Music Astronomers are bracing themselves for a flood of phone calls from people wondering, just what was that shimmering up in tonight's sky? Well, we can tell you. For the next few nights, the three brightest objects in the heavens will all be grouped together. Jupiter, Venus, and the crescent moon. If there are no clouds, it should be easy to see. So you might want to peek outside and gaze upwards. The three won't be this close together again for another 44 years. And no, that wasn't an actual picture. That was a very good graphic. All right, let's check the national weather forecast now. Claire Martin has joined us from Vancouver. Claire. Thanks very much, Peter. And the correct term in that last story was, if there are no clouds. I think you're going to luck out in Prince Rupert. And that's pretty much it, actually. Maybe Yamath, Nova Scotia, but that is pretty much it. We still have this area of low pressure, this broad area of unsettled weather, drifting its way very slowly up towards, well, Labrador, put it that way. Towards the north of the system, that's where you'll see the snow flow. To the south, it's drying up ever so slightly. So a drier day for the Maritimes. And then more in the way of inclement weather, building its way into north central Ontario. It's not even winter yet, is it? Minus one in Thunder Bay with the snow developing during the course of the day. Temperatures, well, not too bad for this time of year. Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal. But I've got to put in just a risk of seeing some flurries still. A mild day in through the Maritimes, not as warm as it has been. You can say goodbye to the teens you saw in Nova Scotia today. But temperatures still running well above seasonal. And there's a fair amount of dry weather as well. And this is St. John's starting off with the morning fog and the temperature dropping quite dramatically during the course of the day. Minus 10 degrees in Iqaluit. Western half of the country, this little guy is racing its way through the central portions of the prairies. Strong winds in through east central Alberta tonight and a wide swath of snow in behind. Clearer skies into BC, but that area of high pressure, that's cold. Daytime highs, look at this in Whitehorse, minus 17 degrees. Not bad out on the west coast with a chance of seeing some morning showers. Temperatures dropping off, however, in the prairie provinces with that northerly wind dragging down the cooler weather. And there's the snow showing up in through parts of Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba. And a high in Yellowknife of minus 15. That's your forecast. And now, happy sky watching. Peter, back to you. Alright, Claire, thanks very much. Claire Martin at the CBC News Weather Center in Vancouver. And that's The National for this Monday night. I'm Peter Mansbridge. Thanks for watching.
