great force for Lightning for the last four years and has been an integral part of our success so she's going to be a big hole to fill next year so we really do want to win this one on Saturday. And head to head, Sydney I see you lead us 6-5 so it's really our time. It's our turn to even it up and this is actually the first time that we've been Lightning that we've met Sydney in a Grand Final so it's well overdue and it should be a great game and the starting time is quarter to five on Saturday. Quarter to five on Saturday, dead right, Rachel it's been a fantastic year for you but it's going to get even better, bring home the bacon on the weekend. Certainly hope so, we hope to do so proud. Rachel Spawn there from the Powerhouse, thank you very much. And finally tonight in local netball, ticket sales are slightly down for this weekend's Grand Final. For the 10th year in a row Garville and Contacts will meet in the Championship Decider and the Blues are confident of ending Garville's unbroken run of four Premierships. Each year Mark Ango finds a different approach to coaching. This year for Contacts it's been agility training, a series of apparently complex routines designed to prepare the Blues for combat. Ango has been general in Contacts for more than a decade and her players praise her methods. Yeah I've had her for over 10 years and I guess you can easily get sick of coaches but she just has the ability to know what to say to each individual player. What has become the annual Grand Final matchup with Garville is just three days away. Contacts the overwhelming favourite after blitzing the greys in the semi-final by 15 goals. But while Garville's season has been inconsistent, the Premier of the past four seasons has plenty of experience to draw on. We need to make sure that we can dominate in attack and try to minimise the turnovers which traditionally we probably have against Contacts. The severe knee injury suffered by Josie Pearce in last week's preliminary final places greater pressure on the greys defence, especially Pearce's replacement Kelly Venice. Yes I am shaking, I'm trying not to think about it too much, I've watched a few videos and trying to get a bit of an eye, have a look at my opponents and that sort of thing but no I'm trying just to do my daily task and yeah really I'll think about it more when I come closer to the day. More than 4,000 tickets have been sold for Sunday's Grand Final at the Powerhouse. Neil Cross, Tenews. And it should be another very good final, that's our sport. Yes thanks Peter. A story just in and Adelaide Lord Mayor has made a series of extraordinary allegations. Henry Ninio claims that Premier Dean Brown is behind a conspiracy to remove him from office. He's also accused council members of involvement in a newspaper campaign against him. Henry Ninio officially opened a new drinking fountain this morning but soon after the champagne flowed it was chaos at the Adelaide City Council Chambers, television reporters were invited to a media conference but the scene soon became a fiasco as the Lord Mayor's minders tried to prevent newspaper reporters from attending. Furious at the move the journalists stood their ground. It would seem that the advertisers have been banned from this press conference. More than 30 minutes later police were called in. The Lord Mayor has invited the TV crew into his office. With the news conference finally underway, minus the print reporters, Henry Ninio explained he banned the advertiser because he feels he's been harassed by the newspaper. There have been two or three very nasty articles in the advertiser about me. The reports raise allegations of Mr Ninio misusing council funds and a row with the Premier over the Lord Mayor's trade mission to Libya last year. In an extraordinary attack, Mr Ninio has accused the Premier of being behind a conspiracy to oust him. What else can he do and that is to heap a lot of problems on the council, there can be no question that there is a conspiracy. The Premier walked into the row today arriving home after a three week trade mission of his own. He denied claims by Mr Ninio that he backed down from signing an endorsement letter for the Lord Mayor's Libyan visit. When I saw the letter I decided not to sign it. Mr Ninio will face a hostile council meeting tonight to explain the recent controversy. Adrian Rochella, 10 News. Well angling history has been created in South Australia and our own travelling fisherman Peter Nicholls has been a part of it. Last weekend's savage winds were anything but good for fishing, especially fly fishing. But nine keen exponents of the long wand, including myself, had no choice but to go fishing in the Howling Gale. We gathered at the Rosebank Trout Farm near Mount Compass for the inaugural South Australian Fly Fishing Championships. Competitors had to fish four sessions of three hours each over two days. You were restricted to one fly no bigger than size 10 and you had to use barbless hooks. Despite those limitations, numerous nice rainbow trout came to the net putting points on the board. The competition rules insisted that all fish be returned to the water with the judges keeping a close eye on proceedings. For the moment, happy hookers now and a good carp for Wade Porter, squid for Nissa Taylor, the dust hole was kind to Rosemary Simick and a 23 kilo mulloway for Gerry Burt. And this should put a smile on your face. These great hooks are yours thanks to our friends at South Seas Tackle. The conditions on the next day of the State Fly Fishing Championships were even worse than Saturday. The wind blew twice as hard and the fish were much wearier, making the angler's job considerably tougher. The range of flies being tossed around led eventually to fish being hooked though. The scoring system was based on 100 points per fish and then 20 points extra per centimetre. At the start of the last session, only two or three good fish separated the top five and it was a keenly contested last three hours. Yours truly surprised himself on the tougher speed by pulling out three fish despite having to cast head on into the 35 knot winds. Many thanks to fellow contestant Andrew Panuccio of Happy Valley who unselfishly offered a heavy rod to help combat those blowy conditions. At the end of the weekend, Rosebank owner Dave Higgins had the happy task of announcing the winners. Dave Bennett came in first, I was lucky enough to take out the silver, and Brett Morris came third. The three of us amassed a total of nearly 28,000 points in the four sessions. From here, myself, Dave and Brett go on to represent South Australia at the Australian Fly Fishing Titles. If successful there, the world titles. And I can tell you, Jane, we're pretty chuffed at the moment about being South Australian champions. Aren't we, fellas? What do you reckon? Congratulations. I just love the way Peter blames the weather for everything that happens when he goes fishing, and we all want to know when we're coming around for dinner that fish look really good. Well, it was a whole lot cooler today with a temperature of just 15 degrees. That came at 1 o'clock this afternoon after an overnight low of 10.6 degrees at 25 past 8 this morning. Well, despite the spectacular lightning last night, the SES reported no damage, but there was plenty of sky show last night. It was the best display in a long time. If you weren't hiding underneath the bed, you really got a good look at it. There was plenty of hail around as well. Hail was reported in sizes ranging from just pea size up to 20 cent coin size at Greenacres and Craigmore. And that's the very same storm that moved through into Victoria today and produced damage. But as I mentioned earlier, in South Australia there was no damage reported out of that spectacular show that we had last night. Interstate today, they actually had some drizzle up in Cairns. They had a top temperature there of 25 degrees. It was a bit warmer in Townsville with 28 degrees. 25 degrees for Brisbane today. It was a hot day in Sydney with some northerly winds. They're expecting a cooler change there through there tomorrow. And 30 degrees, 22 degrees in Canberra. And as we saw earlier, Melbourne and Hobart had showers, rain and hail as that cold front moved through. Alice Springs was a dusty 31 degrees today. Darwin had a hot 35 degrees. And over in Perth they had some showers and a top of 19. Now on the chart we can see that cold front which has moved away. We've been in fresh south-westerly air stream today. There's still some cold air around. Still the chance of some hail and thunderstorms tonight. But I don't think they'll be quite as spectacular as last night's. And then a high pressure system ridging in. Conditions will become fine during Saturday. It should be nice and fine during the afternoon. Then Sunday, freshly northerly winds ahead of yet another change. Very difficult to predict the temperature for Sunday. The Bureau is saying around about 23 degrees. But a late change on the way. And by Monday we'll be cool again with some showers. Now looking at the moving satellite photograph, we can see that massive, very active cloud. Quite a bit of cold air in it moving through the eastern states. It's going to move across the Alps tonight. Then coming up from the southwest we can see the development of the next system. Which is expected to move into South Australia late Sunday night or early Monday. With some showers and cooler conditions. Interstate tomorrow it will be wet right along the east coast. Ranging from drizzle in Cairns right down to the south with more rain through here. Some showers over in Perth and it will be fine in the other capital cities. South Australia today, temperatures range from 10 degrees at Mt Crawford. Up to 28 at Mt Dare. On our state satellite photograph we can see some of that cold air. The state forecast for tonight and tomorrow. Isolated thunderstorms with hail and showers over the settled areas. Moderate to fresh southwesterly winds. State temperatures tomorrow. A number of centres going for about 14 degrees. A top tomorrow of 19 in Coober Pedy. On local waters, southwesterly winds at 15 to 20 knots. And seas of 1.5 metres. The UV reading index for tomorrow. We're looking at 4 which is high. But that will decrease to 3 with heavy cloud cover. And the forecast for Adelaide, a few showers. An overnight low of 8 and a top tomorrow of around about 14 degrees. I think I need a hot lemon drink with this throat. But I must ask Nicky, did you really hide underneath the bed when that thunderstorm happened last night? No, I was out catching the hail. It was amazing. Tomorrow night in 10 News at 5. Meet Australia's most endangered animal. There's only about 130 animals. Officially extinct in the wild. But South Australia could be their last hope. Find out why tomorrow first at 5. The only thing you were catching last night was a cold. No, that was James. That's the way it is on this 19th day of September. And there'll be updates throughout the evening.
