Hewson has told Parliament it's a budget of betrayal for ordinary Australians and Labour's true believers. He says it's a cowardly budget and one of the most dishonest documents ever introduced into Federal Parliament. He accused Labour of hiding the truth of the massive budget tax slug from voters. Most government members failed to show up to listen to Dr Hewson's address, including Prime Minister Paul Keating. The budget is already starting to show cracks and the government is preparing to back down. Keating has lashed out at Dr Hewson and the Senate for imposing deadlines on legislation. In other news, health experts trying to unravel the mystery of asthma believe a sugar cane insect may be one of the major culprits.
