the Warrior. He hits you, Savage. He hits you. Hey, wait a minute. He did not. The macho man Randy Savage with violence. Oh, that helmet. Did you see that? Did you hear that? Jimmy Hart's helmet used by Sags a moment ago. And they just pulled Dr. Macho Man. And now Jimmy Hart was going after the Warrior, I think. No. Look out. From behind. From behind. Look at this. What's going on, Bobby? What's going on, Bobby? It's purpose and flair. What's going on? They jumped the Warrior. They jumped the Warrior. Yes, but look. Look what they're doing. To the Ultimate Warrior. Oh, no. The referee is still unconscious. Oh, look at that. Randy Savage was just nailed over the head with a chair. He's down. Meanwhile, look at this. Savage being kicked. He's almost unconscious. Savage knows he has a vote, looks like to me. Randy Savage successful on two under and tips back to the top rope to polish off the Warrior again. Third time. The Warrior Bob. Whoa, look at that. Look at that. The power of the Ultimate Warrior. He's holding him with one hand, the WWF Champion. And down across the knee and down to the canvas, one, two, yes. I thought he was a new champion. This a grueling matchup thus far on the part of Savage and Warrior. I need some water, I'm exhausted. Savage now whipped to the buckle by the Warrior. Seesaw matchup back and forth, Savage to the near side. You can sense the Warrior building momentum, what a wide hand. Did you ever see the Warrior this intense? Never. Did you ever see Savage this intense? No, I don't believe so. And it's only going to get worse. Trust me, I know what I'm talking about. And again to the far side. The Warrior knowing full well he's really going out to take it to Randy Savage to once again be World Wrestling Federation Champion. Randy Savage with perhaps more tenacity than anyone else in the history of the WWF. Look at this, into a bear hug, trying to squeeze a champion to get out of him. Did he give up? No, the cover line, two wins, a kick out again. My goodness. Wow, what a match. You were right, this is a summer slam you thought you'd never see. And all of that speculation for all of these many weeks about in whose corner Mr. Perfect would be in, he's not in anyone's corner, two wins, yes. I don't understand that, he wouldn't lie to me. He told me he would be in someone's corner. He wouldn't lie to me. A small package, out of nowhere, Savage successfully. No, he just got out of there. Watch out, man, Randy Savage, getting back to his feet, hanging on the rope for a moment, now the Warrior, and the grasp of Savage who wants him to the corner, and no. Neck breaker. Can he keep him down though? Can he cover him? He hurt his back. He's hurt his back. Savage snapping the neck of the Ultimate Warrior. We have a count, we have two, and we only have two. My goodness, these two men taking more out of each other, perhaps, than any other match either individual has ever been involved with thus far. Look at this, yes, over the top, Randy Savage with the momentum. If he can cover him, he's got it. Warrior is hurt. One, two, three, no. I can't believe this. Randy Savage has begun successfully to work on the neck area of the Warrior. But his back is bothering him, McMahon. He's faving his back. He can't let the Warrior know it. Savage sentencing out the Ultimate Warrior. The Warrior's gonna go out. This suplex should do it. No, he can't do it. His back is hurting him too badly. He can't do it. I told you. Savage cannot get the Warrior up. If the Warrior can capitalize on this, he's gonna walk away with the dome. Warrior's neck in bad shape. Savage's back in bad shape. He knows it too now. Both men may never be the same after this match is over. I don't see how you could be. Warrior knows his back is bothering him. He senses it. He's gonna continue to work on that back until he puts him away. Cast down again with a smile to the back. Savage is in real, real deep trouble now. Now the Warrior with a front face lock applying the pressure. But yet the Warrior's neck still bothering him. Warrior trying to get Savage in the position. I think the Macho Man's gonna go up. Yes, tremendous suplex on the part of the Ultimate Warrior. Look at the one, two and two. That was close. That was close. You bet that was close. All your money, your whole future, everything's riding on this match for Savage and inches away from losing it all. Randy Savage on the rope. Is he playing possible? Here comes the close. And now look at this. Over the top to the outside. Savage calculating with the Ultimate Warrior. Wood rushing for the clothesline attempt. Wait a minute. Going to the floor. Yes, he's going up to the top. Savage, if he gets him, it'll be over. Yes, unbelievable maneuver on the part of the Macho Man. And the Ultimate Warrior will be counting out. And he nailed him. He caught him good. He's going on after him. Macho Man, Randy, yes, he's doing exactly just that. See, Savage is making a mistake here. He doesn't have to beat the Ultimate Warrior. He wants to beat him. That's the kind of champion the Macho Man is. He's a dummy for doing it. Into the steps. Savage back in, beating the count. But yes, the Macho Man, just like the Ultimate Warrior, both individuals have taken a tremendous beating from each other. What a grueling matchup. On to the ring post. Macho Man, Randy Savage, wants to prove a point, I believe. To who? Who does he want to prove it to? To himself and to perhaps the entire world. He wants to defeat the Ultimate Warrior. Remember, he said he was going to beat the Warrior. One, two, three, he guaranteed it. Well, you shouldn't give guarantees you can't back. Well, I don't care who wins this. Savage back in. There it is, one, two, he gets him. No, he doesn't. And wait a minute, what's this? That's Mr. Perfect and Ric Flair. What are you looking at? What's going on? What are they doing coming down the ring side? One, two, and yeah, oh, man. Well, we're about ready to find out which corner Mr. Perfect is going to. A close line by the way to cover two and no, count of two is all. Whatever plan Perfect had is working perfectly. Well now, which individual sold out? Warrior with a slutty slam. I think Savage is the one that sold out because he wants it more. He's had the title twice now. He knows how important and how much money he can make with it. We're about to find out. Here we go, Ultimate Warrior on the rope, and done. No, look at that. Randy Savage lifting his knees into the abdomen of the Ultimate Warrior. Bad landing. And thus far, Ric Flair and Mr. Perfect, wait a minute, one, two. Ooh. Perfect standing right in the middle. He hasn't gone to a corner. Warrior now, no, reversal off the rope. Closed line of tip misses and both men go down. Double closed line. And Perfect and Ric Flair, look on, as they see both men down, both men out. But why is Perfect at ringside? In whose corner will he be in? He has to make a move soon. He will, he will. He's no dummy, he's perfect. What a matchup this is, Savage and Warrior. Attempting to get back to their feet, the Warrior, this is it. One, two, go. Uncovered by Savage, three almost, no. I've never seen so many covers. I've never seen so many people try to go for a pin-a-mile. Wait a minute, you saw that. There we go. There it is, there it is, now we know, now we know who's sold out. I can't believe it, the Ultimate Warrior sold out to Mr. Perfect. Shows you how much the Ultimate Warrior wants it. I still can't believe it. Believe it, you just saw it. It has, and now Randy Savage is believing it. Randy Savage knows full well it's Mr. Perfect. Look at him, he's moving his finger. Who's in the corner of the Ultimate Warrior. He's telling Perfect, you took the money from the Warrior. Warrior back to his feet. Warrior selling out, this capacity crowd can't believe it. One house right by the Ultimate Warrior. And look at how confident Mr. Perfect stands there. He's got a pocket full of money. The Ultimate Warrior now with a match on by Randy Savage. Look at this. He didn't only landed hard on his back, I believe he hit his head on that bottom rope. Yeah, yep, he certainly did, that's whiplash, pal. That's whiplash big time. One, two, three, four. The match before Perfect and Flair arrived so even. But now, look at that, the official goes down. He caught him, he didn't catch him real good. He caught him good enough to knock him down. I don't think he's out cold. The match was so even, but now since Mr. Perfect has come to ringside, obviously the Warrior has the event. What a slap. And now the Ultimate Warrior makes a move. He can smell the victory. And they know what's going on. Hey. Perfect and Flair know what's happening. It's simple, it's business. From the top rope, the Ultimate Warrior. Yes, found. The cover. This will do it. This will do it. There's no way for him to count. The referee don't know where he's at. One, two, kick out. I thought he had it. I thought he had it. And the Warrior, looking at the official. The Warrior could have had the pin had the official been in position. Hey, for the money it cost him, or it must have cost him, he better get a good count. So perhaps the plans of Mr. Perfect and the Ultimate Warrior have backfired. Now, Savage, look at this from behind, drives the knee. Savage driving the knee to the back of the Warrior. And the official, unfortunately, right in front of the Ultimate Warrior. Look at this. Going up. Power drive him. And down. Randy Macho Man Savage retains the WWE. The official is still out. Savage going over to the official. Two good shots. Perfect is in there helping Warrior out. Trying to revive the Warrior. That's what he's doing. The money he's getting. Savage is outside trying to revive the official. This doesn't surprise me. Wait a minute. Wait a minute. What's this? Ric Flair. Ric Flair. Oh no. Did he nail him? Savage. Wait a minute. Savage is the one that paid Perfect because all they did to Savage was trip him. That was a setup. They are working for Savage. Wait a minute. I'm not so sure Randy Savage saw that. Randy Savage was trying to revive the official. I don't think he saw it. What are you trying to say? I'm confused. That's what I'm trying to say. I don't know whose corner Perfect is in now. Savage. Savage. He's the one that paid Flair. He's the one that wants it the most. He's the one that has all the money to pay with. He's the one that has all the money to pay with. He's the WWF champion. Like a wounded animal, Randy Savage faced Ric Flair on the inside. Mr. Perfect on the outside, viciously attacking the champion's vulnerability. Like vultures hovering above their prey, Mr. Perfect and Ric Flair continued their assault. But against all odds, the Macho Man fought with every ounce of courage, fought with every ounce of determination, until finally the walls caved in with the arrival ringside of Razor Ramon. Razor Ramon, oh no, Ramon takes Savage's leg right out from under him. As Ric Flair applied the figure four leg lock, even then the Macho Man Randy Savage could not surrender. Despite the severity of the pain, the Macho Man would not consciously submit. However, the longer Ric Flair applied the figure four, the more the Macho Man slipped away into a state of unconsciousness. And so too did the World Wrestling Federation Championship belt slip away from the Macho Man Randy Savage. Once again, World Wrestling Federation Champion, Ric. Unquestionably a gallant effort on the part of the Macho Man Randy Savage. Against all odds, but finally passing out as a result of the pain. Pain inflicted by Mr. Perfect. Pain inflicted by Razor Ramon. And finally, the figure four leg lock, the pain of that hole submitted by the new WWF Champion, Ric Flair. After Ric Flair and Mr. Perfect concluded their celebration in the ring, Razor Ramon returned to a helpless, a hapless, and a defenseless Randy Savage. And began to publicly humiliate the Macho Man, and began to strip Randy Savage of the only real thing he had left. His dignity as a man. What's Razor Ramon trying to prove here? Razor Ramon coming back to the ring, hammering away. Probably the Macho Man. Randy Savage defenseless, just trying to hang onto the leg a moment ago. Finally, officials coming in to move Razor Ramon away. But look at this. What kind of a man would do this to Randy Savage? What kind of a man is Razor Ramon? But speaking of a man, a man that Randy Savage would later say was his only real true friend in the world. The Ultimate Warrior liberally carried the Macho Man out of harm's way. The Warrior now carrying the Macho Man, Randy Savage back to the dressing room. The Ultimate Warrior still in his street clothes, just arriving here at the arena. Look at the bond between those two. Hey, Savage. You're not too macho now, man. You no WWF Champion. You no machismo. You know what you are, man? Tu eres tierra, man. You are the dirt underneath my fingernails, chico. Hi again, folks. As you know by now, Ric Flair is the new World Wrestling Federation Champion. Flair and his executive consultant, Mr. Perfect, contend it was the execution of their so-called Plan B that resulted in Flair becoming the champ. Now it all started back in SummerSlam when Ric Flair and Mr. Perfect interfered in the championship match between Randy Savage and the Ultimate Warrior, taking the leg out of the Macho Man and continuing to inflict even more damage on the knee outside the ring after the match was over to the then World Wrestling Federation Champion, Macho Man Randy Savage. Then, two days later in Hershey, Pennsylvania, I had the occasion to talk to the Macho Man when we were rudely interrupted by Razor Ramon. You know what you need, man? You need lessons in machismo. I think that you dropped your toothpick. Later that same evening, against everybody's better judgment, the Macho Man defended the World Wrestling Federation title against Ric Flair and Razor Ramon would again interject himself by attacking Randy Savage during the course of this most crucial matchup. Ramon's action set up Flair to apply the devastating figure four leg lock on an already injured Macho Man. Despite the severity of the pain, the Macho Man would not consciously submit. However, the longer Ric Flair applied the hold, the more the Macho Man slipped away into a state of unconsciousness. With that, Ric Flair once again became the WWF Champion. Once Flair was proclaimed the champ for a second time in his career, the in-rings celebration began. After all this, Razor Ramon returned to a beaten and broken Randy Savage and began to publicly humiliate the legendary Macho Man. Ramon was physically stripping this fallen hero of his dignity as a man. At that juncture, a man that Randy Savage would later say was his only true friend, the Ultimate Warrior literally carried the Macho Man from the ring. By the way, later on in this hour, for the first time since he lost the World Wrestling Federation title, in what I'm sure will be a very emotional interview, I'm going to be talking to the Macho Man, Randy Savage. The number of spotlight magazines and only inside two giant posters of the Ultimate Warrior. Ladies and gentlemen, the Macho Man, Randy Savage. Let's talk about the great competitors and the great WWF Champions. Here he is as far as I'm concerned, the Young Clown Champion. Has he got a rock in his shoe or what's the problem? Oh, real funny, real funny. Very interesting knee pad we got a glimpse on just a moment ago. The Macho Man, look at this. I sincerely hope that Ray Ramon is looking on and will take heed to the words of the Macho Man, Randy Savage. You know, ladies and gentlemen, I have never witnessed a champion with so much heart, a champion with so much intestinal fortitude as the Macho Man, Randy Savage. As a matter of fact, the very fact that you're standing out here speaks volumes for the kind of competitor, the kind of human being that you are. The Macho Man, Randy Savage. And Ray Ramon, you might notice that there's something missing around my waist, and that's the World Wrestling Federation Championship belt. But also Ray Ramon, just like I got something missing, yeah. I've got something extra, and it's around my knee, yeah. It's been given to me by the greatest friend that I've ever had, whoever could have had, and it's also by the toughest opponent that I've ever gone against in my whole career, and that is the Ultimate Warrior, yeah. Ultimate Warrior, his friend, his only friend, the way I see it. Ray Ramon, when you go against the Macho Man, Randy Savage, not only are you gonna have to go against me and all my Macho Maniacs, but you're gonna have to also go against the power of all the Ultimate Warriors, yeah. What about you, Ric Blair? What about your World Wrestling Federation Championship belt? Get a load of this, oh yeah. Oh yeah, dig it, give me a break. Macho Man, Randy Savage, you stand before me, a loser of nothing. At SummerSlam, you gave me the greatest battle that I have ever had or shall ever witness in half. In Macho Man, Randy Savage, and the Maniacs that walk with you, there will be a bond between them and my Warriors that shall be forever. Oh yeah. You have, at the same time, Macho Man, gained a friend that will stand behind you, beside you, in front of you, in any time of need. I make this promise to you, and all these Warriors and Macho Maniacs do the same. Just like you had given unto me, I would like to give unto you. And with these glasses on to the Warrior, if you will put them on, you will not only see your future, but you will also see your destiny. In all of us, through your eyes, you also see you become the ultimate rural wrestling federation champion. Not a chance. All of us, the ultimate Maniacs together, Savage Warrior. And through those glasses, the ultimate Warrior will see his ultimate destiny as he becomes the ultimate rural wrestling federation champion. Not whatsoever, I'm looking for any kind of a downhill evidence of that injury sustaining to the knee of the Macho Man, important to lose this battle, but nothing is evident. Now he certainly seems to be walking well, and looking very well indeed. He's very alone, very heads up. This man, a tremendous champion, only recently lost that championship to the flamboyant one, Rick Flair. But he's enjoying great form, and he's got a lot of confidence for this match, which is a big, big task for him. What a competitor, and what a feature matchup. Here this week on Primetime Wrestling, won't have to wait long for the fireworks in this one. Macho Man realizing I'm sure that he cannot match strength and power with Papa Shongo. But he can certainly make him miss like that. Tremendous skill possessed by the Macho Man Randy Savage, and I'm sure we'll see them all come into play here against this huge man, Papa Shongo, who did fill this place with an icy chill. However, that edge has been taken off because the Macho Man has warmed up the arena already by his very, very presence. What a sucker move there by Shongo, as he faked out the Macho Man, and that went to his throat immediately. Referee running there to lay the count down, forcing the break. Savage out of that corner, not the place to be. Now he's unloading, left hand going to the body. Maybe that's the weak spot on the big guy. Wow, gosh. Savage couldn't get him out of the corner. No, a lot of tenacity showed by Shongo in the corner there. He held onto that top rope and eventually clobbered Savage with a mighty, clobbing right hand. You know, I can't believe, Your Lordship, that Papa Shongo is not looking to go to work on the leg of the Macho Man. If I were in there, that's what I'd be doing. Well, you'd think he would give it a try at least, but I notice also that he's very, very quick, Savage, to move those legs away from Shongo. Well, there's another opportunity right there to present it itself. Maybe not too sick in the grave matter is Papa Shongo. Well, I don't know so much about that. I mean, this fellow has studied the occult. He's very, very well versed in all that. All those symbols all over his leotard there are occult voodoo symbols. He really is a master of that. From what I've seen of him wrestling, he's a master of wrestling holds too. Never, never underestimate him. Well over that 300 pound mark. A big force here in the World Wrestling Federation. A big test here for the Macho Man. First tremendous test. Big test since losing his title. Yes, indeed it is. If he overcomes this, we'll be seeing Macho Man right back to the best condition that he can be in, wrestling-wise and mental-wise too. And I think he is there, you know, right off the top again. Well, when a big guy like this has got a bear hug on you, you do whatever it takes to get out of there. It took a thump to the eye that time. Who knows what it'll take next time.
