It began with the Labour government's expulsion of a Russian diplomat. It ended with the political
trial of David Coombe. The Coombe affair has exposed Asia to its most intense scrutiny
in 30 years. Are the invisible men of Asia really controlled by their political masters
or are they doing the controlling? Their mistakes in a sense are funny, but what isn't at all
funny is the power of the institution and the fact that it was listened to and that
action was taken, action that has affected people's lives irrevocably. Asia, who do our
security guardians really protect and do we need them? That's with my little eye next
