Overview

A coming of age story for Addie Singer, a distinctively self-aware twelve year old girl who uses music, which she writes, as a compass to navigate through the triumphs and pitfalls of “tweenage” life.

Addie Singer is a quick witted seventh grader who doesn’t care about popularity or fame. Addie just wants to be accepted for who she is which is not “queen” of the social circuit. In the privacy of her room she writes songs to reflect her thoughts and help her to understand “tweenage” life. She is not an accomplished musician or lyricist and often tries to stretch a rhyme or two but her songs reflect her thoughts in a unique and entertaining manner. As we watch the events of Addie’s adolescent life unfold we hear the humorous observations and perceptions that run through her mind.
