I've got a pirate's hat, a mouse, a soldier and a witch's hat.
Now I'll just get the soldier and put him here.
Now you see there's a hole in the box and a hole in the soldier.
So that the money can go through.

I'll just put that there.
Push the mouse against the box and it'll stick.
And we have a witch's hat which has got a hole in the box.
And the last one is a pirate's hat which has got a hole in it.

There we go.
Now I'm going to put some money in the soldier's money box.
And some money in the mouse's money box.
Don't fall off mouse.
And some money in the pirate's hat's box.
And two one cent coins in the witch's hat money box.
Money boxes are good for saving up.
The people at Blue Gumboo have to save money to buy things too.
A long way away in a land far away lived an owl called Mr. Who.
He lived in a tree way out in the bush near a farm called Blue Gumboo.
Now one hot day while Mr. Who was flying into town,
he saw a bush fire burning brightly below him on the ground.
He quickly flew to Blue Gumboo and rang the fire alarm.
And everyone grabbed all the buckets and pots they could find around the farm.
Hurry, hurry, cried Mr. Who, throw more water on those flames.
Before they could stop it, the bush fire had burned down the home of Koala James.
What we need is a fire truck to help us, said a magpie.
But the only trouble is, said Emu-Liz, their costs are much money to buy.
So they decided that the best thing to do was collect five cents from everyone.
Bert the turtle gave a five cent piece and so did Jake the snake.
But Butch Kangaroo gave two twos and a one.
Do you know how many cents that makes?
Liz gave five little round brown coins because each one was worth one cent.
That's one and two and three and four and five.
Someone knew and some were bent.
Then along came Sir Larry the lyrebird who was rich but a little bit strange.
He gave Mr. Who a ten cent piece and Mr. Who gave him five cents change.
Of course some of the animals didn't have five cents but they gave as much as they could.
And one kind little possum even gave Mr. Who her play money made out of wood.
But when Butch Kangaroo finished counting the money he looked sad and said,
Bother and drat, we've collected one dollar and 45 cents.
But a fire truck costs much more than that.
I know what we'll do, said Mr. Who.
It's time for some magic, watch me.
Then he blinked both his eyes and said,
Surprise, it's a magic money tree.
When all the coins had been picked from the tree, Mr. Who said, zig-a-zack.
Then the money tree disappeared once and for all and never ever came back.
Well the animals bought their fire truck thanks to Mr. Who's magic spell.
But the next time they needed some money for something,
they saved for it all by themselves.
Now money can be used for lots of good things.
But as you learn more about it you'll see that unless you're magic like Mr. Who,
money really doesn't grow on trees.
Mr. Snodgall, can you find the faces to fit the shape of these coins?
I know the first one.
The biggest, 50 cents.
And I know the smallest, one cent.
One cent.
And the next one after the one is the two.
It doesn't fit.
It's a bit too small.
Well I wonder what it does fit then.
It might fit the five.
It does.
Now let's try this one, see if it fits the two.
Ah, so the two cent coin is bigger than the five cents.
But the five cents worth more than the two cents.
And the ten cents, that's easy.
And the twenty cents, that's easy too.
Well, I'm going to go and put some money in my money boxes.
Look at all these purses.
One for each kind of coin.
Here's a snail purse for the one cent coin.
And look, a grape purse.
Like a bunch of grapes.
Put my two cent coin in there and shake it down.
And look, a pear purse.
Just right for five cent coins.
Go in there.
And what have we got?
Look, a fish purse.
Just right for ten cent coins.
If I can find a little hole, there it is.
And look, an apple purse.
I'll put the twenty cent coin in there.
And a beautiful rabbit purse.
Just right for my fifty cent coins.
Look at all this money.
With all this, I think I'll go shopping.
Guess what I'm going to buy.
